TL;DR: In today’s Days of our Lives recap, Kristen orders Sophia to carry out a hit on Johnny, while Chanel’s health scare escalates as Sarah orders an urgent mammogram. Xander and Kristen form a new alliance, Kate lies to Roman about sabotaging Johnny, and Brady and Tate reveal career changes.

Days of our Lives Recap April 22

At the hospital, Sarah was frustrated, trying to reach EJ. Xander came by, and they had a civil moment, talking about Victoria and how he would bring her home after dinner.

After, Xander went to his session with Marlena, who asked if it was true that he’d set up Johnny with a plagiarized manuscript. Xander seemed ticked that Marlena asked him under the guise of therapy.

Marlena pressed for the truth and reminded him that if he lied, it would break the conditions of their therapy. Xander told her he had nothing to say because he’d done nothing wrong.

Therapy resumed, and Marlena asked how things were going between Xander and Gwen. He admitted that now that she wasn’t living at the DiMera mansion, spending time with her wasn’t as appealing.

Marlena scolded him, but Xander pointed out that while he could understand her frowning on him using Gwen, he knew she’d agree with taking EJ down.

A Change Of Plans

At the pub, Brady met with Tate, and they talked about his visit with Rachel. Tate told his dad that he wasn’t going to register for the next semester at Salem U so he could become a certified personal trainer instead.

Brady told Tate that he’d decided to become a licensed P.I. Tate said he hadn’t told Holly yet but would after finals were over with. He noted she’d been stressed since Sophia was released.

Brady said the lab hadn’t done the analysis, but with any luck, they would have enough evidence to have Sophia locked back up.

Kate Lies To Roman

Outside, Roman told Johnny that he wished he weren’t staying on at DiMera. Kate walked up, so Johnny made a quick exit without talking to her.

Kate insisted that Johnny was wrong in his assumptions and suggested that he was just too immature to see the situation differently. Roman told Kate that Philip worked for Titan, and it was Victor’s company. He didn’t believe that if she had to make a choice, Kate wouldn’t choose to protect her family over theirs.

Roman said the only way to fix things was to drop the lawsuit, but Kate said she couldn’t.

Lani and Kristen Catch Up

Elsewhere in the square, Lani and Chanel got caught up and then made plans to go to the zoo in the morning. As Chanel left, Kristen walked up and was thrilled to see Lani.

The pair sat down to catch up, and Lani announced that she and Eli were moving back to Salem. She asked about Rachel being locked away, and Kristen got emotional talking about it.

Kristen wanted to see the twins the next day, but Lani said she was going to the zoo with Trey and that Johnny was working from home.

Chanel Explodes At Johnny

Johnny came home and told Chanel that he’d talked to Sarah about getting her in for a check-up and made her an appointment. Chanel blew up and insisted that her lump was normal.

Johnny told Chanel that he wanted her to be healthy, but if there was any chance of something being wrong, it was better to find it early.

Chanel reluctantly went to see Sarah, who wanted to order a mammogram. Chanel wasn’t happy about that and snapped at Johnny for being there.

Sarah was gentle with Chanel and didn’t want to sound the alarm. But when she got to the nurses’ station, she ordered the mammogram to be scheduled as soon as possible.

New Frenemies

Xander went to the DiMera mansion and pretended that he needed to find his earbuds from Gwen’s room, but Kristen prevented him from snooping.

Xander denied his intentions, but Kristen noted that the enemy of her enemy is her friend. “This could be the start of a beautiful friendship,” she suggested.

Tate Warns Sophia

After Tate left, Marlena met with Brady, and he told her about his and Tate’s career changes. Marlena told him that she thought her role at Basic Black was promising, but now didn’t think it would work out.

As Brady left, Roman and Kate came in. Roman said that he’d heard Kate and Marlena could be working together, but Marlena balked and left.

Meanwhile, in the square, Tate saw Sophia and told her to stay away from Holly. Sophia said that Holly threatened to kill her, but Tate told her that she was not the victim.

Tate warned Sophia to stay away from Holly or else. “So you’d be happy never seeing me again?” Sophia asked. “Your words, not mine,” Tate shrugged. Sophia told him to be careful what he wished for.

Tate left, and Sophia got a phone call. Kristin ordered Sophia to get it done tomorrow, as his wife would be gone the whole day. Sophia started to worry, but Kristin said it would be done the next day. “We will take the shot. Clean. Quiet. Permanent,” she added.
