Days of our Lives Recap April 27: Alex Learns He Has a Daughter, Joy’s Secret Friend, Gabi Catches Liam

TL;DR: In today’s Days of our Lives recap, Alex is stunned when Joy introduces his daughter, Kelsey. Gabi exposes Liam at the bookstore,  Ari rips into Sophia over her past actions, Steve gives shooting lessons to Brady and Stephanie, and Joy has a surprising mutual friend.

Days of our Lives Recap April 27

At Titan, Gabi came to see Philip at his request. He handed her the offer to work together, but their conversation was riddled with innuendos, and they had to shut the door for privacy.

Afterward, Gabi looked at the deal and said DiMera’s offer would keep her costs much lower. Philip apologized that they couldn’t give her a better deal, but Gabi accepted it anyway.

Gabi explained that it was 100% personal and what was best for her, Philip, his family, and Titan. He was very appreciative.

Oh, Joy

Alex was surprised to see Joy at his door, but not nearly as shocked as when she said she was there to introduce him to someone. Joy stepped aside and showed Alex a baby in a stroller.

“This is Kelsey, my daughter,” Joy said as he invited them in. Joy told Alex that he probably knew where this was headed, so she just came out and said it. “Kelsey is our daughter,” she revealed.

Joy explained that she’d lied about the negative pregnancy test result and debated it many times before leaving town, whether or not to tell him.

Joy said that Alex’s first words when she told him were “thank god” and she didn’t want her baby growing up unwanted. Alex thought if she was okay being dishonest with him, then about something so huge, she might be lying now.

Alex Holds The Baby

Joy offered a DNA test, but also told Alex that he wasn’t required to do anything. She said she and Kelsey were fine on their own and to take the test only if he wanted to be part of her life.

Joy told Alex that she’d heard through mutual friends that he was anxious to start a family, and she realized she might have misjudged him and that he’d like the opportunity to know his daughter. Alex said he wanted to hold Kelsey.

Alex held the baby and was instantly endeared. When he asked what happened next, Joy said it was up to him. Alex said he needed to talk to Stephanie, noting they were married now.

Joy understood and told him that there was no pressure for what he wanted to do. She added she was staying at the Salem Inn.

Ari Tells Off Sophia

Ari was at the bookstore when Liam came in. She tried talking to him, but he blew her off. Sophia came in and said hello to Ari happily.

Sophia asked where Holly was and was taken aback when Ari warned her to stay away from her friend. Sophia tried to blame everything on Holly and said that she and Ari were liars and fakes.

Ari told Sophia that if she wanted to know why she had no friends, look in the mirror. “You made revenge porn to stop your college professor from adopting your kid. You let my cousin think he was your baby daddy because of a stupid crush. And then you drugged my friend!” Ari snapped.

Sophia reminded Ari that she’d been in a psychiatric hospital to get help. “And I’ve only been out for two days, so would you guys stop trying to send me back over the edge!” Sophia yelled back.

“You guys?” Ari asked, looking around. She noted that she was the only one there and asked haughtily if Sophia had taken her meds. Sophia cried that she was mean and couldn’t believe she’d ever considered her a friend.

Brady and Stephanie Have Shooting Practice

At the gun range, Steve went over safety rules and practiced shooting with Brady and Stephanie. She said that she learned better with some friendly competition, so Brady took the challenge.

Stephanie had been shooting almost bullseyes, but the more she fired, the more flashbacks she had of Owen, and her aim was off.

Frustrated, Stephanie wanted to give up, but Steve and Brady convinced her to try again. Stephanie still had flashbacks, but of her and Owen kissing, and then she aimed better.

Later, the trio went to the pub and talked about Owen and whether he’d be fit to stand trial. Stephanie said Owen knew what he was doing and, delusional or not, he had a plan. She was determined to make sure he saw justice.

Brady mentioned that Tate was going to start teaching martial arts, and Stephanie wanted lessons too. Brady was amazed when Steve bragged that Stephanie was a markswoman, race car driver, licensed skydiver, and by the time the list was complete, Stephanie was feeling pretty good.

Sophia Sets A Trap

In the square, Sophia signed up for the online group under the name LilyLovesLattes. She posted a question asking what was up with this Sophia Choi girl and why everyone hated her.

At the bookstore, Ari read the post, but Gabi came in and interrupted. She said hello, then spotted Liam and called out to say hello — calling him Gage. 

Before he could respond, Gabi read his nametag and demanded an explanation for why it said “Liam.” Gabi knew exactly who he was and blasted Ari for lying to her, then warned Liam to stay away from her daughter. “Don’t worry; I will,” he said earnestly.

Meanwhile, Sophia’s posts got lots of responses, including one from Holly, who called her crazy and total trash.

Brady Asks A Favor

Brady met with Philip and told him what happened: Kate sabotaged Johnny; Marlena found out and no longer wanted to work with her at Basic Black; and Xander was forcing her to if she wanted to work there at all.

Brady told Philip to talk to Xander and get him to back off. Philip told Brady that when it came to business, he and Xander had each other’s backs.

Philip added that Xander wouldn’t budge anyway, even if he tried talking to him about it. He advised Brady that if he wanted to save his dad’s company, this was what they had to do.

Alex And Joy Share Their News

Stephanie was in a great mood when she got home, but Alex was clearly distracted. She could tell he was emotional and asked if he was okay.

Alex told Stephanie to sit down and held her hands across the table as he tried to find the words. “I just found out I have a daughter,” he said.

Meanwhile, in the square, Joy met her “mutual friend.” “You were right, he even wanted to hold her,” she shared. “I knew that he would,” Jeremy smiled.
