Joey told Lance that if he even thought about Vanessa, he’d kill him. Joey punched him in the stomach before letting him leave.

At the club cafe, Andre wasn’t too pleased to run into Hayley. Somehow, it quickly turned to idle chit-chat after Hayley sat down. She noted how they both lost their parents, although Hayley was orphaned so young, she told him.

Hayley said she wanted to have kids with Bill so badly because she was an only child and an orphan. Andre asked if that was how she justified being a homewrecker.

Andre said pulling the orphan card was inspired, but he wasn’t playing with Dani; they were real. He told Hayley that her marital insecurity was her problem. Andre didn’t want to entertain Hayley’s doubts and walked away.

Upstairs, Vanessa commented on Bill’s ego as she heard him telling Dani that she had changed into the dress he bought for her. Dani told him that she changed to meet her friend; it had nothing to do with him.

“I still marvel how a man could be so full of himself and pathetic at the same time,” Vanessa snarked. She told Bill to go home and undress his wife with his wandering eyes.

Once Bill left, Vanessa made Dani admit that she did wear the dress intentionally. She understood but warned Dani not to fall for his interest as he was all about the thrill of the chase.

Before Vanessa and Dani could catch up, Andre messaged to say he was home early. Vanessa insisted they have a girls’ night some other time and sent her home to be with her man.

Lolly walked in after Dani left, and apologized to Vanessa for Lance’s behavior. Vanessa asked if he got violent with her.

Lolly said that Lance would never raise his hand to a woman. “Don’t be so sure of that,” Vanessa told her. They sat down, and Vanessa told her the whole story.

“This doesn’t sound like the man I married,” Lolly told Vanessa. Behind them, Lance went to the bar. Lolly went to him and said Vanessa said he’d bruised her.

Lance turned and saw Vanessa sitting at the table behind him. He jumped up and ran out of the bar.

Chelsea asked Madison to come over so they could talk things out. Madison was hopeful that Chelsea would tell her that taking drugs was a one-time thing.

Chelsea pointed out that she’d had a year and said she was barely keeping it together. Madison understood that Chelsea needed to let loose.

“I miss the feeling of being free,” Chelsea told her. Chelsea said he wanted to be herself, do what she wanted, and not be judged. Madison took that to mean that Chelsea was controlling.

Chelsea explained that she grew up constantly scrutinized and rebelled because she had no control over her life. She just wanted Madison to accept her.

Madison said they were two very different people, and Chelsea’s freedom felt like recklessness to her. “If I’m the one making you feel caged, I love you enough to walk away,” she said.

Chelsea didn’t want to break up; she said Madison was who she wanted to marry. “Did you just propose?” Madison asked.

Chelsea told Madison she had just poured her heart out, been honest, and was being spontaneous. Madison said Chelsea was just acting out of fear, and that wasn’t fair to either of them.

At Uptown, Kat wasn’t impressed that Tomas was so into how sexy her mom looked. Kial came in and joined her at the bar, as Kat shook her head in disbelief.

Kial told Nicole that she kept finding ways to knock him off her feet. Nicole said that she was taking a lead from Dani and finding her inner freedom to express herself.

Nicole brought up Carlton, noting they’d been dating. Kial said if he were threatened by him, he wouldn’t have found Nicole drinking alone. Nicole said she wanted to keep her options open that night and was glad that she did.

Meanwhile, Kat told Tomas she didn’t like the Nicole reboot happening before her eyes. She didn’t feel like she knew her mom anymore.

Kat thought Nicole’s whole look and attitude were red flags, and she didn’t like them. Kat thought her mom felt like the ground was moving under her feet with everything she’d been through.

Tomas thought Kat was projecting, and she admitted she might be. She said that Tomas was her rock and kept her grounded.

Hayley sent Bill a text that she had a surprise for him. But Bill’s mind was on Dani. He scrolled through their wedding photos and thought about when he told her how sorry he was.

Later, she came home expecting to be intimate but he was in bed, snoring. She rolled over angrily, and Bill opened his eyes, pretending to be asleep.

Dani came home and told Dani that he was only gone one night, but he never wanted to wake up in a bed that didn’t have her in it. They two had a romantic night together.

Vanessa went to the casino to see Joey. When she removed her coat, Joey saw the bruise on her wrist. He felt bad and promised her that she’d never be hurt by his business again.

Vanessa reminded Joey that she wanted him to leave it alone and let her handle it and hoped he’d listened. Joey said he heard everything she’d said.

Joey was bemused as Vanessa told him that she’d handled the situation herself, and how Lance ran from her. She was proud of herself for the way she’d handled it on her own.
