TL;DR: In today’s Days of our Lives recap, Ari learns Gabi paid Liam to leave, Sarah gets troubling test results for Holly, and EJ and Rita realize Johnny is digging into Coriseal.

Days of our Lives Recap June 25

In the square, Gabi saw Ari and Liam kissing and angrily interrupted as Aaron watched. “What the hell were you thinking coming back to Salem, let alone kissing my daughter?” she yelled. Ari turned around and asked what she was talking about. “Why wouldn’t Liam be in Salem?” she asked.

Gabi stumbled over her answer, saying that she’d heard he’d moved away, so she was just surprised, but Ari called her out. When Gabi wouldn’t admit that she was responsible for Liam leaving town, Ari turned to Liam himself to get answers.

After Ari pressed, Gabi admitted to paying Liam to leave. Ari yelled at her in Spanish, but Liam told her not to be upset as Gabi did it for her. Gabi wanted to go home to talk, but Ari didn’t want to talk to her mom, let alone live under the same roof.

Ari told Gabi and Liam to go, but Aaron walked up and suggested they go instead. Ari took his hand and walked away, as Gabi yelled at Liam in Spanish.

Kristen Asks Xander for Help With EJ

Xander was about to open the DiMera Pharmaceuticals folder on his laptop when Kristen interrupted. Since he was out of his sling, she offered to do it on the desk. Xander told her his desk was for business, and it was why he needed her help.

When Xander shared that what he needed would help bring down EJ, Kristen immediately offered to help. Xander explained it had to do with DiMera Pharmaceuticals and was a favor to Sarah, but lives were at stake, and it was the right thing to do.

Kristen reminded Xander that she asked him to kill EJ for her. She said she was scared of him, and he needed to be neutralized. As she started to confide in him, Xander got a call from Philip, and he raced out the door.

As Kristen walked through the square, she just missed Gabi yelling at Liam. He stomped by Kristen, and she did a double-take, noting that he looked familiar. She asked Gabi who he was, and she told her he’d stocked the crypt for Peter for her family’s extended stay. Gabi told Kristen that Ari didn’t appreciate what she did, but that she did it for Ari.

EJ and Rita Realize Johnny Is Asking About Coriseal

Rita came to see EJ in the DiMera living room as his voice on the phone indicated a crisis. EJ told her that he was quite sure Kristen plotted to kill Johnny. Rita was shocked and cried at the thought that “dear, sweet Giovanni” was almost murdered.

EJ explained that Kristen wanted revenge for Rachel being in Bayview. “What are you going to do about it?” Rita asked. “No…what are we going to do about it?” EJ corrected. “Did I stutter?” Rita retorted. EJ said he wanted to let Kristen sweat, worrying that the hammer would fall.

Rita revealed that they might have another Johnny-related crisis, as appointing him CEO might not have been a good idea. She knew that Johnny had been making inquiries about a batch of Coriseal that had been made and why there were files missing about it.

EJ and Rita noted that they destroyed a batch because it was contaminated with arsenic. He didn’t understand why Johnny was asking about it now, and Rita didn’t know. EJ said he was going to put a stop to it. He asked what George had done with the tainted drugs, and Rita told him he buried them on Smith Island.

Holly’s Test Results Come In

At the hospital, Sarah told Brady and Tate that Holly was stable but admitted. The test results came in and showed she had Coriseal in her system. Sarah didn’t share that news but did ask Tate if they’d taken any drugs, which he denied.

Sarah then went to Holly and said she wouldn’t be in trouble but she needed to know what narcotics she’d taken. Holly also denied doing so. Sarah went back to Tate and Brady to ask more questions.

Tate adamantly defended Holly, insisting that she never would have taken drugs or risked combining pills. After all she’d been through, all she wanted was to have control of her body. He said that mixing drugs or prescriptions would make no sense.

Tate went to see Holly as Sarah told Brady that she felt terrible for not having any answers. She was starting to question her own abilities as a doctor.

Sarah went back to see Holly as Brady got a call from Steve. He told him that Liam’s windfall came from Gabi, and Brady told Steve that Destiny’s death was DiMera Pharmaceuticals-related, as he’d guessed.

When Brady said goodbye, he walked away, and then Sarah started to cry. Just then, Xander arrived and asked about Holly. Sarah said she was okay for now. “Are you okay?” he asked. Sarah started crying again and shook her head, so he hugged her.

Ari Vents to Aaron as Holly Fears Sophia May Be Alive

Aaron listened to Ari vent about her mom and made sure she was okay. Ari appreciated it, even though he was hurt to see her kissing someone.

In Holly’s room, Tate and Holly tried to figure out what was going on. Tate said at least they knew that history wasn’t repeating itself, as Sophia was dead. “But what if she’s not?” Holly asked fearfully.

Tate told Holly all the reasons the police called off the search for Sophia, noting they wouldn’t have if there was a chance she was alive. Holly felt like she was losing her mind. When Holly fell asleep, Tate told her that her OD’ing was the scariest thing he had ever experienced, and he couldn’t let it happen again.
