The Bold and the Beautiful Recap May 7

At Logan, Liam and Katie talked about Hope and how she was being disrespected. Katie worried about Brooke, but Liam asked which Brooke she was talking about: Brooke Logan or Brooke Forrester?
Katie pointed out that Brooke had just extended an olive branch, and didn’t want to do anything to alienate her. She said that Brooke would accuse her of poaching if Hope chose to come to Logan, and she could lose Donna over it as well.
Katie said that she needed Logan to succeed, but it could mean risking losing both of her sisters. “Could I really do that?” she asked.
Carter Advises Steffy and Ridge

In the CEO’s office, Ridge and Steffy discussed Eric’s line and the numbers that Carter projected. Steffy said everyone was on board with the plan except Hope, who was being selfish.
Carter joined them and was less than enthused about HFTF being sidelined. He understood the business decision but said as Ridge’s friend, it must be hard on him and Brooke. Ridge agreed that the tone was harsh and asked Steffy to be kinder.
Steffy said she wouldn’t baby Hope, but Ridge said she didn’t need to; she didn’t have to laugh in her face, either. Steffy scoffed at him, but Carter wasn’t impressed, warning that they didn’t need someone else leaving because they felt disrespected.
Ridge agreed and told Steffy that Hope did deserve their respect and it wasn’t that hard for her to try to do it. Steffy told them that Hope was just being dramatic and she could whine and cry all she wanted, but didn’t believe she’d go anywhere.
Carter advised them as someone who would always care about Hope and the long-term benefits of the company, not to alienate Hope.
Hope Vents To Brooke

At Brooke’s, Hope told her mom how exhausted she felt. She told her about her meeting with Ridge and Steffy, how she voiced her frustration about working on a line for over a year only to be shelved again, and that Steffy laughed in her face and Ridge did nothing.
Brooke patronizingly said Hope’s name and insisted it was just a business decision. Hope told her it had to be somewhat personal, and vented that Brooke should be the one making decisions, not Steffy, as she had more experience and talent.
Brooke told her not to worry about Steffy, but Hope was worried, and said that Brooke should be too. She said that ever since she became co-CEO, she ran with an iron fist and led with fear. Hope said it seemed like Steffy had something to prove, but she was a cheap imitation of Stephanie.
Brooke told Hope to calm down, but Hope was quite over it by then. Hope wondered why she was passive and said that sometimes keeping the peace meant advocating for yourself. Brooke said that Ridge and Steffy were in charge and they had to listen to them.
Brooke Shocks Hope

Hope insisted that it should be Brooke running the company with Ridge, not Steffy. Brooke couldn’t see him ever asking Steffy to step down so she could replace her. Hope just knew that she didn’t know how much longer she could endure it.
Brooke suggested that she was content the way things were, but Hope told her that she’d learned to make herself small to survive. Hope wished that she could tell people the truth when they asked about her line. She said she was hurt and angry and unwilling to let Steffy strip her of her dignity anymore.
Hope asked her mom to tell her the same, that she knew she deserved to be co-CEO. To her surprise, Brooke agreed. She said that Eric and Stephanie ran the company for years and it was time for her and Ridge to do the same.
