At the motel room, Dominic was having fun playing with Mariah, but he started asking a lot of questions. While Dom was in the bathroom, Mariah said, “Where the hell are you, Ian? I’m running out of ideas, here!”

Mariah packed up her things and Dominic’s, and they played a game of hide and seek from the room to the car. They didn’t realize that Dom’s glove had fallen to the floor in the room before they left.

At GCAC, Phyllis was in the dining room at a table alone when she got a text from Cane saying, “It’s official. Victory is ours.” As she was breathing a sigh of relief, Nick walked in.

Nick was hostile towards Phyllis. She told him that she thought the things he’d said earlier were due to him being in pain, but he doubled down.

Phyllis said she wasn’t taking Nick’s insults anymore, and she was vindicated. She said Victor brought it upon himself and that he was a monster who ruined people’s lives, including hers.

Phyllis advised Nick to get some rest because rising from the ashes was quite a feat, something she had to do many times throughout her life.
Nick told Phyllis how selfish, callous, and heartless he thought she was…but said it wasn’t an insult. “It’s a sad and honest observation about someone I used to love,” Nick added.

Phyllis clapped back and said that Victor was as ruthless and cold-blooded as they come. She added that Victor would throw him under the bus if it served him, and he has.

Sharon approached and told them to keep their voices down. Sharon told Phyllis that she wouldn’t take her side after Phyllis hurt Nick and his family.

Sharon said Phyllis was playing god with other people’s lives, just like Martin did to them. Phyllis was offended at the comparison.

Phyllis was taken aback when Sharon told her that she’d come to cherish Phyllis, but if she couldn’t see the comparison, they couldn’t be friends.

Choking back emotion, Phyllis reminded Sharon that she called her every day as they worked through their trauma and bonded as friends. She said that she was not the monster in this situation and was nothing like Martin Laurent. “I resent that comparison,” she said.

Phyllis wondered how Sharon of all people could not see that Victor brought it upon himself by dismantling Arabesque. Nick said Victor only did that after Phyllis gave him the app.

Nick told Phyllis that he knew she expected everyone to one day forgive her for what she’s done, but it wouldn’t happen. “You don’t come back from this. Not with me, not with Summer,” he said.

Phyllis told Nick to stop bringing up Summer and to stop poisoning her against her. Nick wondered what the point of it all was if she lost everyone who had ever given a damn about her.

When Phyllis tried to walk away, Nick followed her. He told her that his fear for her was that she’d be successful, but completely alone. Phyllis told them to get out of her life.

Sharon and Nick went to another table, and Phyllis tried calling Summer, but she didn’t pick up. She got a text a moment later from her daughter saying, “Don’t call me again.”

At the Chancellor mansion, Abby was crying for Dominic, and Devon tried to comfort her, assuring her they would bring their son home.

Abby was getting anxious waiting for the police to analyze the security footage. All they knew is that the person was in the one blind spot that didn’t pick them up while hiding and waiting for the right moment to take Dom, but they could see him leaving the property, holding the person’s hand. Abby wondered if it was possible that the person who took Dom was someone they knew.

Devon convinced Abby to leave the house, but when they walked into Crimson Lights, they ran into Daniel and Tessa. Daniel asked where their little man was, and Abby burst into tears.

Abby and Devon explained that Dominic was missing.

When they told the details, Devon pulled out his phone and showed them the picture of the scarf as it was the only evidence they had. “Oh my god,” Tessa gasped when she saw it.

Tessa told them that it was a custom-made scarf that she had given to Mariah. She told Devon and Abby that Mariah had been in a facility, checked herself out, and took off.

Tessa said she’d been tracking Mariah, who had traveled south. She said she brought the scarf to Mariah in Boston the last time she was there, but left her suitcase with a staff member.

Devon wondered if someone else could’ve taken the scarf, and Dom, but Abby said Tessa just wanted to believe it because it was easier than accepting that Mariah had taken her son.

Tessa checked the app and said it still showed Mariah in Florida. Just then, Devon got a call from the police, who had a report of someone who looked like Dominic leaving a hotel with a woman.

In the motel room, the police were investigating when Abby and Devon arrived. They showed them the glove, and Abby recognized it as Dominic’s. The policewoman showed them security footage, and Devon identified Dominic leaving with Mariah.

Abby and Devon went home to wait for word from the police. They tried to figure out why Mariah would take Dominic. Abby said she needed to call her dad and use his resources to find him.

As they drove, Mariah had a moment of panic when a police car came up behind her with its lights on, but it passed.

Dominic noticed that she was crying and asked why. Mariah told him that she was okay and they went back to playing I Spy.

On the train, Billy came to see Cane. He excitedly told him that everything was official: Newman Enterprises was signed into his and Phyllis’ name, and contracts were being drawn up, including Billy’s as the returning CEO of Chancellor Industries.

Billy barely uttered a word in response, so Cane asked what was with the doom and gloom. Billy told him that Jill had a relapse and was in really bad shape.

Billy was worried that if Jill found out what they were doing with Victor and Chancellor, it could make everything worse.

Neither Billy nor Cane wanted to be the reason Jill wound up in the hospital, but Cane didn’t know what Billy was suggesting. Billy clarified he just thought they should hold off on public announcements about the takeovers.

Cane was confused by Billy’s loyalty since he thought Billy turned his back on Jill. Billy said he wasn’t the only one confused, and hearing her suffering on the phone made him want to jump on a plane and go hug her but she didn’t want him to.

Billy admitted Sally thought it was a bad move for him to go to Chancellor. Cane said that choosing Lily over everything else did nothing for him.

Cane said that he thought doing what she thought was the right thing would change her mind about him, but it didn’t. “Sound familiar?” Cane asked.

When Cane suggested they weren’t meant for love, Billy noted he had Phyllis. “That’s not love,” Cane told him. Cane said what he did love was the view from Newman Tower. They agreed it was a good thing they loved their work.
