Days of our Lives Recap April 24: Joy Wesley’s Return, Kristen Slaps EJ, Theo Named Executor

TL;DR: In today’s Days of our Lives recap, Alex and Stephanie get the romance back by skydiving, Alex is shocked by the return of Joy Wesley, Kristen slaps EJ during a fiery confrontation, Marlena is barred from seeing Rachel, and EJ learns that Theo is the new executor of the will.

Days of our Lives Recap April 24

Alex surprised Stephanie by taking the day off to spend it with her. Stephanie said she slept like a rock now that she had the gun that Steve brought her. She thought it gave her a sense of agency and control of her life.

Alex took Stephanie to go skydiving. She was thrilled to soar through the sky together and said she felt present for the first time in a long time. 

Stephanie and Alex spent the rest of the time kissing and went home for some more. Stephanie had to go meet her dad, but a few minutes later, there was a knock at the door.

Assuming Stephanie had forgotten her keys, Alex opened the door to find Joy Wesley standing there.

Xander Infuriates Sarah 

In the square, Xander pushed Victoria in her stroller and then realized she’d dropped her teddy bear. Johnny walked up with it in hand and told him that he wouldn’t be settling the lawsuit.

Xander advised him to stop telling everyone that he’d been set up or he’d have another lawsuit. Johnny was fuming as Sarah walked up and wanted to know what was going on.

Johnny made a quick exit, and Sarah praised how great he was. She said that not only was he a meaningful competition professionally, but she also suspected Xander was jealous of him.

Sarah asked how the sleepover went, and Xander told her how great it was, and she slept through the night, had a good morning, and now they were out having a good time.

Marlena Tells Brady Her Plans

At the pub, Brady was waiting for Sarah but invited Marlena to join him. She was upset because she’d just come from trying to visit Rachel at Bayview, and found out that Kristen had barred her from seeing her.

Brady wanted to deal with it right away, but Marlena urged him to let things calm down first. She also told him that she’d rethought working with Kate because of what was going on with Johnny.

Marlena really wanted the company to succeed, and said she’d need help. Brady said he would help her until she could find someone to fill in.

After Marlena left, Sarah came in and was furious that Xander “picked a fight with Johnny in front of Victoria and then had the nerve to say her daughter didn’t miss her on her sleepover.”

Brady could relate and was upset with Kristen as well. “Should we do something about it?” Sarah asked. She blindfolded him and took him to the smashing room that he’d brought her to during her divorce.

Kristen Slaps EJ

At the DiMera mansion, EJ prepared to go to probate court to deal with the codicil. Kristen mocked him for worrying he’d been cut out of the will. EJ assured her was not, but said she should be.

The siblings began quarreling, and then Kristen demanded the access codes to the tunnels. He told her they weren’t safe and told her to get her own house in order.

EJ distracted Kristen by telling her that Rachel needed her and got insulting about the state of everything. He knew what buttons to push, and within moments, Kristen slapped him. EJ warned her that she didn’t want to go to war with him.

Xander Pulls Rank With Marlena

Marlena went to see Xander to talk to him about joining Basic Black, but not with Kate. Xander told her that he was the one who got to decide, and the answer was no.

Xander told Marlena she didn’t know the first thing about running a business or the fashion industry, but Kate knew both. He said that if she was making her decision based on something said or not said at his therapy session, it was unethical.

Marlena told Xander she did not like ultimatums. She said she found it disappointing and infuriating that he was trying to paint her into a corner. 

EJ Threatens Sophia

EJ saw Sophia in the square and confronted her for showing her face after the adoption hearing. Sophia clapped back about his relationship with Johnny and hit a nerve. EJ sneered for her to do herself a favor and get out of Salem.

Sophia told EJ she wasn’t scared of him. “You don’t need to be for me to ruin you,” EJ said creepily as he looked her up and down. Kristen walked up and said he must have better things to do than threaten an 18-year-old girl.

Kristen loudly announced that EJ was harassing a young girl who was minding her own business. She credited Sophia for helping Rachel and warned him to stay away from her.

After EJ left, Kristen told Sophia that she’d let her know when the time came to pull the trigger. “And Sophia: Don’t screw this up!” Kristen ordered before leaving.

EJ Gets a Surprise At Probate Court

EJ stopped in the pub and ran into Johnny. He told him he was going to probate court and reminded Johnny that an inheritance awaited. He hoped Johnny would reconsider his position one day on what was rightfully his.

EJ returned rather quickly and said he found out that Theo was named executor of the will, not him. EJ told Johnny that he also found out that Marlena had been added to the list of beneficiaries.
