On Beyond the Gates, Bill Hamilton has just given Hayley another reason to make sure her plan succeeds — or it could be the one thing that might make her rethink it and spare his life. But if Hayley doesn't kill Bill, will Randy just give up his cut?
Will Hayley Kill Bill on Beyond the Gates
This week on Beyond the Gates, Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) wandered into his living room and almost startled Hayley (Marquita Goings) out of her snake skin. Hayley quickly slammed the laptop shut and jumped to her feet, causing Bill to be instantly curious. Just what had he walked in on? Quick thinking is not one of Hayley's strong suits, but she stamered past enough of Bill's enquiries to change the subject before circling back and adding enough of the truth to dispel her lie.
Hayley was busily browsing properties in St. Barts — where she would like to go live after Bill croaks in her nefarious scheme. A small tropical island in the Caribbean Sea, about 20 miles south of St Maarten, St. Barts is a veritable paradise. But it’s also a French Territory and has an extradition treaty with many countries, including the United States. Hayley might want to take that into consideration, but she didn’t have to, as Bill got involved in her house hunting.
Bill suggested that they have a holiday home, like he once had with Dani (Karla Mosley). Because he genuinely loves Hayley, Bill spotted what he considered to be the perfect waterfront property, and promptly put in an offer.
This surprised Hayley, who still marvelled at how rich people behaved. She was even more surprised when Bill said the offer had been accepted and that they would have their own holiday home together. But then, Bill put the title deed in her name. Now, Hayley has her very own tropical paradise that is all hers once Bill succumbs to her poisoning, and she won’t need to spend it out of her $10 million insurance policy that she intends to cash in on.
This act of love may end up being the one thing that saves Bill’s life, though. The genuine expression of appreciation on Hayley's face when she found out what her husband had done for her was pure joy, and not once, like in other episodes, did her face take on a sinister look.
Hayley could call the whole murder thing off and tell Randy (Maurice P. Kerry) that she no longer wants to go through with it. She could have it all: the partner, the love, the good times, and live a life of luxury without also having to end Bill’s life. Will love save the day? Maybe, as at the time, Hayley looked like she was conflicted between the plan and Bill’s generosity.
, One thing is for sure though: Randy wants his payday! Will he end up trying to take Hayley to the goalpost? Would she swap out Randy if he’s getting in the way of her happiness? And now that Joey has caught her and Randy in a lie, what lies ahead for these troublesome cousins — will either or both make it through this scam without turning on one another to save themselves?

No problem! We have everything you missed in our daily and weekly Beyond the Gates recaps, and all the news of what's coming in our BTG Spoilers, too!

On Beyond the Gates, it’s a rare day that Leslie shows compassion, but her random act of kindness may have just cost her more than she knows.
Leslie Thomas on Beyond the Gates
On today’s episode of Beyond the Gates, Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) was mostly minding her own business while doing her daily hangout at the Fairmont Crest Country Club.
As one of the club’s newest members, Leslie has been making up for lost time for all the years she has been on the outs with the Fairmont Crest elite. Not that she’s in the inner circle now, by any stretch, but the woman wants to be seen, even if it requires making a scene.
But she’s not the only one who has been living on the edge of societal acceptance. Hayley Hamilton (Marquita Goings) was only part of the norm when she was friends with Naomi Hawthorne (Arielle Prepetit). Back then, the best friend of the Dupree granddaughter was welcome everywhere amongst the royalty of the neighborhood. That was, at least, until she had an affair, then ultimately “stole” Naomi’s dad, Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett), and married him.
Hayley had been the most hated person in Fairmont Crest until Leslie arrived. But today, Leslie offered Hayley something she doesn’t see a lot of: friendship. Leslie spotted Hayley trying to make nice with her archnemesis, Nicole Richardson (Daphnée Duplaix), and got quickly banished back to her table, alone.
Leslie found it entertaining, but a con knows a con, so they say, and Leslie could see right through Hayley’s refined demeanor and cool diplomacy. Leslie saw a woman who was using her husband for money, not love, and wondered what her angle was.
Of course, it wasn’t out of judgment. Taking the it takes one to know one approach, Leslie offered to lend a hand to Hayley’s cause. But since Hayley’s “cause” is to kill Bill for a $10 million insurance policy that she’s the beneficiary of, she quickly saw an opportunity.
Hayley went home, batted her eyelashes, and told her husband that mean ol’ Leslie had harassed her with all sorts of scary notions about doing something to harm Bill and get rid of him. Her lawyer husband quickly assessed the solution: he would lodge a formal complaint with the country club and start a paper trail proving Leslie’s threats and harassment, and that would get of her instead.
Unfortunately for Bill, he had just established a suspect in his possible demise. With Hayley poisoning him, his life could really be in danger — and now Hayley will be able to tell everyone that Leslie had it out for her husband, and Bill will have been the one to provide the incorrect proof.

No problem! We have everything you missed in our daily and weekly Beyond the Gates recaps, and all the news of what's coming in our BTG Spoilers, too!

On Beyond the Gates, Maurice P. Kerry shines as the under-the-radar henchman Randy Parker. Off the set, he’s making people scream.
Maurice P. Kerry’s Horror Goes Beyond the Gates
Beyond the Gates’ audiences were shocked last week to find out that not only was Randy Parker (Maurice P. Kerry) the cousin of Mrs. Hayley Hamilton (Marquita Goings), but the two were in on a day-one con to meet, marry, and scam Bill out of his money before disappearing. But when the other woman became the woman scorned, she ordered her cousin to take out her husband, Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett), and collect the $10 million insurance plan instead. Randy didn’t flinch at agreeing to Operation Kill Bill.
But that’s not the only murderous plot that Maurice P. Kerry is involved in. Hot on the heels of rave reviews over his latest flick, Urban Flesh Eaters, Kerry’s new feature, Blood Shine, is terrifying moviegoers. The film is created by the husband and wife team of Emily Bennett and Justin Brooks, the award-winning duo behind Alone With You starring Barbara Crampton.
The folk horror film centers around a New Yorker named Clara, played by Bennett, who Variety described as a “religious zealot who worships light in lonely, sacred rituals.” David Call plays Brighton West, a horror filmmaker who tries to work on his script upstate when “a chance encounter with Clara leads him into an hallucinatory web of faith, flesh, and the sublime.” Clara holds West captive at her remote country home upstate, believing that her sadistic rituals will change him into a god.
Kerry plays Manny, a bartender in a small country bar in upstate New York, where he meets West and helps establish how the audience will likely perceive him. Without giving away any spoilers, Kerry’s role is pivotal to the crux of the plot.
Reviews of Blood Shine
Reactions to Blood Shine are not mixed. Movie Reviews 101 described their experience watching the movie at FrightFest 2025 as “terrifying,” with committed performances and flow. Unsurprising for the genre, the review concluded, “Blood Shine is a disturbing, violent journey into religious extremism.”
Scared Sheepless had similar conclusions. Without giving too much away, it stated, “One sequence in particular will stay with you long after the credits for its captivating beauty and exceptional horror imagery.” The outlet noted that the appearance of several indie genre favorites sealed it for them as a “beautiful, sweaty and messy character drama that will leave you breathless.”
The filmmakers were in Spain over the weekend, showcasing the movie (and receiving more accolades) at the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia.

Did you miss an episode of Beyond the Gates? No problem! We've got daily and weekly BTG recaps to get you caught up on what you missed.

Christmas and New Year's in Fairmont Crest will bring some good cheer to fans of Beyond the Gates — and a crisis to the Duprees.
Beyond the Gates Celebrates the Holidays
On two particular episodes of Beyond the Gates this year, viewers will be treated a musical performance, a special guest, and a legacy gift to the show by one of Fairmont Crest’s own.
On the Christmas Eve episode airing Wednesday, December 24th, and New Year’s Eve, airing on Tuesday, December 30th, Beyond the Gates will be celebrating the holidays.
The two episodes will feature an original song composed by BTG star Clifton Davis, who portrays Vernon Davis. Guest star singer Kenny Lattimore will perform the song and it will be serenaded to ring in the new year.
Meanwhile, hospital colleagues Ted Richardson (Keith D. Robinson) and Shanice Johnson (Ernestine Johnson) are pulled into each other’s romantic orbit. Will Santa bring Ted the family reunion he’s been asking for? Or will June (Jasmine Burke) be able to find a place in his heart? A well-placed (and well-planned) mistletoe hanging might be the start of a new year’s relationship.
But, however Shanice can help Ted’s love life will most likely be to the chagrin of Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant). And how will Ted help Shanice? Will Ashley (Jen Jacob) and Derek’s (Ben Gavin) relationship blow up once she finds out he is lying about his paralysis? If Derek is alone, perhaps Shanice will be back to being interested? Maybe by the holidays, someone new will have crossed Shanice’s path.
As for the Dupree family, they are left reeling from a health crisis. The siutation will bring the entire Dupree family together — not the ideal way we’d imagine the family celebrating the holidays.
With Hayley (Marquita Goings) intent on making a Kill Bill spin-off, will the Duprees be rallying for Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) himself, or will Hayley’s plans go sideways? Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) is pregnant now, but will she be the one to have something go wrong?
Naomi and Jacob (Jibre Hordges) have found themselves at odds with her pregnancy — but they are not the only ones in the family having issues. Anita (Tamara Tunie) and Vernon might not be as solid as everyone has thought.
Stay tuned to CBS and Paramount+ for full episodes of Beyond the Gates, and keep an eye on The Soap Scene for all the updates (and more spoilers) as we get closer to the holidays!

Did you miss an episode of Beyond the Gates? No problem! We've got daily and weekly BTG recaps to get you caught up on what you missed.

On Beyond the Gates this week, expect some new and familiar faces in Fairmont Crest.
Another CBS Sister Show Crossover Event
Thorsten Kaye, who plays Ridge Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful, will be appearing this week on Beyond the Gates in a crossover event. This Friday, Ridge comes to Fairmont Crest to meet with Dani (Karla Mosley).
Ridge’s company, Forrester Creations, is a fashion house. Not only are models a requirement for his business, but he also houses other high-quality lines under the company umbrella. On Friday, Dani has an update for Ridge. Is this related to Pamela (Cady McClain) wanting to recruit Andre (Sean Freeman) as a model? Or does Dani think ChelseaKat would be a perfect fit? Aside from fashion, Dani and Ridge have something else in common — they both got married on a whim this month.
In August, Bryton James left Genoa City and headed for Fairmont Crest. His character on The Young and the Restless, Devon Hamilton, is a record producer, and he was interested in making a solo jazz album with BTG’s Anita Dupree, played by Tamara Tunie.
A New Man For Eva?
David Lami Friebe makes his first appearance this week as Izaiah Hawthorne. Jacob’s (Jibre Hordges) black sheep brother will be meeting Eva Thomas (Ambyr Michelle) on Wednesday at Uptown.
Sparks will fly immediately when Eva and Isaiah meet — will it be love at first sight? Or will Jacob be as vocal with his relationship advice as the opinion he had about Dani and Andre? If so, he might want to take care of his own relationship first. Jacob and his wife, Naomi Richardson (Arielle Prepetit) is about to hit the rocks. Naomi is pregnant and not happy about it, whereas Jacob is practically picking out names and room colors.
How will Jacob’s brother's coming to town affect his mood? That remains to be seen, but Jacob is trying to do what he thinks is the right thing in all aspects of life. From a husband to his career as a cop, Jacob wants to be on the right side of the law and his morals. If Izaiah’s the black sheep, is he on the wrong side of the law?
As for Eva, she’s more than available now that Tomas (Alex Alegria) has once again chosen her half-sister Kat (Colby Muhammad) after leading Eva on. Tomas even suggested that Eva find someone to go on a date with — did she meet Izaiah at just the right moment? Tomas might regret his advice.

Beyond the Gates may not have qualified for the 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, but they were still part of the celebration — and the conversation.
Beyond the Gates Fans Are Already Predicting 2026 Emmys
With the qualification window being cut off on December 31, 2024, Beyond the Gates was not eligible for the 2025 Daytime Emmys as it didn’t premiere until February 2025 — but that isn’t stopping fans from already predicting their domination next year.
With the 2025 year nearing an end (and assuming the qualification window will be the fiscal year), viewers have had a substantial base from which to make predictions for the 53rd Annual Daytime Emmys. That said, it’s a hard pick.
There aren’t many (read: any) cast members who would be a subpar pick for any of the applicable categories. From Ambyr Michelle’s gut-wrenching sobs as Eva Thomas, to Lauren Buglioli’s shock and grief in her portrayal of Vanessa McBride’s reaction that her husband had died, to past roles like Jason Vendryes’ Kenny and Jason Graham’s Doug McBride.
Fans may loathe what Leslie Thomas does, but Trisha Mann-Grant does it so well that it is hard to imagine not hearing her name on the list of nominees next year, if not in the envelope. And speaking of Leslie, her many disguises in themselves will likely garner a nod for costuming (and hair and makeup), although there are plenty of other reasons either team would deserve a nomination.
From the meticulously crafted set design to lighting and direction, it’s easy to foresee nominations across the board. But it’s almost worth betting money that the writing team will be acknowledged, with a strong case for the win — and that’s before we get the full scope of the Randy-Hayley-Bill reveal (portrayed by Maurice P. Kerry, Marquita Goings, and Timon Kyle Durrett).
Presenting Beyond the Gates
While the show wasn’t eligible for nominations this year, there was still a presence from Fairmont Crest. Karla Mosley, who stars on Beyond the Gates as Dani Dupree, was one of the presenters at the 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday, October 17th.
Appearing on stage with Chef Kardea Brown, Mosley presented the Outstanding Talk Series Daytime Emmy, won by Live with Kelly and Mark. Brown later won an Emmy herself when her show, Delicious Miss Brown, received top nod for Outstanding Culinary Series.
See the show that has everyone talking — Beyond the Gates airs weekdays on CBS and streams live and on demand on Paramount+

When we saw Randy Parker leave Fairmont Crest, we weren’t too sure what his future held. Maurice P. Kerry is back to resume the role — but off camera, the actor has been one busy guy. From advocating for U.S. military vets to movie premieres, Kerry is one to keep an eye on.
Kerry has been humbly busy lately. While soap fans know him as Randy Parker, the thug with a heart who works for Beyond the Gates’ mob boss, Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom), Kerry can also be spotted in everything from billboards to PSAs.
Urban Flesh Eaters
Two weeks ago, Kerry walked the red carpet at the premiere of his newest film, Urban Flesh Eaters. Hip-hop legend Rob Base is an executive producer, along with co-writer and executive producer Lynette J. Blackwell. The movie is directed by Eric Dodson and stars Chantal Maurice (Tyler Perry’s Divorced Sistas, Wicked City, Grey’s Anatomy) as Cyn, a nurse and grieving mother trapped in a high-rise apartment and fighting to survive a violent zombie outbreak.
Kerry plays Jackson Blaze, a PTSD-stricken Marine whose reluctant heroism becomes vital to Cyn’s survival. InDaHouse Media said that in his performance, Kerry, “struck audiences as both haunting and heroic.”
The outlet also described the moviegoers' reactions. “Gasps, cheers, and nervous laughter filled the room as the film’s mix of suspense, raw emotion, and relentless thrills kept viewers gripped to their seats,” it reported of the premiere.
U.S. Military Advocate
It was also announced that Kerry has joined the B25 Management group as an actor. The Instagram announcement was captioned, “We’re beyond excited to welcome actor and Marine Corps combat veteran Maurice P. Kerry to the B25 Management family! Maurice brings a unique blend of military expertise and entertainment experience, making him the perfect addition to help us bridge the gap between military service and the world of storytelling. We’re thrilled to have him on board for all things military-related and can’t wait to see the incredible impact we’ll make together!
Maurice P. Kerry Gets Some Luv
Kerry has also been nominated for Top Leading Actor at The People’s Luv Choice Awards. Founded by Cori Luv, host of The Cori Luv Show, the awards were created to give independent filmmakers, actors, creatives, and changemakers a space to be seen, celebrated, and supported — in an industry where many voices go unheard.
The People’s Luv Choice Awards is a celebration of independent excellence, creative resilience, and community recognition, honoring those who are bold enough to create, brave enough to share, and committed enough to keep going.
This year’s awards will be celebrated on December 6, 2025, at Studio House Atlanta.

From birthday celebrations to fundraising, the BTG family spends quality time together — and keeps growing!
Cady McClain Shares Beyond The Camera
On Instagram, Cady McClain (Pamela) posed with some of the crew. She captioned, “On a break with Vincent and Kiera, two members of the ferocious camera crew of “Beyond the Gates”! These are some of our heroes that make the show look so great day after day, capturing the epic moments of drama and the gorgeous sets, costumes, and looks! We couldn’t do it without them!!”
October is National Down Syndrome Awareness Month
At the I Have A Voice Gala, some of the cast shared a table. “And yes, we’re still mourning Doug,” Lauren Buglioli (Vanessa McBride) quipped as she posted photos with her costars Tamara Tunie (Anita Dupree), Sean Freeman (Andre Richardson), Jen Jacob (Ashley Morgan), Colby Muhammad (Kat Richardson), and Trisha Mann-Grant (Leslie Thomas).
“Thank you @gigisatlanta for a magical evening at the “I Have A Voice” Gala. What an honor to see the incredible impact #GigisPlayhouseAtlanta has on the families it serves through its free, life-changing programs for children and adults with Down Syndrome,” Buglioli captioned. The Gala was to celebrate individuals with Down Syndrome and to help fund free, life-changing programs at GiGi’s Playhouse.
Two Weeks To Vote
Show some “luv” to Maurice P. Kerry, Beyond the Gates’ Randy Parker. Kerry has been nominated for Top Leading Actor at The People’s Luv Choice Awards.
Founded by Cori Luv, host of The Cori Luv Show, the awards were created to give independent filmmakers, actors, creatives, and changemakers a space to be seen, celebrated, and supported — reflecting LUV from the people, for the people.
You can vote for Kerry now through October 21st. Also nominated for Top Lead Actress is Kerry’s friend and actress, Dominique Madison, who, like Kerry, has appeared in Kountry Wayne skits during her notable career in television and film.
ICYMI
Two major events happened this weekend at Beyond the Gates. While cast and crew were celebrating the 80th birthday of Clifton Davis (who plays Dupree family patriarch Vernon Dupree), his costars were more than happy to share their love and some behind-the-scenes photos and videos.
In one such video, eagle-eyed fans spotted actor Greg Vaughan, and the internet immediately lit up with questions. Turns out the speculation was confirmed by morning, and the Days of our Lives actor (Eric Brady) is indeed the newest addition to the show. Stay tuned to The Soap Scene for more details to come!

UPDATE: It has been confirmed that Greg Vaughan is joining the cast of Beyond the Gates. The details are under wraps right now — stay tuned to The Soap Scene for more information.
What started as a heartfelt tribute to a castmate turned into a viral sensation this weekend when Trisha Mann-Grant shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse into Clifton Davis’ birthday celebration.
Why Greg Vaughan Was On the Set of Beyond the Gates
Trisha Mann-Grant, who plays the usually unkind Leslie Thomas on Behind the Gates, posted on Instagram this morning some of her behind-the-scenes photos in a gallery of videos and pictures. The post was meant to be a tribute to beloved cast member Clifton Davis (Vernon Dupree) for his 80th birthday, but the post about the man who told Leslie to “choose silence” ended up causing an internet firestorm of conversation all day today.
Mann-Grant had captioned the post, “Celebrating our cast mate @thecliftondavis on his 80th birthday, October 3rd!! (Hey Clifton, mine is on November 3rd so you better be there!😁) He made me cry y’all. He was genuinely surprised by the cast, crew and producers. Great job on the cake @elleq.everything 🎂💕This was such a special day for our very own “Vernon”. The @beyondthegatescbs Fam loves you dearly Clifton! Keep shining your light!”
Fans took in every moment — and then some. In a photo of the festivities, there was Sheila Ducksworth in the center of the frame in a moment of the reel that only lasted as long it takes to blink their eye.
That was all it took for fans to see something shocking: Greg Vaughan was on the set.
The internet lit up instantly, with fans abuzz with speculation. Vaughan was last seen in June on Days of our Lives as Eric Brady, officiating at Andrew (Colton Little) and Paul’s (Christopher Sean) wedding. Vaughan has played the role since 2012. Before that, he was Lucky Spencer on General Hospital, vacating the role for Jonathan Jackson’s return. He also had a stint on The Young and the Restless as Diego Guttierez.
Greg Vaughan on Beyond the Gates
While Vaughan could have just been a guest at the birthday celebration, there are reports that he recently moved to Atlanta, where BTG is filmed. Fans are hoping that he is the show’s newest cast member. But who would he play?
Options are wide open given the newness of the show, but one possibility is that the hospital is missing a brain surgeon, with the recent resignation (and then demise) of Doug McBride (Jason Graham). Another theory is that Vaughan would be a new suitor for Nicole Richardson (Daphnée Duplaix).
Of course, both options are possible. With Beyond the Gates only seven months into its first year (although it’s already been renewed for two more), we’re just scratching the surface of backstories. Whether Vaughan is a character from someone’s past, a new character, or even joining the show remains to be seen.
Stay posted to The Soap Scene for the details as soon as this, or any other news breaks!

It would be easy to come down hard on Tomas (Alex Alegria) for playing two sisters. But if we’re going to judge — and yes, we will — let’s be fair. There are three people in this triangle, and while there’s plenty of hurt feelings to go around, let’s give blame and credit where they’re due.
Tomas has taken most of the heat for what’s gone wrong in this scenario. And not just Tomas, but Alex Alegrio as well. But don’t hate the player — hate the game. Sometimes it’s easy to just assume that Tomas is an indecisive waffler, if not a user of two women who might both just be out of his league to begin with.
Being the eager-to-succeed young lawyer, Tomas wants it all — and there’s nothing wrong with that. He’s got the job and the potential; all he needs now is the look. And by that, he means having a Dupree descendant on his arm to be seen with in Fairmont Crest. He’s doing his best to model himself after his boss, Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durett), and being seen with Kat at the country club definitely makes the statement he wants.
But while Tomas shouldn’t be messin’ with two sisters, the shot he missed was letting go of Kat once and for all. He thinks Kat’s the match he needs, but she’s never been. They don’t connect where it matters, but he caught the feels, and now he’s hooked. He woulda-shoulda-coulda moved on, but seeing first hand that she still cared when she caught him coming out of Eva’s shower was enough for that boy to want to go running back.
If we (and she) were honest, Kat (Colby Muhammad) never wanted Tomas to begin with. She was attracted to him, but her inexperience had her unable to handle the smallest of obstacles without freaking out. She didn’t need to make much of an effort with Tomas though, he was already willing to do the work she didn’t know how to do. And so this couple had never connected when Kat realized that he did have a connection with Eva. And that’s when Kat’s interest in her own boyfriend suddenly intensified.
As for Eva (Ambyr Michelle), it’s hard to fingerpoint in her direction when she had great chemistry with someone who truly understood her, and vice versa. Yep, he had a girlfriend, and she did back away, but the friendship was kept intact. Sure, maybe she should’ve cut off contact knowing that he was involved with Kat, regardless of their bumpy ride, but when the girl you know he shouldn’t be with is also your arch enemy, it’s hard to blame her for not caring about those boundaries.
Besides, we don’t have to punish her for that. Tomas and Kat’s ping pong match took a beating on Eva’s heart anyway. Whatever games Tomas and Kat want to keep playing, we can only hope that Eva moves on…quickly

Did you miss an episode of Beyond the Gates? No problem! We've got daily and weekly recaps to get you caught up on what you missed.

From TomKat & Eva to pregnancy (and not), here's what caused a scene this week on Beyond the Gates.
Stealing the SCENE
This can be summed up in two words: Ambyr Michelle. Once again, she took a scene, you think you know where it’s going, you think you can foresee the reaction she’s about to give, and…nope. This time, it was when Tomas (Alex Alegria) did the most Tomas thing ever, and, well, long story short, he made her feel like her mother.
Ambyr Michelle doesn’t just steal a scene. She owns it. Not to be dramatic, but even someone lacking empathy would feel what Eva is feeling when her voice chokes up, her heart is in her throat, and angst pours out from her soul with every tear. Just give her an Emmy already.
That was obSCENE
Speaking of Tomas, is this guy out of chances yet with Kat (Colby Muhammad) and Eva? That leopard’s not going to change his spots, but can someone send Vernon (Clifton Davis) over to have a chat with those two half-sisters about what they deserve in life from a man — because Mr. Wafflepants isn’t it!
Behind the SCENEs
Did you get a ChelseaKat Dream Bag? Then, thanks to you, they’ve sold out already! If you’re like me and couldn’t decide which color you wanted quickly enough, you can join me on the waiting list for the next drop.
SCENE but not heard
Naomi’s (Arielle Prepetit) reaction to getting pregnant somewhat puts the writing on the wall of the strain this could put on her marriage. But the way she explained her feelings was spot on for many women. It was a surprising conversation, with some pretty raw observations, and it probably resonated with familiarity to many.
When Naomi realized how excited Jacob (Jibre Hordges) was, but had to tell him that he wasn’t listening, it took a turn. It was an interesting insight into their relationship that he could set aside his reaction to hear her feelings without judgment. Whatever they choose to do, if they can keep up that type of respectful conversation, hopefully their relationship will stay intact.
Anddddddddd…SCENE!
Typically, when a new character arrives, especially one that is younger, we, as viewers, naturally give them a few scenes (if not a few episodes) to find their groove in the role. There’s chemistry to build, familiarity amongs characters, a bit of a flow of energy as they get in sync with the others. But that didn’t happen this week.
Donnell McBride (Alex Cheeks) blew into town with a mission: he wanted answers about his father’s death. From crying to his mom, Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli), to confronting mob boss Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom), Cheeks showed up this week like he’d been a day one cast member and we’d better catch up.
No learning curve needed here; Cheeks played every emotion authentically and flawlessly, and we’ve already forgotten what life in Fairmont Crest was like without him.

Beyond the Gates’ Maurice P. Kerry
Maurice P. Kerry may play hardcore Randy Parker on Beyond the Gates, but the man in black went pink for BET Her TV's The Waiting Room.
Each episode of BET Her TV’s The Waiting Room sheds light on the realities Black women face in their fight against breast cancer. The show tells the stories of women facing this fight head-on: the fears, the strength, the reality. These are the stories that remind us why early detection and support matter so much.
In the second episode of its fourth season, Maurice P. Kerry plays the brother of a woman who hasn’t gone for a mammogram, but has found a lump. When he’s apprised of the situation, Kerry’s character lays into his sister, reminding her of a family history of breast cancer. She eventually concedes to get checked.
Kerry's "sister" is played by Claressa Maria Shields — professional boxer and former mixed martial artist from Flint, Michigan. In 2012, she became the first American woman to win an Olympic boxing gold medal in London. Despite her historic achievement, she received little recognition and no sponsorships or endorsements. Shields is a three-division champion and has won multiple championships. In 2025, her gloves were inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. In "The Waiting Room," Shields' character is in for the fight of her life.
The BETHer Health Initiative is directed by actress, humanitarian, and entrepreneur @thereallraye1, executive produced by @ceoazarel, written by @officialksenay, and stars @claressashields @mauricepkerry @shaletmonique, and @iamprincesselm

From Disney World to real-life handbag launches, see what the cast of Beyond the Gates is doing out and about, when they're not filming.
It’s The Birthday Girl!
Colby Muhammed, who plays BTG's Kat Richardson celebrated her birthday this weekend. As Kat, Muhammed has given us quite the year on Beyond the Gates, with highlights including being Jacob's (Jibre Hordges) unpaid, unbadged, and unauthorized partner, who attempted to find justice for Laura (Destiny Love) and her family by taking down Fairmont Crest's femme fatale, Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant). Among other notable moments, her tumultuous relationship with Tomas and Eva has provided us with plenty of soapy drama to watch, culminating in the ultimate betrayal (don’t think we didn’t notice the girl had to deal with THAT on her big day — both on screen and off)
Don’t Forget Your Purse
And, in a case of art imitating life, ChelseaKat also went off-screen to get some real-world street cred in the form of a collaboration with Alexandria Alli of F&W Style, giving fans access to their very own Dream Bag, as seen on Beyond the Gates.

Is That A Ghost We See?
Jason Vendryes wasn’t in Fairmont Crest a long time — he wasn’t even there for a good time, but his character, Kenny, made a lasting impression on everyone. Just when we wondered how far he would go, he was stopped short by a team of men we did not see coming. Unfortunately, neither did Kenny, and he got knocked off. But that didn’t stop his fan base from holding on to his memory on Beyond the Gates (and he gifted us with invaluable “They killed Kenny” memes). This week, he was spotted at Disney World, visiting the Haunted House, which is always ready for the season but now sporting its Jack Skellington decor. As for Vendryes, maybe it’s time for Martin to have another nightmare?
Karla Mosley Went South For Dream Camp
Karla Mosley (Dani Dupree) shared photos from her weekend in Alpharetta, Georgia, at an event called “Soaps In The South.” She joined Scott Clifton (Liam Spencer, The Bold and the Beautiful), Daniel Goddard (Professor Dalton, General Hospital), Adam Huss (Nikolas Cassadine, General Hospital), and J Eddie Peck (Cole Howard, The Young and the Restless) for a backyard barbecue, games, raffles, and other events as they met their fans and raised money for Camp Dream.

On Beyond the Gates, what’s the deal with Carleton? He’d offered to make Ted look good when he won her back, but it seems his long-time buddy had other ideas.
Why is Carleton Ditching His BFF on Beyond the Gates?
Dr. Carleton Fitzegerald (Robert Christopher Riley) didn’t make a grand entrance when he first began appearing in Fairmont Crest. The cosmetic surgeon was a long-time friend of Dr. Ted Richardson (Keigh D. Robinson) — the pair had attended med school together long ago.
We saw Carleton at Nicole’s (Daphnée Duplaix) gala for the Distinguished Service Award that she received. Ted and Nicole were both warm and friendly with him; he was clearly a good family friend. More than just a friend, though, Carleton and Ted are business partners, owning a cosmetic surgery practice together.
Through conversation, Carleton was mildly flirty with Nicole back then. Nothing serious, it seemed, just more charming or flattering with a twinkle in his eye…harmless, right? Since Carleton claimed to be unlucky in love, he said he was decidedly single. But was that the real reason, or were his flirtations with Nicole more than anyone realized?
Carleton was the Hero…or was he?
At Nicole and Ted’s anniversary party, Carleton was a guest when Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) blew up their marriage by announcing that she not only had an affair with Ted twenty-ish years prior, but he fathered her child.
In fact, Carleton was the hero who had found Eva (Ambyr Michelle) trapped in a closet. Leslie had tricked her daughter into getting into the closet then locked her in it to stop her from preventing her big reveal to Nicole in front of everyone.
Needless to say, Ted and Nicole’s marriage blew up spectacularly after Leslie’s announcement. Humiliated, Nicole was devastated and has been spending time with Carleton ever since. But…why?
What does he know — and since when did he know it?
Okay, yes, he was a family friend. But he is Ted’s best friend and business partner. Shouldn’t he be spending time with Ted, or getting him to focus on work, and not canoodling with his wife? The way Carleton speaks of, to, and in front of Ted, he’s acting like he barely knows the guy and is on TeamNicole all the way.
Did Carleton know who Leslie was all along — the “Dana” that had the affair with his best friend all those years ago? Had he been harboring resentment about Ted’s affair all these years?
Regardless of Carleton’s intentions or how long he’s been lusting after his best friend’s wife, Nicole is having some severe trust issues right now. What is she thinking, getting involved with a man who clearly has no loyalty to his BFF of decades and business partner, without so much as a word?

The Scene Stealer
For a young show, Beyond the Gates has gifted us so many memorable moments already. Right out of the gate(s), Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) tried running someone off the road, there was the slap heard ‘round the world, and the guttural sobbing that Eva (Ambyr Michelle) did when Leslie kicked her out. But this week, Lauren Buglioli as Vanessa McBride answered Jacob’s (Jibre Hordges) call, and transformed before our eyes.
Vanessa can be a lot of things: loyal, light-hearted, quick-witted, and always up for a good time, with a savvy business sense and fearless — but can turn on the wide-eyed innocent look at any given moment. But when she was told that her husband, Doug McBride (Jason Graham), had died in a car crash, we saw a version of Vanessa we didn’t know existed.
Not that we’d want to tap into someone’s shock and profound grief often, but there was something so well done about those scenes that it had one word on every viewer’s mind: Emmy.
If you’ve seen Bad Monkey (and if you haven’t, grab your remote), you’ll know already that Lauren Buglioli can do a great [spoiler] scene (almost blew that one…whew!). But Heather with the Weather has nothing on Buglioli’s version of a stunned Vanessa who just lost her husband of decades, the father of her children, and her kinda-open-marriage-best-friend. We wanted to reach through the screen and hug her…while whispering “Emmy.”
Casuing a Scene
Apparently people are having trouble with math. Seeing Leslie gift Eva a house had them scrambling to their calculators, and complaining that it didn’t add up. She was given a million dollars, isn’t it spent by now? Not according to showrunner Michele Val Jean, who set the record straight on X:
“Okay, you guys dogging us about Leslie & her trust? In episode 117 the lawyer says this is the INITIAL disbursement. In 118, Vernon and Anita discuss how the trust has grown into a “veritable fortune’ over time. There’s lots more money than that 1 million.” — Michele Val Jean on X.
Love Scene
Dani (Karla Mosley) and Andre (Sean Freeman)’s shotgun wedding didn’t stay in Vegas for more than a server update when the whole world discovered they’d tied the knot before they could say annulment. But Anita, Vernon, and Nicole summoning their new son-in-law for answers, and not Dani herself was odd. Will these two stay married? We’re for it either way, although the ink could dry on the marriage certificate before she cheated with Bill, no?

Joey (Jon Lindstrom) was a man of action this week on Beyond the Gates, asking Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) to move in with him — and her reactions told him all he needed to know about her mindset. Joey knows he can manipulate her as he wishes because Vanessa is as addicted to Joey as Doug (Jason Graham) is to gambling. Vanessa needs the thrill of danger, and of being a bad girl — and Joey provides both in spades.
Joey clearly would love to have Vanessa all to himself, and this week, we may just see him make moves to that end. It was all set in motion when Doug thought he could count on old college buddy Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durett). Little did Doug know that Bill and Joey do favors for each other, and to Bill, Joey is far more valuable an ally than Doug is or ever could be.
Bill told Joey all the details about Doug wanting to pin the money laundering on Joey. But Bill believes Doug's claims that he doesn't want Vanessa to go down with him is just lip service. Would Doug really sacrifice Vanessa in getting back at Joey? While he still cares about her, Doug's self-esteem is at an all-time low. Doug had started digging his hole some time ago, but Vanessa's affair with Joey was a step too far.
Doug could handle Vanessa’s indiscretions and dalliances just fine, and he accepted that it was the shape of their relationship now, after the kids left home. Joey is an entirely different situation. It was Joey who targeted Doug’s gambling to force him into such debt that the only way out was to give him Vanessa, both literally and figuratively. To say Doug despises Joey would be an understatement and Vanessa may just be collateral (and acceptable) damage now.
Joey knowing about Doug's plans to bring him down makes this all the easier now; all he needs to do is have Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) safely out of the way then he can take care of Doug. As we know in Fairmont Crest, accidents happen all the time, just ask Kenny (Jason Vendryes) — oh wait, you can’t, he’s dead.
Spoilers show Doug at the Casino talking to one of Joey’s men on the inside, Detective Marcel Malone. (Darryl W. Handy) Look out, Doug, you may not be as safe as you think, and with Doug’s night going from bad to worse this week, coupled with Jacob delivering some earth-shattering news and Nicole consoling a friend, it’s not hard to imagine that Joey may be taking care of business in a big way in the days ahead. And that, soap fans, is what’s making a scene this week on Beyond the Gates.
