The Bold and the Beautiful Recap Jan 9: Carter proposes to Daphne

In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for Friday, January 9, 2026, Sheila told Deke she heard him telling his dad to find a new wife, Carter pulled out all the stops to keep Daphne in town, and Steffy turned to Hope to get Deacon away from her mom.

At Taylor’s office, Taylor admitted that her feelings for Deacon had developed and it was wrong. After Steffy left, Taylor called Deacon over and told him he had to get a new therapist. Deacon disagreed.

Deacon knew things were complicated but he didn’t want a referral. He said he’d never opened up to anyone like he had with Taylor, and she was the only one he trusted.

Taylor said that he knew what she felt for him, but Sheila was his wife. She noted that whatever their situation was riddled with problems and potential dangers.

Taylor told Deacon she wasn’t abandoning him, and she only wanted the best for him. “That’s you, Taylor. That’s you,” Deacon said as he took her hand.

Taylor and Deacon told one another what they meant to each other, claiming they were just friends. Taylor asked him if he was happy with Sheila. He said maybe fairy tale romances weren’t for people like them — or maybe they just hadn’t found their yets.

At Il Giardino, Sheila pulled Deke aside when he was talking to Tyler and told him that she’d overheard part of his conversation with Deacon. She said she wanted forgiveness.

Sheila told Deacon again that she loved his dad and that she’d changed. She heard Deke was telling his dad to find another woman, but she insisted she was the only one for him. 

Later alone, Sheila fumed at the possibility of Deacon being interested in someone else. She said she didn’t care who it was; she would stop them from being with her husband.

A flustered Steffy went back to the office and summoned Hope. She told her that she needed to get her dad stay away from pursuing her mom. Once Hope defended him and said her dad wasn’t a womanizer, she realized that Taylor had feelings for him.

To Steffy’s surprise, Hope was all for it if it meant getting him away from Sheila. Taylor pointed out that the last thing it would do would get Sheila away; she’d come after her mom.

In the salon, Carter continued to plead with Daphne to stay in Los Angeles. She told him that she always wanted to settle down and have a family, and told him he could have any woman he wanted. She suggested he go find someone else.

Carter said he couldn’t, as he would be pining for her and hoping she’d come back to him. “I won’t,” Daphne said staunchly. Carter told Daphne that he had a secret.

Carter admitted he had the same dream she did — he always wanted a family. He told Daphne that there was no one he’d rather have a family with than her.

Daphne walked out anyway, but Carter called after her. When she turned, he was on one knee. “You don’t think men haven’t tried this before?” Daphne scoffed.

Carter pulled out a ring box and opened it. He told her he knew she was pushing him away because she loved hi,m but he wanted to be her husband. “Will you marry me?” Carter asked.
