What’s happening in Fairmont Crest in 2026? A newly released promo video (below) has given us just enough of a hint to ensure we’ll be stocked up on plenty of popcorn for the coming months on Beyond the Gates.
Nicole and Carlton
Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson (Daphnée Duplaix) had a rough year in 2025 when her supposedly perfect world was shattered a few times, along with her heart. But waiting in the wings was her now ex-husband’s ex-best friend and ex-business partner, Dr. Carlton Fitzgerald (Robert Christopher Riley). While Nicole has been hot and cold with Carlton, she’s also had her eye on Dr. Kial Rollins (Greg Vaughan). Is there a doctor in the house? You bet there is…more than one, in fact.
Leslie and Marcel
Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) and Marcel (Darryl W. Handy) may not have seemed like a likely pairing, but they’re more on the wrong side of the law than the two of them may think. And with his low growl and her ability to purr, these two have animal instincts that are surprising viewers with more heat than a cat on a hot tin roof. In 2026, this relationship heats up, but it only leads to more trouble for both Leslie and Marcel.
Anita Dupree Fights For Her Life
The matriarch was given devastating news at the end of 2025. Moving into the new year, Anita begins her treatment for an aggressive breast cancer and decides to live life to the fullest. Mardi Gras comes to Fairmont Crest when Anita (Tamara Tunie) throws a party at the Dupree mansion.
Ashley’s New Romance
If we learned one thing from the breakup of Ashley Morgan (Jen Jacob) and Derek Baldwin (Ben Gavin), it’s that sometimes, people are much more entertaining with someone else. Enter soap vet Jordi Vilasuso (ex-Rey Rosales, Y&R). Derek isn’t the only one touching lips with someone at Uptown; Ashley’s got a new interest of her own as well.
Couples We’re Happy About in 2026
Dani (Karla Mosley) and Andre (Sean Freeman) are bringing in the new year strong. Although they weren’t the couple anyone saw coming (or lasting), not only has their relationship grown, but the characters have as well. We’re cheering this pair on for years to come.
Ted (Keith D. Robinson) and Shanice (Ernestine Johnson) together are everything we didn’t expect. Funny, sincere, flirty, calm, and sexy. We want more.
Joey (Jon Lindstrom) and Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) are the mismatched-but-it-works best couple of 2025. All we need is for Joey to commit, and Vanessa to calm down, and these two will be the wisecracking wiseguys of the Fairmont Crest Country Club that we need.
