Days of our Lives Recap Jan 7: Alex and Xander fight, Kristen has Peter taken off life support
In the Days of our Lives recap for Wednesday, January 7, 2026, Kristen pulls the plug, Peter wakes up, and Alex goes behind Stephanie’s back.

At the pub, Roman and Kate greeted Justin and Bonnie back from their trip. Justin grabbed a coffee to go, as Kate and Bonnie told one another they wanted to talk.
Kate told Bonnie she admired her tenacity trying to get her book published but didn’t want her book at Titan. Bonnie left happy because Kate offered to refer her to other publishers.
At Titan, Alex told Xander that he and Stephanie were engaged. Alex noticed Bonnie was writing again and asked if the pages on Xander’s desk were going to be Titan’s next blockbuster. “Stranger things have happened,” Xander replied.
Alex told Xander that for Stephanie’s safety, they had to cancel her book tour but Xander wouldn’t hear of it. In their debate, Xander realized that Stephanie didn’t know about Alex’s request. “You have a lot to learn about married life,” Xander told him.
At the station, Rafe told Jada that he got the DiMera hidden camera unencrypted and it was possible that Peter wasn’t the one who planted. He said it was sending a signal overseas — to Alamainia.
Rafe and Jada talked about the possibility that Stefan was alive and Vivian was just pretending he wasn’t. Rafe was sure they would get some leads to figure it all out.
At the hospital, Jada removed Kristen’s handcuffs and told Kayla she was out on bail. Once alone, Kayla asked Kristen if she was 100% sure she wanted to take Peter off life support.
Justin arrived with the paperwork for Kristen to sign. After going through the legalities, Kristen signed and then went to see Peter and said her goodbyes. She told Kayla there was more she wanted to say, but knew it was time.
Kayla stopped Peter’s life support, but he began breathing on his own. Kristen sat with him, hopeful that he would survive. But when Peter woke up, he screamed at her to get out of his room.
While Peter was alone, a masked orderly came into his room, locked the door, and injected his I.V. Meanwhile, Kristen found Kayla at the nurses’ station and told her that Peter was awake.
Kayla called Jada, and she and Rafe jumped up to race over. When Kayla hung up, there was a code blue in Peter’s room, so Kayla and Kristen ran off. Behind the station, the man, now wearing a doctor’s jacket over the scrubs, paused to remove his mask and smile. It was Dr. Rolf.
