Days of our Lives Recap Jan 13: Sophia Tasked Rachel With A Crime

In the Days of our Lives recap for Tuesday, January 13, 2026, Rachel got a surprise visitor, Sophia had a dark request, Rafe questioned Dimitri, and Gwen thought of a new plan.

Sarah came to see Kristen at the hospital and wanted to be discharged. She said since she had been formally released on bail, she wanted to see her daughter as soon as possible.

Sarah said that as Kristen’s doctor, she would like her to stay on IV for one more day, but as a mother, she understood. She wrote her a prescription for a very strong oral medication. Sarah asked her to give Rachel her love when she saw her.

Cat met Gwen for coffee in the square and told her that Dimitri was back and wanted to divorce her. She was unhappy that she was getting frozen out of her assets.

Gwen asked how Cat was doing getting over Chad, and wondered if having dinner with EJ was her attempt at moving on. Cat assured her there was nothing romantic involved.

Brady went to see Rachel’s doctor and expressed his concern about his daughter’s friendship with Sophia Choi. The doctor explained it was important for Rachel to feel connected to people while she was in Bayview. Brady was sure Sophia wouldn’t be a good influence.

The doctor and Brady also discussed how Rachel needed to understand that her parents would never reunite. The doctor told Brady that, as her father, he needed to be clear about that with Rachel.

Brady shared that someone new had entered his life and wanted to explore the possibilities of that relationship. The doctor said Rachel knew it was an extreme overreaction to see him and Sarah together. 

In Rachel’s room, Sophia told her that she was planning another outing and asked for Rachel’s help. Sophia wanted to get a phone but needed money to buy one. Sophia suggested that Rachel “borrow” the money from her dad’s wallet.

Rachel was happily surprised when her mom came to visit. Kristen asked Sophia for privacy and then explained to Rachel that she still needed to get the charges straightened out, but that it would all be over then. Rachel didn’t want her mom ever to go away again. Kristen promised to work on getting Rachel home as well.

While getting caught up, Kristen asked Rachel why she had given Sarah pistachio ice cream, knowing she was allergic. Rachel admitted that seeing Sarah hugging Brady freaked her out. Rachel was glad Sarah was okay, and was surprised when Kristen said she was as well.

Just as Rachel told Kristen that Sarah and Brady were hugging, Brady came in. But he’d just gotten in a hug when Rachel was told it was time to get cleaned up for dinner. Brady and Kristen agreed to go look at Rachel’s artwork while she washed up.

While Brady and Kristen were gone, Rachel came back and spotted Brady’s jacket. She went into his wallet and took out the cash he had. 

At the DiMera mansion, Dimitri told Rafe that Gwen kidnapped him and held him captive so she could take his money. Rafe said that it wasn’t his jurisdiction to handle it, but the DiMera crypt kidnappings were.

Rafe told Dimitri that the cameras linked back to Alamainia and questioned what Dimitri knew. He insisted he was a victim of captivity and not the villain.

Dimitri told Rafe that he was being held in a large, brick mansion in a vast field in Alamainia, with a big, German chef who used too much salt, but everyone else looked Alamainian. Rafe mocked his story.

Dimitri didn’t have more to offer, so Rafe said he’d pass his statement on and ask more questions later. Gwen came in as Rafe was on his way out. She could tell that Rafe thought Dimitri was involved in the DiMera crypt kidnappings.

Gwen teased Dimitri for spending so much time plotting his revenge return, only to find out he wasn’t the sole heir. Dimitri yelled that he was the victim and Gwen was the kidnapper, and wondered why no one would believe him.

Dimitri said he knew she had him kidnapped to steal his money, and he was going to make her pay for it. After he stormed off, Gwen said, “Maybe. Maybe I’ll prove that you did kidnap your family members — whether you did it, or not.” 

When Rafe got home, Cat came to see him. They compared notes about their conversations with Dimitri and Gwen. Rafe said they had more questions than answers, but thought he might know a solution.

Rafe told Cat that he was going to Alamainia to question Vivian in person and find the mansion that Dimitri described. He asked Cat to dig around in the lab and Mark to find out what they were hiding. Cat agreed but thought she’d be more helpful on the trip. “I never said I was going alone,” Rafe told her.

At the free clinic, Sarah saw Liam and his son, Gage, who she suspected had strep throat. Liam confirmed the services were free as money was a little tight.

After Sarah gave Liam’s son medication, she noticed that Liam had a cut hand and asked what happened. He dismissed it, but Sarah took a better look and asked if it was a knife wound. Liam didn’t answer and made a quick exit with his son.
