Days of our Lives Recap Jan 27: The DiMeras Grieve, Cat Finds Peter’s Connection

In the Days of our Lives recap for Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Cat makes a connection, the DiMeras grieve, Theo is given good news, and Dr. Rolf shares surprising information.

At the hospital, Paulina was excited when Chanel and Johnny told her how the ultrasound went and that it was okay to tell people she was pregnant. 

Chad visited Theo in the hospital, who was having a great dream when he woke him. Chad told him that he had to negotiate but he was no longer in danger of losing his kids.

Johnny visited next, and he told him about a book manuscript he’d been given, but that Titan had rejected it. Theo told him to go for it.

Later, Chanel and Paulina visited Theo and told him the good news: he was being released from the hospital that day.

At the DiMera mansion, Cat had just arrived when Rafe walked in and gave EJ the news that the bones in the crypt belonged to Stefano. EJ was taken aback that the phoenix wouldn’t rise again.

Kristen came in and EJ told her that the bones in the crypt were Stefano’s. “So I killed Peter with Father’s femur?” Kristen laughed, then burst into tears.

Momentarily, the DiMeras grieved, then went back to fighting. Kristen told EJ she felt sickened being in his presence. She left to pack her stuff and get out of the mansion.

Rafe asked EJ if he knew how the bones wound up in the crypt but he clapped back that Rafe was the last one to see Stefano alive. EJ took his emotions out on Rafe, who told him that the world was better off without Stefano in it.

After EJ stormed away, Cat had questions. Rafe warned her not to have sympathy for EJ, even if he was grieving on some level for the toxic relationship he’d had with his father.

Cat thought they could use EJ’s vulnerability to their advantage. As they started to walk out, Chad came in. Kristen returned and could tell he knew about Stefano.

Chad paused a moment to look at Stefano’s portrait then offered to walk out Cat, who was leaving. Outside, he told her that he had to put it in writing that they could never be together in order to keep his kids. Cat understood and was supportive before leaving.

Inside, Rafe asked Kristen if she knew where Dr. Rolf was as EJ said he had no idea. Rafte said he wasn’t sure how Kristen could help him bring EJ down if she could wind up back in prison.

Kristen said the main thing was she was currently free, and wanted to team up with him. “So what do you say?” she asked.

Abe met with Liam, who gave him well-wishes about Theo being in the hospital. In their chat, Abe discovered that Liam’s son, Gage, was five years old, and his mother overdosed. Liam said Gage spends a lot of time with his grandparents.

Abe noticed the cut on Liam’s hand, and he told him that it happened while cooking. 

EJ startled Dr. Rolf when he came into the lab. He barked to tell him what he did to his father. Dr. Rolf admitted that when he told EJ that his father had died, he didn’t tell him everything. 

Rolf said that when the world thought that Stefano had died, they went to an unchartered island that he owned. Rolf said he went away for six months, but when he returned, Stefano was truly dead. 

Since Stefano seemed to have died soon after Rolf had left, there was no way to revive his body. At first he buried Stefano on the island but eventually felt bad about that.

Rolf worried that Stefano’s grave would be desicrated, given how people felt about him, so he placed his remains in the sarcophogus. Rolf claimed that was the last he saw of Stefano, leaving them to wonder how his bones got scattered under the crypt. 

EJ looked at the chamber behind Rolf. “Part of me wishes that were Father in there. And part of me is glad I’ll never see him again,” he said.

Rolf told EJ the pod was ready for a human trial, and he had the right formula, and the right person to help him. Rolf said that he was confident that “she” would open her eyes again soon. 

Chad came to see Johnny at his office and told him EJ was back. He didn’t think that Johnny knew about Stefano since he and EJ weren’t speaking. Chad told him about the bones.

Chad and Johnny talked about their complicated feelings for Stefano. They agreed it seemed like an undignified end for Stefano. Johnny said they needed to do something about it.

Cat went home to work on her computer and found a convoluted money trail. She made a call to Andrew and told them that money was transferred from Peter to an account in Salem that belonged to Liam Selejko.
