The Bold and the Beautiful Recap August 17: Carter and Steffy Comfort One Another as Ridge Blasts Finn

The Bold and the Beautiful Recap August 17

In Monaco, Finn looked to Brooke and Ridge for help finding Steffy, but they resisted. Ridge wanted to let Finn know what a disappointment he was to not only Steffy, but to him and Brooke as well. Finn tried to explain everything that happened, but Brooke questioned every sentence, and Ridge yelled at him.

Finn said it wasn’t his fault that Sheila was on the plane, and he couldn’t get her off of it because the doors had already closed. Ridge told him it sounded like he was making excuses.

Ridge said that Finn should have texted Steffy when he landed to let her know that Sheila was on the plane. Finn told him that he didn’t want to set off her anxiety, and he thought Sheila turned back around for L.A. “But she didn’t. Steffy saw her here in Monaco,” Brooke told him.

Finn said he was just trying to make everyone happy. “You think Steffy is happy?” Ridge asked. Finn said that he tried to explain to Steffy, but she wouldn’t listen. He showed them Steffy’s rings; Ridge said he was in trouble.

Ridge yelled that Finn’s feelings were no concern of his, and said he needed to wake up. Finn told him that attacking Sheila wasn’t helping the situation or Steffy. He said that he felt bad enough, ruined their special holiday, and let Sheila interfere again. “Don’t convince me. Convince your wife,” Ridge snapped.

Eventually, Finn figured out that Steffy had gone back to Los Angeles and wanted to go after her. Ridge apologized for yelling, said he was a good guy, and they wished him luck on fixing his marriage.

Back in L.A., Carter noticed that Steffy wasn’t wearing her wedding ring. She told him that she took it off in Monaco. Steffy said that she couldn’t trust Finn anymore and that he kept choosing the problem over her. She wanted to keep her kids safe and said her marriage was over.

Steffy explained that she couldn’t go home in the state she was in and explain herself to Taylor or the kids. Carter poured them more drinks as she complained that she just wanted to be free of the woman who shot her. 

“We were in Monaco in our special place, and she was there and Finn didn’t stop her; he just defended her. You know he tried to sell me on visitation rights? Yeah, I’ve given him chance after chance. I don’t believe a word my husband says anymore. I’ve lost complete faith in Finn,” Steffy told Carter. 

Steffy relived how they were on the beach, and she noticed Finn’s face drop. She realized he saw Sheila. Steffy said Finn wasn’t going to protect her and that his words didn’t match his actions.

Steffy noticed that Carter wasn’t in a great mood either and asked what was wrong. He told her that Daphne left him and went back to France. Carter told Steffy what happened, and she understood how abandoned she felt.

Steffy cried that she was exhausted from trying and so full of rage and needed to find a way to let it out. As she got worked up, Carter grabbed her and held her close. “I got you,” he said as they looked at one another, their lips getting dangerously close.
