Days of our Lives Recap August 25: Gabi Changes Philip’s Plans, Xander Hides His Fury, and Jack Reconnects With Gwen

TL;DR: In today’s Days of our Lives recap for Tuesday, August 25th, 2026, Gabi insists on joining Philip in Monte Carlo, while Sarah agrees to move in with Brady, and Xander struggles to keep his temper in check about it. Jack reaches out to Gwen, and Javi opens up to Gabi about his complicated feelings for Leo and Gus.

Days of our Lives Recap August 25

At Julie’s, Chad was happy when Jack brought home the kids. Charlotte was excited about the father-daughter dance coming up, but wanted a favor. She said her friend didn’t have a dad and wanted to go to the dance, too.

Charlotte asked Chad if she could share him, and he agreed to call the girl’s mom the next day to make the arrangements. After the kids were asleep, Julie told Chad that she didn’t think it was a good idea for him to go to Italy with Belle.

Sarah Makes a Decision

In the square, Sarah told Brady that she and Victoria would be happy to take him up on his offer to move in, since the Kiriakis mansion was being sold. They went to his place, and he told her she could have his room. Sarah wasn’t looking forward to telling Xander that she was moving in.

Meanwhile, at Titan, Philip told Kate not to throw in the towel yet, and to give him a week to try one more time to save Victor’s legacy. He wouldn’t share any details, but when they agreed to wait, he left.

Xander told Kate he would call the realtor and try for an extension, noting that the buyer was an Italian billionaire with a hedge fund. He said if he wasn’t given the extension, he’d have to sign the contract.

Jack Reaches Out To Gwen

Leo and Gwen saw one another in the square and talked about Lexie and EJ. Gwen was shocked when Jack walked up and asked for a hug. Leo watched Gwen be uncomfortable for a moment, then gave them some alone time.

Jack reiterated to Gwen that he meant it when he said he wanted to make an effort in their relationship. “You’re my child,” he said. Gwen told him that as long as Jennifer was in the picture, they couldn’t be one big happy family.

Jack told Gwen that Jennifer was his wife and not going anywhere, and she gave her blessing. He said that JJ, Thomas, and Charlotte all wanted to spend time with her, and hoped that he and Gwen could spend some time together before he returned to Boston. “I’d like that, Jack. Thank you,” Gwen said.

Jack told Gwen to call him Dad, and said she didn’t have to thank him. He kissed her on the cheek before leaving and said he’d text her to make plans. “That sounds good,” Gwen told him.

Javi Confides In Gabi

At home, Javi told Gabi that Gus was upset about Leo and moved out. Javi said that he had moved on and wished he could see that. He said he would always care about Leo, and he loved Gus. 

Javi felt that Gus breaking up with him so suddenly was unfair, but Gabi disagreed. She pointed out that he did the same thing that Javi did to Leo when he believed he had feelings for Dimitri. 

“Being honest with yourself about what your heart really wants can be so hard, especially when you think you shouldn’t want it,” Gabi said. She advised that avoidance and denial never worked. She said that she and Rafe just wanted him to be happy. Javi said he needed to think and went on a walk.

Javi went to the pub and ran into Leo, who was excited about Olivia and how Trey would be a great big brother. He offered to let Javi join him at a table. “Unless you were going to get one for you and Gus?” he added.

Leo admitted that Gus moved out, and Leo said he was sorry to hear that because he didn’t like to see Javi hurt. 

Philip’s Change Of Plans

Philip went to the Hernandez house and confirmed his plans with Gabi. He acknowledged that she was the only one who believed in his ability to win and save the family.

Philip said once she transferred the money to him, he’d wire the casino to confirm his seat at the poker table, then book his ticket to Monte Carlo. “You mean two tickets,” Gabi said.

Gabi told Philip she was going with him. Philip balked but she said the money wasn’t going to Monte Carlo without her. Philip reluctantly said he would make a call to make it happen.

Xander Impresses Sarah

Brady ran into Kate outside; she said she needed to tell him something. “I’m sorry,” she said. She apologized for Titan’s fall, and how it made them lose Basic Black as well.

Meanwhile, Sarah went to the Kiriakis mansion and nervously told Xander that she and Victoria were going to move into Brady’s temporarily. She gave him all the reasons why it made sense, waiting for him to blow up. Xander could feel his temper building, but instead smiled and said it was a good idea.

Sarah couldn’t believe that he responded the way he did, as she was expecting an argument. “I’m very impressed,” she said as Xander beamed.

Xander invited Sarah to join him and Victoria at the daddy-daughter dance. She checked her calendar and said she was available. “Then Victoria and I will see you there,” Xander said warmly.

Xander held up his feigned calmness until Sarah left. He grabbed a stress ball from the desk and squeezed it so hard that it split in half.
