Days of our Lives Recap July 7: Lexie Confronts EJ, Cat Recovers a Memory

TL;DR: In the Days of our Lives recap for Tuesday, July 6, 2026, Lexie unleashes her anger on EJ, Cat recovers a surprising memory during hypnotherapy, and Stephanie grows more concerned about Joy’s hold on Alex.

Days of our Lives Recap July 7

In the square, Theo ran into Chanel, who was going to go to a Mommy & Me class with Trey, until they ran into Joy and Kelsey, who were also going. Chanel had a change of plans while icing Joy in the conversation.

After Joy left, Chanel told Theo that she and Johnny had moved on and didn’t want to talk about Joy. Theo thought that was good, except Joy was now in Salem with a kid the same age as Trey. He didn’t think Chanel could avoid her.

Joy Pulls Alex Away Again

Alex and Stephanie talked about how the DiMera-Kiriakis feud should have ended with Stefano and Victor, but it hasn’t. It was because of the feud that Owen kidnapped Stephanie the first time and came for her again.

Alex said he owed it to himself and his family to do whatever it took to save Titan. Stephanie said she would help and was already thinking about the PR spin she would use.

Joy called Alex and said she needed help with a flat tire. She said she was on the side of the highway with Kelsey. Alex told her he’d be right there. Before he left, Stephanie said that Joy couldn’t keep making him her first call, and he agreed.

Lexie Confronts EJ

At the DiMera mansion, EJ held a steak to his eye where Kristen had punched him as he spoke on the phone with Johnny, updating him that their clue-dropping in Sarah’s office worked, and Holly’s treatment had changed accordingly.

EJ quickly hung up when Lexie walked in and asked about his eye. EJ explained about Kristen and Gwen’s fight, noting that Rolf told him the steak could help. Lexie told him not ot take Dr. Rolf’s medical advice, or he could wind up like her.

Lexie told EJ that he used her like a medical guinea pig and brought her back to her life only to watch herself lose it again. She said she wouldn’t wish that on anyone, except EJ.

EJ got very upset, and said that everything he did was for the family. He told her that bringing her back was Stefano’s dying wish and he gave her her life back. “Yes, you did. Only to die all over again,” Lexie replied.

EJ Makes a Promise

EJ hated that Lexie was giving up hope, but she told him that she and Rolf knew the only outcome. Lexie added that Theo and Abe would have to watch her die all over again and she’d never forgive EJ for that.

They were interrupted by Theo, and assured him that everything was fine. EJ quipped that he got his black eye from Lexie’s left hook. After Theo left again, Lexie told EJ that all she saw was the little boy who lost his mother and now he could lose her all over again.

EJ promised Lexie that he was not going to let that happen. He hugged his sister as they were both emotional.

Stephanie and Chanel Compare Notes

Later, Stephanie saw Chanel in the park, who wasn’t in the best mood. However, she said that what would cheer her up was hearing Stephanie complain about her own life instead.

Chanel wished she had someone treat her like she was normal and fine, and Stephanie could relate. Chanel asked what was up with Joy.

Stephanie told Chanel about Joy’s damsel-in-distress moments lately. Chanel told her to watch her back as she’d seen Joy in action before.

Alex Helps Joy

Meanwhile, Alex and Joy got back to the pub, and Joy thanked him for his help. She said she hoped she didn’t pull him from anything important. “No, not at all,” Alex told her.

Alex got Joy signed up with roadside assistance. She assured him that from now on unless it was related to Kelsey, she would call 911 for an emergency.

Cat Begins Hypnotherapy

Cat went to see Marlena and told her she had reconsidered having hypnotherapy. Marlena told her she had time before her next appointment to start immediately. They began to talk, and Marlena was surprised to learn that Andrew had told her she could be trusted.

Cat admitted that she was ISA, so Marlena checked with Andrew to confirm. Once he did, Cat said she wouldn’t share the results with EJ, but she needed to know, for her own sake, what had happened between them.

Marlena disclosed her relationship to EJ but felt she could remain unbiased. That said, she told Cat straight up that if she had anything to do with the breakup of Sami and EJ’s marriage, then she and Sami both owed her a debt of gratitude.

Marlena hypnotized Cat, and she recalled sitting with EJ, reading Wuthering Heights, and EJ squeezing her hand. Cat remembered touching EJ’s bandaged face and kissing his cheek.

Marlena told her to hold in her mind what she just saw and wake up. Afterward, Cat told her it was an enlightening session and would like another. When Marlena stepped out to get paperwork, Cat murmured to herself that it was real.
