Beyond the Gates Recap June 4: Dani and Chelsea recall Bill’s affair, and Hayley tells Randy the plan is working

TL;DR: In today’s Beyond the Gates recap, Dani and Chelsea reflect on the painful history of Bill’s affair with Hayley, while flashbacks reveal how Hayley manipulated her way into Bill’s life. Plus, Hayley tells Randy that their deadly poisoning plot against Bill is working.

Beyond the Gates Recap June 4

Over dinner at the club, Naomi and Chelsea talked about their parents and Hayley. They recounted their point of view when Bill cheated on Dani and what their marriage was actually like. While they agreed on the dysfunction, they couldn’t deny that when it was good, it was fantastic.

Dani Reveals the Truth About Bill and Hayley

At home, Dani told Andre how she went to Bill on the day of his wedding to Hayley and begged him not to go through with it but he harshly rejected her. She told him the whole story how they got there to begin with. Admitting that Bill had always been loose in his marriage vows, Dani had tolerated it thinking it kept him happy, and ultimately, committed to his family.

But those flings meant nothing until the one that did.

Hayley Becomes Part of the Family

In a series of flashbacks, viewers learned how Naomi met Hayley at the gym, and they became friends. Hayley claimed not to have any friends or family and she was lonely. She explained that her parents met in high school, but her father, Larry Lawson, left the family and her mom became a heavy drinker. Hayley explained that she learned how to live with herself.

Dani embraced Hayley and told her she was part of their family.

Hayley Sets Her Sights on Bill

One night at the club, they were having a family dinner when Dani suggested that Hayley be Bill’s new receptionist when his current one put in her notice. On her first day, Hayley and Bill started talking and getting to know one another, and she put on a good girl act.

As time went on, they became more familiar, and he asked her to call him Bill instead of Mr. Hamilton, and then stay late to have a drink with him. Hayley made her move playing a sympathy card to Bill, letting him know her observations of his marriage, coupled with comments that Naomi had made about her parents. She told him as she put her hands on his knee that he deserved better and could see his needs weren’t being met.

Hayley had Bill eating out of her hand by the time she was done with her talk with him and he couldn’t help but kiss her. Hayley and Bill’s relationship turned into a torrid love affair, to the point that he was going to move out.

Dani and Chelsea Catch Bill and Hayley Together

Back then, Dani was traveling a lot with Chelsea for her modeling and while they were out of town for a week, Hayley slept in her bed. Wearing nothing but Bill’s shirt, she helped him pack to leave Dani. As they were about to get intimate one last time in Bill and Dani’s bedroom, Chelsea and Dani came home unexpectedly and walked in on them.

Dani was stunned, and her heart was ripped out in front of everyone. When Chelsea yelled at Hayley to get out of their house, Bill intervened. He told her she couldn’t talk to Hayley like that and that there were things she didn’t understand.

Dani went off on Bill about being so shameless that he’d have an affair with his daughter’s best friend in his marital bed. Bill devastated Dani by saying Hayley wasn’t like the other women: he loved her — and he was leaving Dani to be with her.

Randy and Hayley Discuss Their Endgame

Over at Uptown, Randy and Hayley met to discuss the status of their Kill Bill plot. The cousins recalled how she’d come to town with her eyes on Joey Armstrong, but he warned her that Joey would never fall for it. He gave her Bill’s information and said that was her next mark, including how to infiltrate his life through Naomi.

Hayley updated Randy that the poison was finally taking effect and Bill was having shaking hands and other signs of decline. She didn’t care if he had a clotter at the office at this point; she just wanted him to die. Randy warned her that she was in the home stretch and not to get sloppy.
