Days of our Lives Recap July 6: Sarah Makes a Breakthrough, Gwen Attacks Kristen, and EJ Pressures Johnny

TL;DR: In the Days of our Lives recap for Monday, July 6, 2026, Sarah realizes arsenic may be poisoning Holly, EJ gives Johnny another dangerous assignment, Kristen alarms Brady about Rachel, and Gwen attacks Kristen at the DiMera mansion.

Days of our Lives Recap July 6

In Horton Square, Salemites like Steve and Kayla enjoyed the fireworks. After the festivities, Kayla said she had to go back to work because they were short-staffed.

When Kristen saw Brady alone, they immediately began bickering. Brady told Kristen he visited Rachel, and the doctor was pleased with her progress.

When Brady said Rachel could be home by next week, Kristen told him it couldn’t happen. She told Brady that EJ was taunting her with Rachel and knew the best way to get to her was through her daughter.

Brady asked if EJ would hurt Rachel. Kristen backed down, saying she was just being dramatic and that she’d work things out with EJ, leaving Brady confused as she walked away.

Gwen Declares War on Kristen

In Leo’s hotel room, Gwen was furious about Xander and Kristen while drinking. Leo had to ask her to stop taking it out on him. Gwen admitted that Xander made it clear what to expect from him, but she made a fool of herself catching feelings.

Gwen said that it was over between her and Xander, but Kristen lied to her face and betrayed her. “You’re going to give her a piece of your mind, aren’t you?” Leo asked. “No. I’m going to kill her,” Gwen said adamantly before leaving. Leo struggled to get himself dressed, then tried to follow her.

EJ Makes Johnny Uncomfortable

EJ called Johnny, who told him he didn’t want to talk as he was done with the Coriseal mess. “It’s just the beginning,” EJ announced. He said there were loose ends that needed clearing up, and Johnny was still the CEO.

Johnny said Chanel just had her first round of chemo and he wasn’t leaving, so EJ said he would come to Johnny — despite his protests. Once he arrived, EJ wanted to know whether Johnny had given Sarah the message.

Johnny said he did, then had a flashback to going to Sarah’s office, putting on gloves, and grabbing a book. He opened a medical journal to a chapter on arsenic. They both hoped she found it in time to figure it out and save Holly’s life.

EJ mentioned that the book couldn’t be traced back to them. Johnny was aghast that it was all EJ cared about, even as Holly could die. Johnny blasted EJ for not doing it himself, but EJ was on Smith Island, he said, ensuring the pills were permanently disposed of.

EJ Gives Johnny Another Impossible Task

EJ told him there was one more task, but Johnny balked. EJ insisted that Chanel never needed to know, and it would only protect her. “I need you to ensure that Theo never finds out, either,” EJ said. Johnny said that he and Theo were partners, but EJ told him that only Johnny understood what needed to be done for the good of their family.

EJ explained that the company had a past that Johnny had to reckon with, regardless of whether he liked it or not. He said that he had to deal with it and keep Theo out of it.

After EJ left, Johnny talked to Trey in his crib. He told him he only ever wanted him to be proud of him, and promised that he would never become his father’s son.

Sarah Fears Holly Is Running Out of Time

At the hospital, Xander came to see Holly and found Sarah asleep in the chair next to Holly’s bed. Sarah woke up and told him that Holly was worsening. Xander shared that he was getting some insider help from Kristen.

Sarah didn’t trust Xander’s source, but told him it was none of his business who he was sleeping with. In their conversation, Xander figured out that the Coriseal issue was related to Holly’s condition and not just Destiny’s.

Sarah admitted that it was possible Holly had some of the tainted Coriseal, and she was terrified. She got a message with the lab results that her liver and kidney functions were starting to fail.

Brady Turns to Steve About Kristen’s Warning

Steve saw Brady in the square alone and asked what had him upset. Brady told him that EJ may be a threat to her and Rachel. Steve suggested Kristen was paranoid. “She’s not exactly the poster girl for rational thinking,” Steve added.

Brady told him how Kristen panicked about Rachel coming home. “That is a strange pivot. Even for her,” Steve agreed. Brady said if there was a legitimate threat to his daughter, Kristen needed to tell him.

Sarah Realizes Arsenic Is the Missing Piece

Upset, Sarah went to her office and saw the textbook on her desk. She looked at the “Arsenic” heading on the page it was opened to and realized it was the answer she was looking for.

Meanwhile, Xander sat with Holly and talked to her as she slept. Kayla came in looking for Sarah, but Sarah arrived a moment later. She said that if what ailed Holly was what she thought it was, they could beat it.

Sarah told Kayla they were running out of time and if they didn’t start treatment on the assumption it was arsenic without proper testing, they could lose Holly.

Sarah told Kayla the reasons she thought that the Coriseal, arsenic, Holly, Destiny, and her sister were all connected. She deduced that either Holly had taken the Coriseal pills or the well water was contaminated. Kayla left to ask the lab to test the water samples for Coriseal and arsenic as well.

Brady and Xander Compare Notes

Brady went to the hospital to see Sarah but ran into Xander instead. He filled him in on the arsenic update. Xander fumed that EJ had to be behind all of it.

They didn’t believe that EJ would’ve risked himself to leave the book out, so it had to be a whistleblower connected to EJ but who would also know Holly.

Xander ended up telling Brady that EJ had taken over Titan’s loan and that they could lose everything. Brady asked what he could do. Xander said his prime concern was Holly, but if they could take down EJ in the process, well, they were both on board with that.

Meanwhile, Steve joined Kayla in Sarah’s office to investigate. Kayla wondered who could have done something like that.

Gwen Attacks Kristen

Gwen went to the DiMera mansion and told off Kristen for betraying her. Kristen tried blowing it off that it was just sex, but Gwen cried that Kristen knew how she felt, as she’d confided in her. She also knew how many times she’d been betrayed.

When Kristen scoffed at her pain and said if Xander mattered so much to her, maybe she should have tried harder to satisfy him, Gwen lunged at her.

Leo arrived and tried to break it up, pulling Gwen away, but she triumphantly managed to get a handful of Kristen’s hair. EJ ran in and tried to pull Kristen away, but in her flailing, she punched him in the eye.
