In the Days of our Lives recap for Friday, January 23, 2026, Steve is tricked, Jeremy is questioned, and Chad makes a bold move for Thomas.
Days of our Lives Recap

At the Horton house, Jennifer wanted to tell Thomas about Jeremy, but Chad wasn’t sure. He thought Jeremy seemed good with the kids and a good guy.
Jennifer was worried that the accusations were true, and he was living in the same house with them while stalking Stephanie.
Chad hoped it was all a big mistake and that Jeremy was falsely accused.
Talk turned to Thomas, and Jennifer told Chad that she thought Thonas needed more than just his word that he would stay away from Cat.
Chad didn’t want Thomas to dictate their agreement, but Jennifer explained it wasn’t like he didn’t want Chad to find love. She noted that he liked Stephanie and was sad when it didn’t work out with her and Chad.
Jennifer implored Chad to understand the importance of his son needing to trust him.
Chad said sat down with Thomas and told him if he needed him to prove that he could trust him, he would do that.
Thomas listened as Chad told him he knew that Cat hurt him and Charlotte as well. He also noted that the agreement for him to never get involved with Cat wasn’t part of the formal agreement.
Chad offered to call Melinda and have it be part of the formal wording in the contract that he would never get involved with Cat again.
Thomas said that putting it in writing would help him trust Chad again so he called Melinda and asked her to change it.
Melinda advised against it but Chad said he needed it to rebuild trust with his son. She said she’d draw something up and send it to him.
When Chad hung up, he explained to Thomas that Salem was a small town. He said they’d run into Cat now and then and he had to agree not to jump to conclusions, but if he didn’t want her in his life, then he wouldn’t be.
At the police station, Julie defended Jeremy to Jada. She told her she truly believed Jeremy wasn’t guilty.
Julie thought the fact that Jeremy was planning on leaving town meant he wasn’t guilty, but Jada didn’t see it that way.
In another room, Melinda arrived to talk to Jeremy. She said the evidence seemed circumstantial but suggested a deal.
Jeremy declined, insisting he was innocent. He said if he put that mark on his record, he’d never be allowed around kids again.
Jada came in to question Jeremy. He denied any wrongdoing or knowledge of the stalker, but Jada didn’t believe him.
Eventually, Jada had to let Jeremy go but told him not to leave town. Melinda snickered until she saw the angry look on Jeremy’s face.
At Marlena’s, Belle asked about the book club, and Marlena told her that she couldn’t find the words to share her feelings with her friends.
Belle reminded her mom that she was newly widowed and asked her to follow the advice she’d give a patient.
Marlena shared that she talked to Brady about losing his job and how he was worried about Basic Black. Belle suggested that Marlena run it.
She explained that she could oversee it, and give input on behalf of the family to continue John’s legacy. That way, Marlena could continue her practice as well.
Marlena agreed to think about it. Moments later, Julie came by and wanted to tell Belle that she believed Jeremy was innocent.
She told her that he’d planned on leaving town but wasn’t allowed to now. Belle informed her that Jada couldn’t enforce that, but thought if Jeremy was innocent, he should stay put and prove it.
At home, Stephanie and Alex couldn’t believe that Jeremy made the website. They hoped that now that he was exposed, the nightmare would be over.
Steve came out of his room after a rough sleep. He surprised Alex and Stephanie when he said he couldn’t go home yet.
Steve explained that they had to consider that Jeremy was innocent and someone set him up, which would mean they were still in danger.
Jada arrived and told them that she had to release Jeremy. She noted there was a package outside the door, so Steve got it and opened it in the hallway.
It was a frame, and the card was from EJ, congratulating them on their engagement. However, it was really a trick from the stalker who had a microphone installed in the frame.
As Steve held the frame, they talked about drawing the stalker out by using Alexa as bait.
