Beyond the Gates: Does Bill Know Hayley Is Poisoning Him?
For months on Beyond the Gates, we’ve watched Hayley Lawson play the doting wife while spiking Bill Hamilton’s tea with whatever that undetectable cocktail is that her cousin Randy Parker got for her. But if you watched the latest scenes, the dynamic has shifted. Drastically.
Hayley’s Poison on Beyond the Gates
It started out easy enough. After a bomb-drop of a reveal, Beyond the Gates viewers found out that Hayley (Marquita Goings) was Val, Randy (Maurice P. Kerry) was her cousin, and Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) was doomed. In short, Hayley’s long game was to seduce and marry Bill, then knock him off for a $10 million insurance policy. Easy peasy.
Randy warned Hayley when he scored the poison for her that she was to give him a little at a time, and over time, it would affect him. One day, he’d just keel over and that would be that. Operation Merry Widow would be a success.
But lately, the plan seems to be derailing. Is it just us, or does Bill seem to know something?
Hayley Spills the Tea
Last month, Bill collapsed at the office. He knew the only thing he’d had that day was Hayley’s special tea. She is always claiming to be taking care of her husband and fixing a cup of herbal tea for him, but viewers know she’s adding a shot from her vial.
Bill stared at the cup, deep in thought. Did it occur to him that something was amiss? When he collapsed, Hayley called Randy in a panic as she stood over Bill. Her first call was not to 9-1-1. Did he remember hearing her?
Hayley’s also had run-ins with Caroline (Ellie Wang) about the teacup, going so far as to knock it to the ground when she almost drank some. She did the same in front of Bill on his birthday, when Hayley almost ate the cupcake she’d tainted.
Bill’s Not As Thirsty As He Once Was
But last week, viewers couldn’t help but notice when Hayley offered to get Bill a cuppa, and he snapped, “I’m not having any more of your poison.” Did he mean it, or was that just a tease for fans?
Later, Bill asked about the “special ingredient” in Hayley’s brew. His adoring wife momentarily panicked, then cooed it was love.
Until now, Bill has been playing the part of the unsuspecting victim. But his sudden refusal to drink the tea suggests the fog is lifting. Is he just being cranky, or does he know?
Last week, Tomas overheard Hayley talking about the project, specifically mentioning dosages and timelines. Also, Caroline caught her weeks ago, looking for the insurance policy on his computer. Have they had conversations about it with Bill when Hayley isn’t around?
Our Verdict:
Bill Hamilton is a lawyer. He doesn’t show his hand until he has enough evidence to bury the opposition.
He isn’t drinking the tea because he knows what’s in it. He hasn’t kicked her out yet because he is waiting for her to slip up one last time so he can nail her to the wall.
And in the meantime, you bet he’s thinking about Dani (Karla Mosley). Being seduced away from her is now his biggest regret, and he’s been making sure that she knows it.
