Days of our Lives Recap April 16: Kristen Plots Murder, Javi Drops A Bomb, and Chanel’s Health Scare

TL;DR: In today’s Days of our Lives recap, Kristen is planning murder with Sophia and reveals Rachel shot EJ. Plus, Javi shocks Leo, Chanel faces a health scare, and Xander realizes Sarah and Brady are a couple.

Days of our Lives Recap April 16

In the square, Leo was stunned to see Javi in front of him. Javi told him that his father was doing better, but before Leo could tell him about his feelings, Dimitri came up.

Leo apologized for the awkwardness and knew that Dimitri was hurting, but he didn’t want to talk. He told Leo he wasn’t sorry yet, but he would be.

Javi asked what that was about, so Leo told him that Dimitri was upset as he’d told him that Javi was the one he loved. They sat down on a bench, and Leo clarified that he and Dimitri did not get together while he was gone, and when they went away, it was to clear his name; it wasn’t that they were running off together.

Leo confessed that after Javi’s phone call, he thought they were over forever, and his plan was to move on with Dimitri, but when it came time to pull the trigger, so to speak, he couldn’t do it. Leo explained that it was in that moment that he realized all he wanted was Javi.

“And here I am,” Javi said. Leo told him that he knew he didn’t come back for him, but wanted him to know how he felt in case it helped move him closer to forgiveness.

Javi Drops A Bomb

Javi noted with a smile that Dimitri wasn’t taking the news too well. “He went all scorched-earth-super-villain on me. That guy can be hella scary when he doesn’t get his way,” Leo smiled. 

As they talked, Javi told Leo he was happy he had been working on himself, and smiled when Leo said he made him want to be a better person.

Javi’s smile faded when Leo asked if there was a chance for them to get back together. Javi told Leo that he thought that Leo had moved on, and he was free to do the same. “So I did,” he shared.

Leo was stunned when Javi said he was in another relationship with someone he used to know. Javi told Leo that he was grateful for his experience with him because it helped him discover who he wanted.

Leo was crushed when Javi said it was too late for them, but said he was happy for him, and just wanted what was best for him. 

Johnny Finds a Lump

Chanel dismissed the lump that Johnny found in her breast and said that it was probably nothing, just a symptom of pregnancy. She said that he was convinced something would go wrong and was finding things to worry about.

Chanel refused to lie scared and told him they had to enjoy their lives. While she was telling him to live in the moment, Chanel clutched her side. 

Chanel told Johnny it wasn’t a cramp and got him to feel the baby move. Johnny told Chanel that he was hopeful and positive, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t also concerned about her as well. He asked her to at least call the doctor and be sure everything was fine.

Xander Is Using Gwen

At Titan, Kate told Xander that their plan with Johnny wasn’t going as planned. She said Johnny was staying on as CEO to fight them, and told Roman that they’d tricked him. Xander was determined to make DiMera pay up, one way or another.

Kate admitted that one day Roman would tell her that she’d gone too far, and he’d mean it. Xander said he could relate to that as that was what happened to him.

Xander wondered what EJ must have on Theo to get him to agree to step down, and how to use it to their advantage. He said that thanks to Gwen, he had access to the inside of the DiMera mansion.

Kate asked if Gwen was aware that he was using her, but Xander said she knew they were just having fun and that he was prepared to end things if she got too clingy.

Xander Realizes Brady and Sarah Are Lovers

Sarah and Brady spent the day together and didn’t want it to end, so they went out for dinner, too. At the bistro, Sarah told him a funny story from work, and he said he wanted to hear every other story she had, too. 

After, they were talking about going to Brady’s for “dessert” and canoodling when Xander walked by. He was texting Gwen about a booty call when he spotted them, and his smile faded quickly. He watched as they talked about spending the night together and left arm in arm. 

Kristen Scares Sophia

In the park, Kristen told Sophia the plan: they were going to kill Johnny. Sophia balked, saying that wasn’t what she signed up for, but Kristen said she didn’t have a choice in the matter. 

Kristen warned it was a bad idea to say no to her and said she wanted revenge on Johnny, so this was her only path. Kristen added that people were always trying to take their power.

“Like EJ and Johnny,” Sophia agreed. She wondered what would happen to her if she got caught, but Kristen said, “Stick with me, kid, and you’ll get away with murder.”

While they talked, Sophia figured out that Rachel was the one who shot EJ. Kristen grabbed her face and told her to never speak a word of it to anyone, ever.

Sophia noted that the way Kristen asked her there and told her the plan made it seem like she needed her. Sophia said she needed Kristen as well, but what she was asking her to do came with a lot of risk.

Kristen was amused at how much Sophia reminded her of herself and asked what she wanted to do her bidding.

Sophia revealed that she also wanted revenge on Holly, but said she’d need some additional resources. “I’m sure we can make that arrangement,” Kristen told her.
