Days of Our Lives Recap June 8: Gabi Scores With EJ, Lexie Learns the Miracle Drug May Be Killing Her
TL;DR: In today’s Days of our Lives recap, Lexie learns the truth about the miracle drug’s side effects, while Gabi triumphs over EJ, Ari overhears a clue about Liam, and Xander warns Kate to tell Roman the truth.
Days of our Lives June 8

EJ asked Rolf if the lab rat died as a side effect of the miracle drug, and he reluctantly told him it was possible. He said that it could be age-related, but a second rat was also showing signs of decline.
Rolf assured EJ that he could still sell the drug, but EJ claimed it wasn’t all about the profit. EJ was upset that Lexie’s reveal was premature and that they were supposed to be sure everything worked before anyone knew. Rolf wanted time to see if he could reverse the effects on the declining rat, but insisted that EJ bring Lexie to him to be examined.
Kate Panics Over the Truth Coming Out

At the Brady pub, Kate furiously tried texting Xander in hopes that he hadn’t told Johnny yet, but he wasn’t responding to her messages. She eavesdropped as Gabi told how Tony offered her the CEO position at DiMera, but she didn’t take it because of Philip.
Kate intervened, and she and Gabi got into it about Philip being hurt by something she did. As Gabi described that she’d done something underhanded and selfish that hurt the man she loved, Kate could relate.
To Gabi’s surprise, Kate didn’t lecture her and instead told her she needed to fix something before it was too late. Gabi and Ari were confused when Kate left abruptly.
Gabi told Ari that it wasn’t actually Theo who ratted her out and that she assumed it was Tony. Gabi advised Ari that when you hurt someone, to own up to it, but wished she could learn not to hurt anyone in the first place.
Lexie Catches Up With Kristen

At the DiMera mansion, Lexie surprised Kristen by coming by. They got caught up, and Lexie said that she’d been reading headlines about the family.
Kristen admitted that at first she thought Lexie was an imposter, but she was glad she was back because there was too much testosterone in the family. She told Lexie about EJ’s secret lab and how he’d used the hospital as a front. Lexie was grateful for EJ, but as Kristen talked about how everything EJ touches goes to hell, Lexie’s hand began to shake uncontrollably.
Just then, EJ came through the tunnel door. Kristen left at the sight of EJ, and Lexie told him that something was terribly wrong. She explained how she’d been dizzy and faint. EJ said that he’d take her to see Dr. Rolf but asked that she keep it secret so Abe and Theo wouldn’t worry unnecessarily.
Kate Confesses to Philip

Xander went to Titan and scolded Philip for refusing the money Gabi offered him from her DiMera inheritance. When Xander said he was taking it, Philip argued that he couldn’t be part of it and would quit if he took the money.
Kate came in, and Xander told her what she had walked in on. Kate told Philip that they needed to focus on Victor’s legacy and said he was there; he’d tell him to get over himself. She confessed that she and Xander lied about framing Johnny but said it was one of many things people had to do to keep Philip out of prison for fraud.
When Kate added that Xander left her a voicemail threatening to reveal their secret, Xander asked to speak to her alone. Xander told Kate about Marlena’s threat that he either drop the lawsuit against Johnny or she’d drop him as a therapist. He suggested that Kate tell Roman the truth before he heard it from someone else.
Philip returned, and Xander told him that since they have to drop the lawsuit, they’ll need Gabi’s money more than ever. When Philip said he’d clean out his desk, Xander noted that their rash decisions were what started it all and asked him to wait.
Brady and Sarah Search for Answers

In the square, Sarah saw Brady and told him what happened to Destiny. She couldn’t understand it and thought something from her past might explain her sudden demise. When she told Brady about Destiny’s sister also dying the same way, he agreed to track down their brother Liam.
Brady and Sarah moved to the pub to talk, where Ari overheard them mentioning Liam’s name. She asked them about it, and said she knew him and had something of his she wanted to return, and asked if they contacted him, to let him know.
Gabi Scores a Victory Against EJ

Outside, Gabi ran into EJ, and he happily told her that his expert said he couldn’t prove that the divorce paperwork was forged and therefore she wasn’t entitled to the inheritance.
Gabi said she’d see his hired hand and raise him an FBI expert who said otherwise, plus a statement from Ivan that he saw Vivian sign them. Gabi shut EJ down by telling him he was stealing from Stefan’s inheritance and she would fight him for it on his behalf.
When EJ offered to settle, Gabi triumphantly noted that he wouldn’t have offered if he thought he could win. “See you in court, loser!” she laughed.
As Gabi started to walk away, she spotted Kristen slipping her room key card into Xander’s sling. Gabi turned around in disbelief and saw the same look on EJ’s face as hers as he watched Xander and Kristen together.
Lexie Learns the Truth

Meanwhile, Rolf examined Lexie and determined that her grip strength was very low. As a doctor, knowing the symptoms, she wondered if there was something neurological going on and asked what he wasn’t telling her. Rolf said he did extensive animal testing before using the drug on her, but recently, a couple of rats showed signs of cognitive decline.
Lexie realized she was heading in the same direction and asked if Rolf could help. “I’ll do anything,” she said. They both agreed they were willing to take all the risks needed. Lexie tearfully said she had just gotten her life back and wasn’t willing to give it up without a fight.
