Beyond the Gates’ Jon Lindstrom returns to General Hospital
Viewers of General Hospital will be happy to see fan-fave Jon Lindstrom return as Kevin Collins on the show’s episode airing Tuesday, December 2nd.
Jon Lindstrom Returns to General Hospital
For a guy who hasn’t been around since last year, Dr. Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) has kept his hand in the proverbial pot…er, plot. Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis) called Kevin last week after she had won the election, noting that he was in Ireland for a conference. Moments later, she almost called him again when she found Professor Dalton’s (Daniel Goddard) dead body in her trunk.
Fans have also been abuzz lately about Dr. Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) returning to Port Charles for reasons beyond supporting his wife. With all the talk about Faison’s “final project” and Jack and Anna wondering if he’s alive (not to mention her disappearance that no one seems to think much about), it would be prudent for someone to ask him what he did with Faison’s brain — last seen in a jar on his desk.
Lindstrom told TVInsider that his return will be short but impactful. Although contractually possible, Lindstrom is busy as a main player on CBS’ Beyond the Gates. He doesn’t have much time for doing both shows, and would be limited by the show being filmed on the opposite coast.
However, General Hospital found a way to make it work. He said, “To their credit, they came to me and said, ‘What if we stack a bunch of shows up over a couple of days? Will that be worth your while to make the trip out?’” Of course, he said yes, and quipped, “I think Genie [Francis, Laura Collins] is getting tired of talking to a disembodied Kevin on the phone.”
Lindstrom was spotted at Daytime Emmy celebrations last month with the cast and crew of General Hospital (which won Outstanding Daytime Drama Series), and questioned if it was a sign that he would be returning to the show.
Lindstrom also shared in his interview that he was with Michele Val Jean (creator and head writer of Beyond the Gates) at the GH Emmy party when Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos, GH) asked about his BTG character. Lindstrom shared, “And Michele laughs and goes, ‘He’s you. He’s the Sonny of the DMV.’ And I said, ‘I think Joey has a much better sense of humor than Sonny Corinthos.’”
Lindstrom will be back on the Tuesday, December 2nd episode.
