Days of our Lives Recap April 14: Maggie vs Kate, Bonnie’s Book Shut Down, and Alex’s Shock

TL;DR: In today’s Days of our Lives recap, Maggie and Kate have a fierce confrontation over authority at Titan, with Kate making a low blow about Maggie and Victor’s marriage. Meanwhile, Bonnie’s book signing is abruptly canceled due to a court injunction in the plagiarism lawsuit. Alex is left heartbroken after finding Stephanie embracing Jeremy.

Days of our Lives Recap April 14

Ari went to the Hernandez house to see Javi, but he was visiting the fire hall. She was shocked but happy when Gabi told her she and Philip were in love and moving into the Kiriakis mansion together. 

Ari advised her mom on how to do her own laundry and to avoid the drama, but she said it was too late. Gabi shared the scene she’d seen between Justin and Bobby.

Ari revealed that she’d read the book and noticed the similarities with One Stormy Night. She wished she hadn’t listened to Liam, who said he didn’t see a problem, and that she’d told Johnny about it to prevent the lawsuit.

Kate’s Low Blows

Kate was none too pleased when Maggie told her that she was restricting her authority at Titan. She made it clear that, moving forward, Kate and Xander weren’t to finalize anything without her sign-off.

Kate told Maggie she didn’t have the backbone to save the company. “I’ve fought harder battles than you, Kate. And I did it without losing my soul,” Maggie clapped back.

Kate told Maggie she was there for optics, not for authority. Then she got personal and noted that she and Victor had been together longer than he and Maggie. “And I gave him a son. What did you give him?” Kate asked.

Maggie told Kate not to reduce her marriage to anything less than what it was. “I was the love of Victor’s life,” she said. Just then, Julie called and asked if Maggie knew about an injunction.

Bonnie’s Book Launch

At the bookstore, Bonnie came for her book signing event, but told Julie that Justin wasn’t coming after their argument about plagiarism. Julie realized that was why DiMera wasn’t backing the event.

Bonnie was already upset that no one was showing up for her book signing, but then a bailiff arrived to give a court order shutting it down until after litigation with Titan.

Bonnie cried as her books were confiscated. Eventually, she left, claiming she needed a stiff drink, a bubble bath, and a 12-hour nap, in that order.

Julie offered Liam a job, and later, he approached Ari. He explained that he’d been distant and dismissive with her because she shouldn’t be around a guy like him.

Jeremy Consoles Stephanie

Alex recalled his fight with Stephanie before she left. She wouldn’t take his calls, and he was worried. Meanwhile, Stephanie had the same flashbacks and wondered what was wrong with her.

Jeremy saw Stephanie in the square, looking upset, and asked if she was okay.

Stephanie confided that Alex was being overprotective, and it made her feel weak. Jeremy told her how bad-ass she was when they were locked up together. He said if he had to be held captive, he was glad it was with Stephanie. 

“I’m so grateful that you stayed with me,” Stephanie told Jeremy. She knew it was awkward to say, given their history, but therapy was teaching her to be honest about her feelings.

Stephanie said she was having trouble connecting with Alex and felt like she was a different person than the one he married. She told Jeremy he was the only one who knew how she felt because they shared the experience.

Alex Sees Jeremy and Stephanie

Alex went to the pub, and Roman offered to make him dinner to take home to Stephanie. When Gabi came in, he confided that he wasn’t feeling as confident as usual.

Alex hoped Stephanie was there when he came home. But when he walked outside, he saw Jeremy hugging Stephanie on a park bench.

Stephanie saw Alex and called him over, so Jeremy went home. Stephanie told Alex that Jeremy was helping her work through some things. “Right, well, I am happy that someone was helping you,” Alex replied.

When they got home, Stephanie didn’t want to talk. Alex told her how much he loved her, and he just wanted to be there for her. Stephanie could see he was hurting too, but she went to bed.
