Days of our Lives Recap Jan 14: Rachel and Sophia Get Caught
In the Days of our Lives recap for Wednesday, January 14, 2026, Gwen is delighted about her newest roommate, Brady figures things out, Tate turns down his dad’s offer, Chad helps Leo, and Holly asks Ari to join a sorority.
Days of our Lives Recap
Chad joined Leo at the pub and kept him company while he finished his bottle of tequila, but got him to switch to water. Chad addressed the issue Leo was trying to avoid; Leo admitted he still had feelings for Dimitri.
Chad got Leo to leave. Leo told him that he was more than a boss, he was his best friend. Leo hoped that everything went Chad’s way the next day with Jennifer and they hugged.
Kristen came to the DiMera mansion, and Gwen thought she was a sight for sore eyes. Since EJ was out of town, Kristen thought she’d stay for a few days.
Gwen said it would be like being cellmates again, which made Kristen bristle. She said she was out on bail, but as for the rest of it, time would tell.
Kristen had a drink with Gwen and then wanted to go to bed. Before she left, Gwen told her that Dimitri was there to reclaim his fortune. Kristen was on the same page as Gwen about not letting Dimitri have his way.
At Bayview, Rachel told Sophia she felt bad stealing from her dad but was hopeful they would pay him back. Sophia convinced her that what she did was for the greater good, got dressed, and snuck out.
Rachel took her position, hiding in Sophia’s bed and pretending to be her when the nurse came by to check all the patients were in their beds. But this time, the nurse came over to pull the blanket off her head to double-check.
Brady let himself into Marlena’s, surprising Tate, who was doing his homework. Brady suggested that Tate come to Basic Black as an intern and learn the ropes to take it over one day.
Tate wasn’t interested; he thought the pressure of sustaining John’s legacy was too much and doubted his ability to run it successfully. Brady didn’t know who else to ask, but said he’d deal with it.
As Brady went to order a pizza, he opened his wallet and realized all the cash was gone. He retraced his steps, but the only place he knew it could have been possible that someone went into it was when he was at Bayview.
Just then, he got a call from the facility and had to rush off. Tate wondered what was going on. “I can’t talk, I’ve got to deal with your sister,” Brady snapped as he bolted out the door.
When Brady left, Holly arrived. Tate told her what happened and how Brady left in a rush and it had to do with Rachel. Tate told her that he was getting A’s in both classes and thought he’d be off probation soon. They went to celebrate by going bowling.
Holly came by the Hernandez house and found Ari dealing with the wedding gifts. She assumed she was tasked with it because she was the least upset about the wedding being called off.
Holly suggested that she and Ari rush a sorority together. Ari didn’t think it was her style, and she’d be too busy with her upcoming DiMera internship.
Holly said she’d been kind of bored over the holidays. Ari asked if she wanted to go to Small Bar, but Holly didn’t have a fake ID and didn’t want to get arrested for trying to get into a bar.
When Holly mentioned she had plans with Tate later, Ari admitted was tired of being their third wheel. She wanted to meet someone new and decided to go to Small Bar on her own.
In the square, Rachel spotted Sophia walking by. She called out to her, but she didn’t respond.
Brady got to Rachel’s room, and they were both upset. Brady wanted an explanation, so Rachel told him that she was just doing as Sophia asked. Brady thought that was interesting since Sophia supposedly couldn’t talk.
Rachel said that Sophia wrote her a note, but Brady knew she was lying. He surmised Rachel stole his money and gave it to Sophia.
Brady told Rachel that they needed to find Sophia, as she might be in danger. “She’s right there,” Rachel told him. Brady turned to see Sophia in the doorway.
