Will Hope by Logan Be the Wake-Up Call Brooke Never Saw Coming on The Bold and the Beautiful?

On The Bold and the Beautiful, the fallout was inevitable. Katie Logan knew Brooke would be furious. Hope Logan knew it, too. Neither of them expected Brooke to celebrate the launch of Hope by Logan, or applaud the fact that Hope had secretly become the face of Logan Designs.

Right up until the moment of the finale of the Logan fashion show, Hope was terrified of losing her mother’s love, while Katie had long since accepted that Brooke would see the move as the ultimate betrayal. The difference is that Katie finally decided Brooke’s reaction couldn’t be the deciding factor in everyone else’s lives anymore.

That’s what makes this week’s fallout so interesting. Brooke isn’t wrong to feel blindsided. She really had no idea what was happening. Just moments before the runway show, she was standing at Forrester Creations texting Hope, wondering where her daughter had disappeared to. Then Katie unveiled her newest line, Hope walked onto the runway, and Brooke was left speechless.

From Brooke’s perspective, her sister and her daughter had lied to her. From Katie’s perspective, they were simply protecting something Brooke never would have allowed to happen.

Hope finally found someone who believed in her

Hope didn’t leave Forrester because she suddenly stopped caring about the family business. In fact, she never really left at all. She told them she was taking a leave of absence while she secretly worked at Logan.

But ultimately, Hope took the risk because, after years of trying to prove herself, she was still fighting the same battles she’d been fighting all along. Every time she wanted to move forward, Steffy found a reason to push back, Ridge almost always sided with his daughter, and Hope was left wondering whether she’d ever be seen as more than someone else’s last priority.

Katie offered her something Forrester never really did: a clean slate. No family politics or power struggle with Steffy. No waiting for someone to decide whether this was finally Hope’s year. Just an opportunity to create something of her own.

Brooke wanted that success for Hope, too, but she wanted it to happen at Forrester Creations. She never imagined that Hope’s biggest career moment would come because Katie gave her the chance instead.

This has always been about more than fashion

None of this started with Logan Designs. Katie has spent most of her life living in Brooke’s shadow, and Brooke has rarely understood why that bothered her. She has often assumed Katie was jealous of her beauty, her career, or her relationships, but Katie’s frustration has never really been about wanting Brooke’s life. It has been about wanting a life where she wasn’t constantly compared to her older sister.

Ironically, some of Brooke’s biggest choices over the years only reinforced that feeling. When Katie was happily married to Bill Spencer, Brooke crossed a line that permanently damaged their relationship. Years later, history repeated itself with Nick Marone.

Whether Brooke was looking for validation, excitement, or simply followed her heart, the message Katie received was the same. Even her own husband wasn’t off limits if Brooke wanted him.

The same pattern played out with Bridget. Brooke’s affair with Deacon Sharpe while he was married to her own daughter resulted in Hope’s birth, forever changing both families. Brooke has always loved Hope fiercely, but Hope’s very existence is tied to one of the most painful betrayals in Bridget’s life.

None of those moments happened because Brooke set out to hurt Katie or Bridget. That’s what makes her such a fascinating character. She almost always believes she’s following her heart, defending her family, or doing what feels right in the moment. She rarely stops to consider how those decisions affect the people closest to her because, from Brooke’s perspective, she isn’t the villain of the story.

If Brooke’s first reaction is to accuse Katie of stealing Hope, it will fit a pattern that goes back decades.

She’s accused Katie of stealing Eric’s designs. She accused Katie of stealing Eric himself. She has argued that Katie built Logan Designs by taking what belonged to Forrester and has repeatedly dismissed the company as something that couldn’t possibly succeed on its own. Brooke even argued that Katie had stolen the Logan name for her fashion house, as though Katie wasn’t born a Logan, too.

Katie didn’t leave Forrester because she wanted Brooke’s life. She left because she wanted a life that wasn’t defined by Brooke. For years, Brooke called her “my little sister.” It was probably meant affectionately, but it also reinforced the dynamic that had existed between them since they were children: Brooke was the star. Katie was always just behind her.

What Katie said before the fashion show may end up being the line that hurts Brooke the most. She told Brooke that, as Hope’s mother, she never put Hope first. There was always Ridge.

Whether fans agree with that assessment or not, it’s difficult to deny that Brooke has often found herself choosing between protecting her relationship with Ridge and standing beside Hope. More often than not, Ridge won.

Katie wasn’t saying Brooke doesn’t love Hope. She was saying that loving someone isn’t always the same as making them feel like they’re the priority.

That’s why Hope by Logan matters beyond the fashion world. Katie didn’t just give Hope a job — she made Hope feel seen in a way she hasn’t for a very long time.

Brooke doesn’t see what everyone else sees

Another thing that makes this story more complicated than a simple rivalry is that Brooke believes she isn’t trying to be hurtful when she’s devastating someone’s ego.

Brooke doesn’t wake up every morning looking for ways to make Katie feel small or to put Ridge ahead of Hope. She genuinely believes she’s protecting her family and doing what’s best for the people she loves. When someone challenges that view, her instinct isn’t to examine whether they might have a point. It’s to assume they’ve misunderstood her, or worse, that they’re acting out of resentment or jealousy.

From Brooke’s perspective, Katie has always competed with her. From Katie’s POV, Brooke created that competition years ago and has never realized she’s the only one still playing the game.

The irony is that Katie is building something where the people around her don’t have to shrink themselves so someone else can feel bigger.

Hope understands exactly how much this will hurt her mother, which is why she kept the secret for so long. She wasn’t trying to deceive Brooke out of spite. She was trying to protect the relationship while also taking the opportunity she’d been waiting years to receive.

Eventually, though, Hope had to make a choice. She could keep living her life around Brooke’s feelings, or she could finally start living it for herself.

Can Brooke see past the betrayal?

Brooke’s heartbreak this week will be real and her anger will be understandable. She isn’t pretending to be hurt, and she isn’t wrong for feeling blindsided.

The question is whether Brooke can get past who kept the secret long enough to ask why they felt they had to.

Katie wasn’t trying to take Hope away from Brooke. She was trying to give Hope the confidence to stop waiting for permission to shine. And Hope wasn’t choosing Katie over her mother. She was choosing herself for perhaps the first time in her professional life.

Brooke may still see Hope by Logan as the greatest betrayal she’s ever experienced. But if she can look beyond the shock, she might discover that this wasn’t really the beginning of the story at all. It was simply the moment decades of family dynamics finally caught up with her.
