General Hospital Recap

Emma gives and gets a bit of advice…
At the hospital, Britt stopped Emma to ask how Rocco was holding up. She was a bit snarky with Emma, but professed that all she wanted to do was help where Rocco was concerned. Emma felt Britt was putting on an act and had no intention of buying into it. She told Britt to stop acting like some kind of martyr, and Rocco’s mom, because she was neither. Before walking off, Emma advised Britt that, if she really cared about Rocco, she’d leave him alone because he already had enough to deal with.
Afterward, Emma found Felicia, whose advice she was seeking. Emma wanted to be supportive of Gio in his impasse with Dante, but also didn’t want to make it worse. She felt Felicia, having dealt with a similar situation with Mac and Cody, would know what to do to help. When she asked Felicia what she did to bridge the gap between Mac and Cody, Felicia said it was actually James who did all of the work, and it wasn’t until after Cody saved James from drowning that the two of them began to connect. Emma realized that Gio and Dante needed something to unite them.
Tracy is back!
Brook Lynn was in the Quartermaine breakfast nook when Granny Tracy returned from her month-long sabbatical. Ned arrived shortly after, but before he could tell his mother about his heart attack, Gio came in with bags of fresh produce from the farmer’s market. After Gio mentioned getting kale, Tracy definitely knew something was up, so Ned finally told her that he’d had a heart attack.
Tracy was not happy to realize that not only did no one tell her, but perhaps they didn’t tell her because they didn’t want her there. Ned said it was his choice not to tell her sooner. She made
clear to Ned, “You are absolutely not allowed to die before me. Got it?” He vowed to cut out Bobbie’s BLTs and change his unhealthy ways because he did not want another heart attack and very much wanted to live for a long time for his family.
Later, much to Ned’s discontent, Brook Lynn, Tracy, and Gio hovered over him as he ate his cheeseless omelette. After he went to take a nap, Tracy expressed her gratitude to Brook Lynn and Gio. Emma stopped by to see Gio. She advised that, if he wanted to make things better for Rocco, then he needed to find a way to make up with Dante.
Lulu has her hands full…
At Lulu’s house, Dante and Nathan were checking the premises for signs of Valentin. Charlotte (with blue ribbon key in hand) came out to tell them they were wasting their time. Inside, Rocco came downstairs dressed for court and was unhappy to find out that Dante would be the one taking him.
After Dante went inside, Danny arrived. He and Charlotte were planning on going to the courthouse to support Rocco, but Nathan advised against it. He said it would be better if Rocco’s co-conspirators weren’t in court with him, and they should support him by staying home.
Back inside, Rocco said it would be best if Lulu took him, but she’d planned to stay home because of Charlotte. Dante’s obstinacy didn’t help the situation. When Rocco went upstairs to change his shoes, Lulu took Dante to task, telling him he needed to wake up where Rocco was concerned. Lulu reminded him that it wasn’t about giving in and letting Rocco call the shots, but it was about protecting their son. In the end, Lulu felt like she couldn’t take the chance of Rocco saying anything dumb to the judge or DA out of spite for Dante. She asked Dante to stay at the house with Charlotte so she could take Rocco to the courthouse.
Later, when talking with Nathan, Dante lamented how he was falling short on his goal of being the dad he never had. He shared his regret for leaving when Rocco was younger and not being there when Rocco needed him. Nathan asked Dante what he thought he needed to do to make things better with Rocco.
Outside, Charlotte confided in Danny that she may be leaving with Valentin if he came to get her. Danny asked if she was sure she wanted to leave. She said she didn’t know what she wanted, but that her dad needed her. Ultimately, she was conflicted about the prospect of having to leave everyone she loved and her life in Port Charles.
Rocco receives his punishment…
Meanwhile, acting DA Turner asked Sonny to come to her office. They talked about Dalton’s disappearance and Rocco’s case. Turner insinuated that Sonny may have something to do with Dalton’s disappearance, and Sonny encouraged her to drop Rocco’s case altogether.
Turner said it was unfeasible to drop the case because it would look like she was giving preferential treatment. Ric arrived and cautioned that she didn’t want to be known for locking up innocent kids. Turner and Ric went to see the judge while Sonny stayed behind. Lulu and Rocco arrived as Sonny was waiting. Not long after, Ric and Turner returned with the terms of the plea agreement.
The judge agreed to either 30 days of incarceration or a suspended sentence after Rocco served 500 hours of community service. The decision for which was left up to Turner, who wanted to hear Rocco’s statement first. Rocco gave his statement to explain his motives and actions. He apologized for what he had done and his failure to understand the impact his actions would have on everyone. Turner said the “law would be satisfied with 500 hours of community service.”
Sidwell enjoys his role as puppet master…
At the Metro Court courtyard restaurant, Sidwell met Laura, who was not happy to be paraded out in public with him. She bitterly congratulated him since she was now under his thumb, but cautioned that if he continued to broadcast their association, she would be run out of office very quickly. Laura told him to keep Ezra Boyle as his messenger and keep his distance from her. Sidwell said meetings with him wouldn’t be regular occurrences, but today was special because he wanted her full-throated endorsement of the sale of Sonny’s piers to him.
Sidwell argued that an announcement to the city would work in her favor and make it seem as though she expertly brokered a deal for the piers, which worked out for everyone. Kevin surprised Laura and Sidwell with his arrival and, apparently, did not come to play.
Sidwell gave a thinly veiled threat to Kevin that, if anyone interfered with the “agreement” he had with Laura, there would be ramifications. Completely unshaken, Kevin pointed out that Laura could call his bluff and made sure Sidwell understood there were lines that Laura simply would not cross. If needed, Laura would turn herself in. Before leaving, Sidwell responded by telling Kevin that he needed Sonny and Laura but did not need him. Laura was appreciative of Kevin’s efforts, but was nervous and told Kevin to never do that again.
Brennan’s threats fall flat…
Josslyn met with Brennan at his WSB office. Turns out that everyone on the flight Valentin derailed was fine, but Brennan was stressed because there were still no signs of him. He desperately wanted the information Valentin had on Sidwell and the Five Poppies and said they had one other lead they could follow – Valentin’s new lawyer, a woman named Barbara Saunders. Although Brennan didn’t have a clue that “Barbara Saunders” was actually Carly, he still suspected she didn’t exist and wanted to find the woman who played her.
After Josslyn left, Brennan summoned Britt to his office. Once she arrived, he asked about her research with Dalton and Sidwell. He had no interest in getting her to testify against them, but instead wanted her data, research, and development. He threatened to tell Sidwell that Britt was working for the WSB all along if she didn’t cooperate.
Unflinching, Britt said the WSB were the ones who needed her and, if they ratted her out, then the “bad guys” would know they were being watched. Further, not appreciating being threatened, she told Brennan her help was going to cost him, and the only way she would agree to cooperate would be if he got her medical license back.
Carly and her houseguest…
Carly was in her kitchen calling in sick to work when Valentin, not-so-fresh from his night in the attic, came in looking for coffee and a French press. Valentin told Carly she didn’t have to babysit him, but she said she didn’t trust him and was not going to leave him alone in her house. She reminded him that they were not roommates and she couldn’t have him milling around the house. They talked for a bit before he retreated back to the attic with his coffee and cereal.
After leaving the WSB, Josslyn arrived with decor from the Christmas market. She pitched the idea of having a Christmas cookie holiday Party with Carly and Donna, but Carly knew Josslyn just wanted to be there to protect her since Valentin was on the loose. Wanting Josslyn to be at the house as little as possible, she talked Josslyn into having their party at her apartment on the weekend. Valentin returned after he saw Josslyn leave. Carly wanted him to tell her how to get Josslyn out of the WSB and how they were going to get Jack Brennan out of their lives for good.
