Days of our Lives New Terrible Twosome: Rachel and Sophia
On Days of our Lives, Rachel may be in treatment to learn how to make better choices, but will she have a chance with Sophia nearby?
Days of our Lives New Terrible Twosome

On Days of our Lives, young Rachel — played by the uber-talented Alice Halsey — finally confessed to her dad, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf), that she was the one who shot EJ (Dan Feuerriegel). Not only that, but she also poisoned Sarah (Linsey Godfrey), right on the heels of shooting a pumpkin cannonball at Alex (Robert Scott Wilson).
While some of Rachel’s missteps could be considered kinda sorta accidents, the doctors told her dad that she lacks impulse control, especially when her emotions are elevated. And, let’s face it, that’s pretty much all the time.
The scenes of Brady leaving a screaming Rachel at the facility were gut-wrenching, but they also highlighted Rachel’s deepest trigger: abandonment. She feels discarded by her father, mother, grandmother, and her brother — and in that vulnerable state, she is ripe for manipulation. Enter Sophia Choi. Literally.
Sophia Can Talk
Viewers were stunned to see Sophia — previously thought to be in a fragile, near-catatonic state — walk into Rachel’s room. Sophia faking her condition and being fully aware of her surroundings changes everything.
Instead of a support system, Rachel has found a co-conspirator. Or is it the other way around? Bayview was supposed to be a safe haven, but it looks like it could become a training ground for one or both girls. Sophia has a bone to pick about her baby’s adoption, and Rachel has yet to find out her dad moved into the same house as Sarah in her absence. Rachel and Sophia are going to find themselves supporting one another, and we can only guess that it will lead to nowhere good.
Without Marlena’s guidance (per Brady’s new rule) and Brady being distracted by Sarah, chances are pretty good that the people who wished they hadn’t missed the signs are definitely going to miss more signs. And let’s not forget Tate, who promised to visit his sister daily at Bayview — and Sophia, whenever he’s there. The only problem is, Tate believes Sophia’s non-responsive act, even though he just found her in Rachel’s room. And with Tate promising Brady not to tell Holly the real reason Rachel is in Bayview, that’s two fewer eyes to be aware of what’s going on.
What do you think? Will Sophia completely corrupt Rachel, or will Rachel teach Sophia how to get revenge? Sound off in the comments!
