The Bold and the Beautiful Recap May 12: Brooke Demands Ridge to Demote Steffy Immediately, Donna Begs Katie Not to Poach Hope
TL;DR: In today’s Bold and the Beautiful recap, Brooke demanded that Ridge immediately demote Steffy as co-CEO, so he talked to Steffy about it. Donna pleaded with Katie not to lure Hope away from Forrester Creations for her new company, leading to a frustrated confrontation between the sisters.
The Bold and the Beautiful Recap May 12

At Spencer, Hope told Liam she was confident her mom would be promoted to co-CEO, and then her troubles would be over. Liam asked her to promise that if she didn’t, Hope would come to Logan, but she was focused on Brooke getting what she wanted.
Donna Implores Katie Not To Poach Hope

At the Forrester mansion, Donna told Katie she couldn’t sleep after their conversation and to not lure Hope away from Forrester. Katie said that she wasn’t poaching her and that Hope was a grown woman who could make her own decisions.
Donna freaked out and begged Katie not to do it, but then shrugged it off and said that Hope wouldn’t do that to her mom anyway, so she wasn’t going to worry about it.
Donna went back to telling Katie again that she could take Hope, even though Katie reminded her that it was Liam’s idea, and she wasn’t pushing it. She said that even said all these things to Hope and Liam, but it was up to Hope how she wanted to live her life. Donna accused Katie of putting her company before family. “Oh my god,” Katie said in frustration.
Donna implored, “Build your own company on your own time with your own people! Don’t poach our niece!” “Poach? Oh, you mean like I poached Eric? Are you jumping on that bandwagon now, too?” Katie snapped. Donna admitted that she didn’t and that Eric came on his own free will.
“Okay, good, because I’m also not going to apologize for using my own name. I am just as much of a Logan as you and Brooke!” she snapped. Katie wanted to know what Donna meant about doing it on her own because it sounded like she was demeaning what Katie had already accomplished.
Donna said she was the only voice of reason, but Katie said she was jumping to conclusions and thinking of the worst-case scenario. Donna said she’d keep the secret about it because it would never happen. “Put your feelers out there and find a big hit. Literally anyone other than Hope,” Donna told her, insisting they both knew how Brooke would react.
Brooke Convinces Ridge To Immediately Demote Steffy

At home, Brooke asked Ridge if he wanted another round in bed before going to work, but he passed. She told him how much she was looking forward to being his co-CEO. Ridge agreed to talk to Carter about it and bounce the idea around, but Brooke insisted it couldn’t wait.
Brooke said that Steffy needed to be told that day that she was replacing her as his co-CEO. Ridge reminded her that Steffy’s done an amazing job, and Brooke agreed but said she only got the position by seducing Bill.
Brooke then rattled off her greatest hits at Forrester. “You don’t need to go to Carter. You need to spell this out to your daughter,” Brooke insisted. She said that she laid her heart out to Ridge, and he had to go act on it.
After Ridge went to work, Brooke asked Hope to come over. She told her how she talked to Ridge and convinced him to let her be the co-CEO. She shared that Ridge had left to talk to Steffy.
Ridge Does As Instructed

Finn came to see Steffy at work and overheard her doing an employee review. He told her how good she was at her job, and she raved about how she’d grown up there, and how special it was to be able to work alongside her dad and grandfather as co-CEOs.
Steffy noted that it wasn’t just her job; it was ingrained into her identity.
Later, Ridge came in as Steffy got off the phone while making a deal. She told Ridge how happy she was at work and that she’d just told Finn how much it meant to her to be co-CEO with Ridge and Eric. Ridge nodded in agreement but wanted to talk about Brooke’s accomplishments.
Ridge said that he and Brooke had talked, and that she felt that it wouldn’t be the worst idea if she were co-CEO. “Like the three of us together? We’d never agree on anything!” Steffy laughed. She didn’t think it was a good idea.
Ridge continued that it wasn’t what Brooke was suggesting. “I don’t understand. Are you stepping down?” Steffy asked. Ridge shook his head, so she said that she wasn’t either, and didn’t know why they were having the conversation.
Ridge stopped speaking, but by his facial expressions, Steffy realized that he wanted her to step down so that he could be co-CEO with Brooke instead.
