TL;DR: In today’s Days of our Lives recap for Tuesday, August 4, 2026, Leo found Gwen in Alamainia but walked straight into Dimitri’s trap, Javi decided to follow him, Xander reflected on his future with Sarah, and Brady and Marlena feared something had happened to Kristen.

Days of our Lives Recap August 4

Javi and Gus were sleeping when Javi started having a nightmare about Dimitri and Leo in bed together. Leo wanted to reunite, but Dimitri wanted him to pay for humiliating him with rejection. As Dimitri attacked Leo, Javi bolted upright in bed, calling out his name.

Javi explained to Gus that he was worried about Leo being alone with Dimitri, as he might ravage him and then hurt him, and wanted to go to Alamainia. Javi admitted that he wasn’t good at worrying from a distance. Gus told him that he cared about him, but if he went away, he’d be the one worrying at home.

Gus asked why Javi would want to travel thousands of miles for his ex. Javi said that Leo didn’t have anyone. Gus understood that Javi cared about his ex, and said that made him a good person. “I trust you, and I trust in us,” Gus told him.

Gus added that if something happened to Leo while he kept Javi home selfishly, he wouldn’t forgive himself, and it would always come between them. Javi couldn’t believe it that he had Gus’ blessing to go to Alamainia.

Leo Finds Gwen — and Dimitri’s Trap

In Alamainia, Leo deduced that Dimitri was holding Gwen in the same house that she’d held him. He found it easier than he thought he would.

At the Alamain mansion, Dimitri told Gwen he’d be a much better host to her than she’d been to him. He said he planned on keeping her there forever. All of a sudden, Leo burst in, claiming that Dimitri’s goons knew he was coming.

Leo explained how he figured it out and how important Gwen was to him, so he had to come save his best friend. Dimitri asked Leo if he ever thought about him. Leo told him that he came there only for Gwen.

Dimitri knew that caring side was why he loved Leo so much. He told him that he knew that would bring him to Alamainia, and then Leo realized that Dimitri planned to keep him there, too. He asked for how long, and Dimitri told him however long it took him to realize that they were meant to be together.

Brady and Marlena Worry About Kristen

At the pub, Sarah joined Brady and Rachel. When Rachel told her that Kristen was in Aremid but would be coming there soon, Sarah offered to leave, but Brady said no. After Rachel went to call back a friend, Brady told Sarah he’d noticed an awkward vibe when she first came in.

Sarah said he was in a new phase with Rachel home, and Kristen involved more in his life. Brady agreed but thought that Sarah would be okay with it. Just then, Brady got a text from Kristen, letting him know that she had to go away and it was very important. Brady and Sarah wondered what could be more important than her daughter.

Marlena Cautions Xander

Xander was cheerful when he went to see Marlena and told her about being locked in the wine cellar with Sarah and how they felt the chemistry between them. He said they were about to kiss when Philip opened the door and interrupted, but for the first time in a long time, he felt like he and Sarah could reunite.

Marlena was sure it was a lovely moment, but cautioned Xander not to think it meant Sarah would want to be back together. She warned that until Xander dealt with his anger issues, any relationship she had would wind up in the same place.

Xander reminded Marlena that he’d been doing everything she’d asked for months and knew he wasn’t going to take a baseball bat to anyone’s knees anymore. Marlena didn’t appreciate his humor but did say she was proud of how hard he’d worked and how far he’d come. “The thing is, you also have to look at things from Sarah’s perspective,” Marlena advised. She knew Xander would like a reconciliation but didn’t think chemistry was enough to build a life on. Just then, Marlena got a distress call from Brady that there was an emergency and he needed her.

Sarah Is Left Wondering

Marlena cut her session with Xander short and went to the pub. Brady told her that he needed her help to break the news to Rachel that Kristen wasn’t coming home and they didn’t know why.

Marlena said she would but recommended they wait a bit in case they could get more information. “Brady, are you thinking what I’m thinking?” Marlena asked. She recalled how Kristen said if anything happened to her, that she wanted Marlena to help take care of Rachel. Brady thought it was time to loop in Steve.

Sarah saw Xander in the square and mentioned being in the wine cellar and how pathetic she’d acted with the mouse. She tried to bring up the almost-kiss, but he played it so cool that she was confused.
