Days of our Lives Recap Dec 9: The DiMeras find bones, Susan catches Dr Rolf in action
In the Days of our Lives recap for Tuesday, December 9th, 2025, Theo had a bone to pick, Susan had great timing, and EJ lost it.

Dr. Rolf talked to the chamber in the lab and said he’d had a setback, but to consider the person’s time in the afterworld as a small step in their journey, and they would soon be back.
At the Hernandez house, Rafe was on the phone with Jada, making security arrangements, when Javi came in and overheard him mention Trey. Rafe explained that several DiMeras had gone missing recently. Javi said if Johnny couldn’t afford to hire extra security, he’d move in with them to take care of Trey. “I can’t afford to lose another kid!” Javi told him.
At the DiMera mansion, EJ and Cat were just about to kiss when Susan interrupted. She asked what EJ was thinking, and EJ was confused. He apologized to Cat and said he wasn’t feeling well, asking for a raincheck on dinner. Cat made a quick exit.
After Cat left, Susan scolded EJ about getting closer with Cat. He didn’t know what he was doing either and was glad when Susan said she was going to bed. EJ left but Susan was still in the room when Dr. Rolf came out of the hidden door from the tunnels. She asked what he was doing in there but he wouldn’t divulge.
At the pub, Leo was talking to himself about what to do in Chad’s absence. Gwen came in and overheard him and realized that Chad was missing. When she left Javi came in and told Leo that Rafe told him Theo, Kristen, and Tony were also missing.
Cat went to Rafe’s to tell him about her dinner with EJ and how she drugged him to get info. Rafe was upset that she went outside of her pay grade, but Cat told him about the bed, clothes, and size 11 men’s shoes she found in the wine room.
Rafe thought Cat could’ve risked her cover for nothing because it didn’t prove that EJ was behind anything. He reminded her several times she wasn’t a trained agent and she jeopardized the case doing what she did.
In the crypt, the DiMeras tried to figure out EJ’s endgame in taking them. Chad and Theo thought they could lift Kristen on their shoulders to try and get out through the ceiling, but they dropped her and she hurt her ankle.
Kristen told Theo how she’d dug with her bare hands and found something hard. He grabbed the water vases off the wall, and he and Chad used them to dig instead. Theo stopped when he dug up a human bone.
Gwen summoned EJ to the lab and tried to call him out for things not going quickly enough with Dr. Rolf, but EJ went off on her and screamed that she would have to wait. He said that they were lucky to have Dr. Rolf and didn’t want any pressure from her.
Gwen wanted her payout from the money they would make from the resurrection elixir but before they could argue about it, Dr. Rolf interrupted and said that EJ’s mom saw him coming out of the tunnels.
