Beyond the Gates Weekly Recap April 27–May 1, 2026: Ashley Crosses a Line, Smitty Closes In

This week in the Beyond the Gates weekly recap, Grayson’s stabbing sent the message it was meant to, Madison found herself on the outs with Lia, Nicole and Ted celebrated their non-anniversary, and Kat made a startling discovery.

Beyond the Gates Weekly Recap: April 27–May 1, 2026

Highlights of the Week

• Ashley stole antibiotics to keep Grayson alive
• Smitty zeroed in on a possible suspect in the plasma ring
• Madison was forced into a sabbatical
• Vernon took control of Martin’s debt to Joey
• Kat recognized a name tied to Lynette’s financial trail

Nurse Ashley To The Rescue

Ashley did her best to patch up Grayson’s stab wound, but when she feared he was going into shock, she lied about having a shift at the hospital so she could get in and steal some antibiotics for him. Lia nearly caught Ashley rooting around in the locked cabinet. Grayson wanted to stay out of sight, but Jacob said he had to meet him for another drop to keep things looking normal; Lia didn’t like that Ren had been so violent with Grayson, but she warned Grayson that she’d be keeping an eye on Ashley.

Smitty Gets Closer to the Truth

Smitty separately questioned Shanice and Ted, trying to determine if the practitioners noticed anything off about Garland’s blood supply.

Smitty learned that Rachel Lewis, a lab tech he’d been monitoring, had been racking up overtime hours, and deduced that her financial need might have pushed her into joining the illegal plasma ring.

Meanwhile, Naomi realized that Jacob was at even higher risk now that he was getting close to cracking the case.

Fallout Across Relationships

Leslie caught flak from both Chelsea and Anita, the conflict with the latter pushing her buttons about never having met her natural mother, Barbara.

Ted offered “Dana” compassion, but Shanice saw them holding hands and stormed off.

Nicole was hot for Kial but surprised when, despite their non-exclusive relationship, he wanted her to meet his grown sons.

Kat and Martin met to discuss supporting their parents on what would have been Ted and Nicole’s wedding anniversary, but they got into a fight over Eva. A year on, Eva still felt bad for ruining Ted and Nicole’s marriage and offered Ted an ear. 

Ted and Nicole reminisced about their good times and shared mutual concern about Martin being beholden to Joey; as the exes hugged, Martin walked in and saw them.

Madison Hits a Wall

Madison was gutted when Lia informed her that she was being forced to take a sabbatical in light of the malpractice suit against her; Chelsea showed Madison how to vent her frustration by boxing.

When Willow tried to call Madison, Chelsea picked up, letting her know that Madison would only speak to her through her lawyer.

Teen Tensions Boil Over

Tyrell was upset when Jessica was accepted to UCLA, even though he’d chosen to attend Banneker. Samantha caught them making out when no one else was home

Samantha cried hypocrisy when neither Smitty nor Martin seemed interested in punishing Tyrell, though she had been grounded for weeks for doing the same thing. 

Jessica managed to mediate between the Richardson-Smiths… but her arguments resulted in Tyrell being grounded until cotillion.

Vernon Makes a Move

Vernon didn’t like that Joey had offered Martin the use of his private security service. Martin was torn between his desire to run for Senate and the fact that Joey could call in his favors at any time.

After Vernon encouraged Martin to focus on his congressional re-election for the time being, he sat down with Joey and declared that he was assuming Martin’s debt — when Joey was ready to call it in, he was to make arrangements with Vernon and “leave his grandson alone.”

The Lynette Mystery Deepens

Bill nearly choked on his meal, and Naomi entered to find Hayley not helping him. Hayley stunned Naomi and Bill with her confidence that Lynette was gone for good.

Tomás interviewed Vanessa and found out that Hayley was planning to buy the penthouse for Lynette; Dani arrived and added that she had seen a very chummy Lynette and Hayley together before they had supposedly been introduced.

Bill watched his daughters enjoying themselves with Dani and Andre; as Chelsea and Dani agreed to make more of an effort with each other, Naomi floored Bill by admitting she had suggested Andre and Dani have a baby. Kat perused Tomás’s list of people whose bank accounts Lynette had emptied and recognized a name on it.
