Days of our Lives Recap July 13: Alex Blames Stephanie as Lexie Collapses

TL;DR: In today’s Days of our Lives recap for Monday, July 13, 2026, Alex blames Stephanie after Joy and Kelsey’s accident, Lexie says an emotional goodbye to Marlena, Kristen fears EJ’s next move, and EJ begins putting a sinister plan into motion after Lexie collapses.

Days of our Lives Recap July 13

At the hospital, Alex rushed into the examination room and found Joy with an empty car seat. She assured him that Kelsey was fine, but they were getting X-rays just as a precaution. Joy apologized for worrying him as she cried about how scared she was, and he held her to calm her down.

Stephanie also rushed to the hospital and asked her mom about Kelsey and Joy, but she couldn’t tell her anything as she wasn’t next of kin. She admitted that she’d deleted Joy’s message because she assumed she was being manipulative.

Kayla understood where she was coming from but agreed it wasn’t going to go over well with Alex. She told Stephanie that she tried having a chat with Joy, and told her to come to Kayla instead of Alex about insurance issues.

Alex Turns on Stephanie

When Kayla brought Kelsey to Joy and Alex, she told them that the baby was fine but had a bruised clavicle. They were both very relieved.

Kayla told them to keep an eye on her and if there were any causes for concern like excessive crying, to bring her back in, but felt it was said as a precaution. Kayla wanted Joy checked out as well, but she insisted she was fine.

When Kayla went back to the nurses’ station, Stephanie asked if there was a chance that Joy caused the accident. Kayla said Joy and Kelsey could have both been killed.

Stephanie knew she was right but wondered if Joy loved Alex. She explained that when she was in town before, she was borderline obsessive. Kayla advised that Stephanie could only control her own thoughts and actions.

Kayla added that she was married to Alex, but Joy and Kelsey were part of his life now, too, and they weren’t going anywhere. She said that, as someone in her shoes, her marriage survived and thrived.

Alex Discovers Stephanie Deleted Joy’s Message

Meanwhile, Alex felt bad that he had left Joy and Kelsey without getting a new tire, as he knew spares blew easily. Alex admitted that thinking that Stephanie might be upset played a role in his decision.

Joy said something about all the calls she’d made and the voicemail she left but he didn’t know what she meant. He looked and didn’t see any message from her.

When Alex came out to the nurses’ station. He told Stephanie that he found Joy’s message in his deleted voicemails, and pointed out that she knew his passcode and had access to his phone. Stephanie admitted that she deleted Joy’s message but thought she was just playing games.

Alex was furious, even more so when Stephanie said she suspected Joy was in love with him and jealous of their marriage. He blamed Stephanie for what she did and wondered what would have happened if something happened to Kelsey and she had prevented him from being there. Stephanie was stunned when Alex told her to go home without him and went back to Joy and Kelsey.

Kristen Is Shaken by EJ’s Threats

Kristen came to see Rachel at Bayview and found her playing chess with EJ. She was instantly furious and asked Rachel to give them a minute. Once alone, Kristen told EJ that he was on the no-contact list, but he played innocent to it.

Kristin insisted that she wasn’t behind what Sophia did to Johnny, but he said he knew better. She worried that he’d hurt Rachel, but EJ assured her she wouldn’t have to share the attention with anyone, and her reckoning was all for her.

EJ told Kristen the clock was ticking and her end would be merciless. When he walked out, she cried.

When Rachel returned, Kristen said EJ had business to take care of. Kristen asked what she and EJ talked about, but she insisted it was just about chess.

Lexie Says Goodbye to Marlena

At Marlena’s office, Lexie told her that she was dying and the end was near. Marlena asked how Abe and Theo were handling it, but Lexie said she hadn’t told them — and she wasn’t going to.

Lexie explained that she wasn’t going to put Abe and Theo through that pain again and planned to ensure they wouldn’t be with her when the time came. Marlena told Lexie that when John died it meant the world to her to be with him and said they both needed to say goodbye like that.

Lexie said she knew in her heart that it was for the best. Marlena said she would respect her decision but wondered how Abe and Theo would learn of her passing when the time came. Lexie didn’t know but said the only thing that mattered was how to ease their pain.

Lexie told Marlena that EJ knew what was going on. Marlena offered to drive her where she needed, but Lexie said she would take care of herself. She thanked Marlena for always being such a good friend to her. “And you to me,” Marlena said. The two cried as they hugged and said goodbye.

Kristen Makes a Heartbreaking Request

Marlena went to see Rachel and found Kristen wiping away her tears; Rachel had gone to do a skincare routine before bed. Marlena asked Kristen what was wrong. “Everything!” she cried. She said that EJ being there rattled her, so Marlena asked if EJ was a danger to Rachel.

“No, but to me… that’s another story,” Kristen said shakily. She asked Marlena to promise that if anything happened to her, she’d be there for Rachel.

Lexie Collapses as EJ Sets His Plan in Motion

EJ was talking to Sydney on the phone. As she told him that Kristen suggested they take a holiday together, he spotted Lexie on the floor of the living room, unconscious. As EJ tried to wake Lexie, Rita came from the tunnels.

EJ yelled at Rita to get Dr. Rolf, but she told him that he was gone. Rolf left a note that the FBI was asking too many questions and he didn’t want to implicate EJ, so he left town.

EJ realized Lexie was still breathing and wanted to take her to the hospital but Rita reminded him that would go against her wishes. They moved Lexie to the couch instead.

Rita listened as EJ told her about his call with Sidney. He ordered to tell the staff to get the private island ready as Kristen was being sent there to spend the rest of her days away from her daughter and no one would ever know. On the couch, Lexie opened her eyes.
