The Bold and the Beautiful: Ridge’s Best Solution to the Brooke and Steffy Power Struggle

On this week’s The Bold and the Beautiful, Ridge Forrester finds himself in an uncomfortable position as a husband, father, and boss. His wife, Brooke Logan, has decided she wants the co-CEO role at Forrester Creations, a position currently held by his daughter, Steffy Forrester.

Brooke Wants Steffy’s Position

This week, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) will tell Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) about Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) request, and Steffy is unlikely to accept the news quietly. From her point of view, it’s a bit of a blindside that Brooke would be asking her to surrender a job she has worked hard to maintain. Brooke may believe she would be a stronger executive partner for Ridge, but that does not mean Steffy should simply step aside because her stepmother has decided she wants the title.

The situation is complicated because Brooke’s decision follows a conversation with her daughter, Hope Logan (Annika Noelle). Hope genuinely believes her mother is more qualified and would bring better leadership to the company, but Steffy finds out that the idea came from Hope, she’ll see it as manipulation.

Steffy has long believed that Hope influenced Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) during the Forrester Creations takeover. Although Steffy seems to have forgiven Carter for stealing her family’s company, she has continued to blame Hope and views her as someone who interferes whenever she does not get her way. If Steffy learns that Hope encouraged Brooke to pursue the co-CEO role, she will likely see it as yet another attempt to undermine her authority.

Steffy’s Leadership Has Been Personal

Steffy’s frustration may be understandable, but her own leadership has often been shaped by personal feelings rather than purely business considerations. That has been especially clear in her treatment of Hope and her line, Hope for the Future, which has been sidelined for more than a year.

Whether intentional or not, Steffy’s decisions have frequently appeared to be driven as much by her ongoing conflict with Hope as by any objective business strategy. That raises legitimate questions about whether she is always acting in the best interests of the company.

Brooke Has Not Earned the Right to Replace Steffy

At the same time, Brooke’s assumption that she can step into Steffy’s role simply because she believes she would do a better job is difficult to justify. There has been no talk that Steffy is being removed for poor performance, and no formal restructuring has been announced.

Brooke may have experience and confidence, but that alone does not entitle her to displace someone who is already serving in the position. Most people don’t just walk into an office, point to someone at a desk and demand their position — and get it. But, this is Forrester Creations.

Carter Is the Most Logical Choice

Obviously, if Ridge entertains Brooke’s request (and spoiler: he does), then it puts him in quite the position of having to choose…which, let’s face it, is pretty much Ridge’s comfort zone. However, there is an alternative.

Carter’s rise to power may have been controversial, but his performance was widely viewed as strong. Employees respected him, trusted his judgment, and consistently turned to him with concerns. That level of confidence is not something Ridge and Steffy always inspire, particularly when family drama often overshadows business decisions.

Ridge does not actually have to choose between his wife and his daughter. Instead of forcing Steffy out or handing Brooke a title she has simply decided she wants, he could appoint Carter as co-CEO.

It would be the most practical and business-minded solution. Steffy would keep her position, Brooke would not be rewarded for demanding someone else’s job, and Forrester Creations would benefit from a proven and respected executive.

If Ridge truly wants to make the best decision for the company, Carter is the obvious choice. In a battle driven by emotion, old resentments, and family loyalty, he may be the only solution that genuinely makes sense. That is, of course, if Ridge doesn’t just say the job is taken and move on.

  • The most responsible answer to the whole ceo problem would be for Ridge to step down since he really just wants to design. Would that not be a great story line with Brooke and Steffy working side by side. Now that would be good TV.

Brook is a joke. She and Ridge just need to move on. How can she demand someone else’s job. She and hope are pathetic. They sleep around in the family (brothers, fathers etc.) and they think they are privileged.
She has Ridge. She needs to sit down. Hope is lucky they let her and Carter back into the company. She is always putting someone else up to do her dirty work (ie sleeping with until she got what she wanted and then dumping him for her X). She needs to go to work at Logan and kiss with husband ever day.
I like Katie and why hasn’t she bought in Deke? He’s the logical choice.
