Beyond the Gates Weekly Recap July 20-24: Shanice and Ted Fall in Love, Bill Collapses Again, and Kat Turns on Chelsea

TL;DR: In last week’s Beyond the Gates weekly recap for July 20th to 24th, 2026, Shanice and Ted admitted they were falling in love, Noah Rollins arrived in Washington, D.C., Bill’s health took another frightening turn, Naomi considered preventative surgery, and Kat’s feud with Eva intensified.

Beyond the Gates Weekly Recap July 20-24

This week on Beyond the Gates, Shanice was taken aback when Ted admitted he was falling in love with her, but she ultimately returned the feeling and took the professions as the next step in their relationship.

Nicole told Vanessa that she was happy seeing two men, but she was so flustered when Kial slipped about Ted and Shanice confessing their feelings for each other that Kial asked Nicole if she was still holding out hope for Ted.

Deanna helped a young man pay for his food at Orphey Gene’s when his credit card was declined; they bonded over the fact that they had both lost a parent. The boy turned out to be Kial’s son, Noah Rollins, a musician who had been living in Los Angeles but had come to D.C. because he needed financial help. Kial supported Noah’s dream but advised him to get a day job while pursuing it and suggested that he apply to replace Derek as the free clinic’s manager.

Izaiah was dubious when Elon reached out to him wanting to make peace, but Elon seemed sincere. Vernon met Arianna Wood, the politician he’d been assigned to mentor. Heather returned to town and wanted Joey to kill Smitty because the reporter’s stories about The Impaler were getting too close to the truth. When Joey refused to eliminate Smitty because of his need for Martin as a congressman, Heather compromised and requested that Joey at least get Smitty to stop writing his articles.

Kat sought out advice about her relationship with Tomás while he was in Puerto Rico. On a call, Tomás told Kat that he was concerned that Naomi might take over his job. Eva became restless having to stay home to recover from her surgery; later, Chelsea convinced Eva to do a livestream about her experience with organ donation, which infuriated Kat.

After Nicole hinted to Vernon and Anita that Dani had something big going on in her life, Dani clarified that she’d learned about Naomi testing positive for the BRCA gene mutation. Anita became overwhelmed with guilt and burst into tears, but wouldn’t agree to talk Naomi out of her plans to get a preventative double mastectomy. Wanting to be present to support Naomi through her ordeal, Jacob turned down another undercover assignment from Marcel. Anita thanked Laura for encouraging her to get a mammogram, which had detected her cancer early, by gifting Laura with a diamond necklace.

Dani fumed when Bill suggested that they have more hookups on the sly. Andre was rattled when someone anonymous sent him and Dani a bottle of champagne as a belated wedding present; he placed an urgent call only to find the number disconnected, then searched through pictures of himself in Paris drinking the same vintage of the bubbly that had been delivered.

Smitty became suspicious when Lia and Hayley’s recollections of Lynette didn’t match up. June added to Smitty’s misgivings when she said that her friend Wesley, who had been arrested for Hayley’s mugging, wasn’t the type to have committed the crime. Randy was angry when Hayley started badmouthing Mona.

Hayley hoped that putting Bill on an intense exercise regimen would speed up the effects of her poison. Bill collapsed after drinking a tainted smoothie but managed to get up, though he nearly fell over again in front of Vernon at the country club. Afterward, Bill’s hand started shaking again, much to Hayley’s delight.
