TL;DR: In today’s Beyond the Gates recap for Monday, August 3rd, 2026, Kat learned Randy worked for Joey, Bill confided in Joey about his health, Hayley apologized to Naomi and Chelsea, and Vanessa warned Randy to stay away from Bill.

Beyond the Gates Recap August 3

At Orphey Gene’s, Kat was still at the counter when Mona came in. After they talked for a moment, she watched as Mona joined Randy in his booth. Mona told Randy that it seemed like his conscience was bothering him. Randy said he had to do something that went against his spirit, but it was over now.

Randy said he couldn’t talk too much about his line of work. Mona and Randy held hands as she said she knew his look. It said that he’d crossed a line and didn’t look at things the same anymore.

When Mona suggested Randy get out of his line of work, he told her it wasn’t that simple. He said that she was a nice lady and he didn’t have a friend since Doug died, so he enjoyed talking to her.

Randy had to leave, so Kat took his spot. She wondered how Mona knew Randy, and she revealed that he worked for Joey.

Bill Confides in Joey

Bill went to the casino hoping for a friend to lend an ear. He told Joey that he felt out of control with his health and asked him to watch out for the Duprees if something happened to him. He noted that they’d cleaned up messes in the past and if one should resurface, to take care of it.

Joey understood as he’d changed since being with Vanessa. He asked Bill to do him the same favor regarding her. They shared some top-shelf whiskey, then Mona walked in. Bill had to go, and Mona told Joey she wanted to play some cards.

As they played, Mona said she wanted to play for Randy’s soul. Mona beat him, and Joey was surprised at her skill. Mona took her winnings to split with the church and get herself some new shoes. Before she left, Joey said he wouldn’t fire Randy as it wouldn’t be very Christian. Mona said she’d settle for not asking him to do anything that would crush his spirit.

The Cousins Compare Notes on Hayley

At the country club, Vanessa asked Dani if it was an accident when she left her sunglasses at Bill’s. She said it was, but still enjoyed Hayley’s reaction. When Anita arrived, they filled her in and suggested that Hayley was cheating on Bill.

They moved to the dining room, and Anita shared that she saw Hayley with Kyle Abbott after the tornado. While she didn’t see anything incriminating herself, she could tell that they felt ‘caught’ somehow.

When Dani shared the theory about Hayley and Randy having an affair, Vanessa defended him. She said that it would be a financial downgrade for her to go from Bill to Joey’s hired help. Later, Anita went to her spa appointment, and Dani had to go, but Vanessa stayed behind. She called Randy and told him that they needed to talk.

Hayley Tries to Make Peace As The Walls Close In

At Naomi’s, Hayley showed up unannounced and apologized to Naomi and Chelsea. She told them they were welcome at the house, but they had to call first. She pointed out that they wouldn’t want to walk in on her and Bill being intimate, thinking they were in the privacy of their own home.

Chelsea wanted to hurl, and Naomi wasn’t buying it anyway. She told Hayley she was taking a page out of her book and showed her the door. As Hayley left, Kat came in.

Kat shared what she’d learned about Randy from Mona. They determined that it was unlikely that Randy was having an affair with Hayley. Based on a tip from a podcast, Kat said that it was either love, money, or revenge. They knew that Randy didn’t have money and Hayley didn’t love Bill.

Dani arrived, and she shared that Vanessa confirmed Randy grew up with Doug in Philly, and what Anita said about Kyle Abbott and Hayley. Kat remembered that Hayley was from Philly, too. They all agreed that made more sense as someone Hayley would cheat with since he was the heir to a cosmetics dynasty.

Naomi thought it wouldn’t make sense for Hayley to cheat. Bill had made Naomi put in a morality clause to her pre-nup, and thought there was no way he wouldn’t have done the same.

Meanwhile, Bill met Hayley at the country club, and she told him that she apologized to his daughters. He thanked her, and Hayley claimed she just wanted everyone to get along. “I just want you to have everything that you deserve,” she said.

Vanessa Warns Randy

Vanessa and Randy met at the Atrium. At first, they talked about how Doug and Randy grew up together. When they were young in Philadelphia, they got in trouble, and Randy got shot. When he woke up, Doug had a pile of books and said he never wanted to feel so helpless again. It was that situation that set Doug on the path of becoming a doctor.

Vanessa told Randy that Joey wasn’t the only man with power in town, and warned that Bill Hamilton was as well. She told him to be careful whose house he was in, but Randy just looked confused.
