Days of our Lives Recap Dec 23: Peter gets backup, Rafe gets a lead, and Gwen gets what she wants

In the Days of our Lives recap for Monday, December 23, 2025, Peter found an ally in the crypt, Gwen had a girls’ night with Gabi, and Rafe was given a lead in the case of the missing DiMeras.

In the crypt, Tony was enraged at Peter, who claimed to be the forgotten son. Chad tried to bring Theo to consciousness, who was still knocked out on the ground. Peter told them that he had already taken the antidote, but they would be wiped out by the sarin gas.

Kristen couldn’t believe that Peter could hate her that much. Chad and Tony defended Theo and his innocence in anything. EJ told Peter that he was the most cunning and ruthless — and the most like their father.

They asked about Megan, but Peter said she was too obsessed with Bo to be a threat and announced that Stefan was dead. Peter told them that Vivian confirmed it, though he didn’t ask how he died.

Peter shared how he’d had the crypt unsealed, and since no one likes them, no one would come in and find them.
Peter lost his temper blaming Stefano for everything wrong in his life. He said that EJ was every bit their father. Chad told Peter if his plan was to get them to turn against EJ, it was going to fail. “Because what you’re doing to us, EJ would never do,” Chad said.

Chad called Peter a loser and said that all he did was get them all to band together against him. “Not me. I’ll never turn against you, Peter. You’re my one true brother,” Kristen said.

Kristen approached Peter and convinced him that she could never turn on him. She said he was her brother, but screamed at the rest of them. Peter told Kristen to get behind him so he could save her.

EJ and Chad begged Peter not to kill them but he said no. As he went to remove the lid of the vial, Kristen knocked him out. 

Rafe came to the office to find Cat on his computer. She said she’d been up all night but was onto something. Cat shared that shortly after Rafe called Peter to warn him that DiMeras were going missing, someone using one of his known aliases flew to Aremid.

Leo called and pretended to be from the hospital accounting office, wanting to check up on a delivery to the clinic. Cat figured out it was Leo and hung up.

At home, Javi and Leo went over the details of their wedding. Leo was going to ask Chad to be his best man, but couldn’t since he was missing.

Leo noted that Gwen likely got EJ not to hurt him, and did warn him, and took it as an olive branch. He suggested that they invite her to the wedding. Javi was good with it if that was what Leo wanted.

Rafe came home and told Leo that he knew he’d called Cat pretending to be someone from the hospital. He told Leo that it wasn’t a game and if he knew anything about the DiMeras disappearances, he’d better tell him. 

Leo told Rafe that he suspected something was going on in the lab, and Javi backed him up. Cat called and said she talked to Rachel Blake on the phone. Rachel told her that Peter had her caretaker rent him a car, and he was only at the house a few hours a couple of days ago.

Cat told Rafe that she called a DiMera groundskeeper, who said he’d heard strange noises coming underground due north of the crypt. When Rafe hung up, Leo shared that he, too, had heard a weird noise in the same area. Leo told Rafe about the Halloween tour and how he thought it was a prank, but now questions it.

Gwen invited Gabi over and toasted a drink with her for Christmas Eve. Gwen told Gabi that she wanted to bring in the new year with a bang, and she’d need a Gabi Chic original. Anticipating Gabi’s reaction, she told her the budget, which opened Gabi’s mind to the possibilities.

Gabi and Gwen talked about Stefan, Dimitri, and the missing DiMeras. Gwen said she hoped Stefan turned up soon. Gabi admitted she committed the ultimate betrayal, but Gwen said at least her husband didn’t cheat on her with her best friend and a bloke.

Gwen and Gabi sat down and shared some laughs. When Leo’s wedding came up, Gwen said she was happy for him. Gabi said she heard him and Javi talk about how much Leo missed her. Gwen was touched and said that she missed him as well.

When Gabi realized how much the eggnog had gotten to her, she caught a ride share to go home. She told Gwen she’d tell Leo how much she missed their friendship. Once alone, Gwen called someone and said she’d need a New Year’s Eve date for a wedding.
