Days of Our Lives Recap June 12: Joy Gives Alex an Ultimatum as Shawn and Jada Give In to Temptation

TL;DR: In today’s Days of our Lives recap, Joy demands Alex keep Stephanie away from Kelsey in exchange for not pressing charges, while EJ and Cat grow closer, and Shawn and Jada succumb to their feelings.

Days of our Lives Recap June 12

Steve and Kayla came over to Stephanie’s as soon as they got home, and Alex asked them to stay there while she slept so he could go talk to Joy about what happened. In the bedroom, Stephanie had a nightmare that she did actually shoot Joy and woke up screaming.

Stephanie told her parents that she let them down by not storing the gun properly. She was inconsolable, but they tried to calm her down. 

Eventually, Stephanie had some tea and was able to talk about things. Steve said if she were given her gun back by the police, she had to store it properly.

EJ and Cat Move Forward Together

At the DiMera mansion, EJ told Cat that Chanel had breast cancer and wished he could do something to help. Cat suggested that he use the miracle drug on her, but EJ said it was impossible. 

EJ told her that he needed FDA approval before anyone else could use it, and it hadn’t been tested on a pregnant woman before. Cat was upset when EJ told Cat that he’d decided she couldn’t use it on her mother, either.

Cat and EJ hung out and put on the game. She told him her favorite team was from Kansas City, MO, noting she’d grown up there. EJ mused that it must have been where she crossed paths with Clyde Weston.

Cat claimed she didn’t know how her family met Clyde. She talked about her sessions with Marlena and wished she could remember their time together in Italy, but EJ said they could make new memories together. EJ and Cat held hands and then began kissing.

Belle Makes a Decision About Stephanie

Jada met with Belle to talk about Stephanie. Belle wasn’t proceeding with anything legal against Stephanie, unless Joy wanted to press charges. 

Jada went to meet Shawn at Small Bar and told him about her conversation with Belle. When they talked about their personal lives, Shawn said it was nice that they had gotten to talk about their feelings, but they couldn’t act on them because of work.

Jada put her hand on Shawn’s and traced her finger along it as she suggested that there were ways for them to get around the regulations. She reminded Shawn that he didn’t report to her so all he needed to do was report it to HR.

Shawn said there was a lot of interest in pursuing a relationship with Jada, and she felt the same way. They began kissing but got distracted when they saw Belle and Chad on the kiss cam at the game that was on the TV. They saw them kiss, and Jada quipped they were trying to steal their thunder. “We’re not going to let them,” Shawn shrugged and went back to kissing Jada.

Belle and Chad Go To A Ball Game

In the square, Thomas and Charlotte were looking forward to going to a baseball game with their dad and Belle, but wanted to know if she was coming as a friend or a date. Chad said both, and they were happy about it.

When Belle got there, they left for the game and had a good time together. Charlotte wasn’t feeling well so while Chad took her to get something for her stomach, Thomas and Belle bonded over baseball.

Alex Tries To Persuade Joy

Alex found Joy in the pub and asked if she’d decided if she was filing a complaint against Stephanie. Joy was adamant that she would, and couldn’t believe it when Alex called her unreasonable.

Joy noted that she had nearly been killed by someone on drugs and yet she was the unreasonable one. Alex tried to explain that Stephanie had been kidnapped and was still dealing with that when she found out he was a father.

Joy understood but still didn’t want Stephanie near Kelsey. She told him again that he could come over to her place to visit Kelsey, but only without Stephanie. Alex got mad about it, but Joy wasn’t going to be blackmailed.

Joy said that she didn’t trust Stephanie and made him a deal. She said she wouldn’t file a complaint if he kept Stephanie out of Kelsey’s life. Alex wanted to find middle ground, but Joy was adamant.

Alex Stops Stephanie

When Alex returned home, he explained that he’d asked Steve and Kayla to come over so he could talk to Joy. Everyone was relieved to hear that Joy wasn’t going to press charges.

They went to the square to get some ice cream. Steve and Kayla had a moment alone and Kayla soothed Steve when he felt guilty for getting Stephanie the gun.

Meanwhile, Stephanie told Alex she still felt bad about what happened, but was relieved she wouldn’t be charged. When they saw Joy, Stephanie wanted to go say thank you but Alex pulled her back and told her to let it go for now.
