Days of our Lives Recap Jan 26: Bones Identified, EJ Returns, Chanel’s Ultrasound
In the Days of our Lives recap for Monday, January 27, 2026, Rafe found out who the bones belonged to, EJ returned, Cat was amazed by Dr. Rolf, and Chanel and Johnny had reason to celebrate.

EJ was stunned to find Dimitri in the living room when he got back to town. Dimiti reminded him that it was the home and he lived there now.
Dimitri told EJ his tale about where he’d been, then pressed EJ for answers about Gwen coming there as well after his disappearance.
EJ told Dimitri he was going too far when he ranted about what he was going to do to Gwen for spending his money in his absence.
At the Hernandez house, Cat met with Rafe. They compared notes about the lab, and Cat said she was going to get back into the secret room somehow.
Rafe said Bo and Hope were already doing groundwork for him and Eli in Alamainia, and Vivian agreed to question. Cat said she would try again to get into the lab through Mark.
Cat and Rafe talked about who was likely behind the DiMera kidnappings. They ruled out Gwen since she was busy spending Dimitri’s money. They thought there would be no benefit to Dimitri in working with Peter.
Rafe gave Cat some backstory about Stefano, and thought it unlikely that he was alive. But unless he was proven to be dead, his inheritance couldn’t be given out. He said he was having the bones analyzed.
Rafe thought it was odd that Kristen offered to help bring EJ down. Cat thought they should entertain her offer. Cat got a message from Rita that EJ was back and had to go.
Rafe affectionately told her to be safe. Once alone, Rafe got a phone call telling him the identity of the bones.
At the hospital, Sarah tended to Kristen, who made it clear that since she was back, Sarah didn’t need to play mom to Rachel anymore.
In the hallway, Johnny and Chanel saw Kristen, and Chanel was instantly upset that she was out of prison. Johnny wanted her to stay calm and keep her stress levels down.
Johnny and Chanel met with Sarah for an ultrasound. She said everything looked great, and Chanel had a viable pregnancy. Chanel and Johnny decided to start telling people and celebrating.
Dimitri was eating in the square when Kristen spotted him. She told him that he owed him money, but he said the blackmail ship had sailed. Kristen told her nephew that she wasn’t living at the mansion and assured him that after what he did to Gwen, he’d be kicked out soon.
At the lab, Gwen and Dr. Rolf argued about his progress until he showed her the rat in a box. “You brought the rat back to life,” Gwen said, shocked. Dr. Rolf said they could soon begin experimentation on humans.
EJ called and yelled at her to come home immediately.
While waiting, Kristen passed the living room. She tried to avoid EJ, but he saw her and wanted to talk. Kristen angrily told EJ what happened with Peter, and that she couldn’t wait to dance on his grave.
When Gwen came home, EJ was livid that she brought Dimitri home without his permission. She said she made a mistake as she didn’t know that he could divorce her and take her money.
EJ told Gwen she had a death wish and that her money was keeping the lab afloat until they made money. Gwen told him about the rats and said they’d be making real money very soon.
As EJ told Gwen that she needed to explain how she intended to frame Dimitri, Cat walked in and interrupted.
