Days of our Lives Recap Jan 28: Abe is Shocked about Liam, Stalker says he tried to kill Alex
In the Days of our Lives recap for Wednesday, January 28, 2026, Johnny tells good and bad news, Marlena has an idea for Basic Black, Steve and Jada come up with a plan, and Rafe tells Abe that Liam isn’t who he thinks.

At the pub, Kayla and Roman had brunch with Marlena. Johnny came in and told them about the bones belonging to Stefano. He was aware that they wouldn’t be grieving his loss, but they acknowledged that, aside from the monster that he was, he was also a loving grandfather to Johnny.
When Kate came in, she had mixed emotions about the news. She wanted to leave to process them, but Roman told her that he understood.
Marlena and Kayla told Johnny that if Stefano hadn’t come into their lives, they wouldn’t have met John. Marlena said that the things they went through made them stronger and were part of who they now were. “It just goes to prove that love wins,” Marlena added.
Johnny told Marlena and Kayla that Chanel was pregnant. After Johnny went to tell Roman, Kayla told Marlena about Jeremy being suspected of stalking Stephanie. She regretted not foreseeing it.
Marlena told Kayla about Basic Black and being asked to take it over. Marlena didn’t want to be hands-on running it, and said that she was considering asking Kate to do that. Kayla thought it was a great idea, and thought John would have loved it as well.
Johnny told Kate that he’d seen Bonnie’s book manuscript and confirmed Titan wasn’t interested. Johnny said he was interested in reading it and giving DiMera a leg up before he gave the reins back to Theo.
Kate gave him the go-ahead, although she wished Titan could have published it instead. Kate told Johnny how grateful she was for him at Titan.
Johnny invited Kayla, Kate, Marlena, and Roman to the memorial service he and Chad were planning. They all said they’d think about it.
After Johnny left, though, Roman said he’d waited for the day he could dance on Stefano’s grave, and to count him in.
At Stephanie’s apartment, Jada and Steve suggested that Alex and Stephanie create new bait. They explained a plan to catch Jeremy by putting out another announcement that they were eloping.
The stalker listened through the microphone hidden in the frame that they would plan a wedding, use a Stephanie lookalike, and trick him into showing up, while Stephanie was safely somewhere else.
Steve realized that the stalker made another post, claiming that he already tried killing Alex on Halloween, but was thwarted by the pumpkin catapult incident.
Stephanie was terrified to use Alex as bait after reading it. Alex, however, thought it was the best plan that they had to save both of their lives.
Rafe met with Abe and told him about Stefano’s bones. But more jarring was the news that Liam was connected to the DiMera kidnappings.
Abe said that Liam was a petty thief, but was shocked to learn that there was proof of his connection to Peter, doing his dirty work, and involved in Theo’s disappearance. Abe told Rafe what he knew about Liam.
