Beyond the Gates is bringing a beloved HBCU tradition to Fairmont Crest as Banneker University celebrates Homecoming.
The CBS daytime drama, which has earned 15 Daytime Emmy Award nominations, will spotlight the history and traditions associated with historically Black colleges and universities in episodes airing Friday, October 2, and Monday, October 5. The celebration begins at the Dupree family home, where residents of Fairmont Crest gather for a Banneker University tailgate filled with family, friends, school pride, and plenty of crimson and gold — and we’ve got the photos and the video preview of the special event.
Banneker University Homecoming Comes to Fairmont Crest

The Homecoming celebration gives the Duprees an opportunity to honor that legacy while sharing the traditions that make HBCU homecoming such an important part of campus culture.

The gathering reflects the multigenerational connection the Duprees have to the university and gives the show’s characters a chance to celebrate their shared history.
The Duprees Take Their Banneker Pride to the Game

Along the way, the celebration continues with Banneker University’s beloved fight song, “Fight On.” The entire group joins together to sing the song, bringing the fictional university’s Homecoming tradition to life on screen.
