Beyond the Gates Recap Dec 10: Hayley calls Randy in a panic, Derek and Ashley forgive one another

In the Beyond the Gates recap for Wednesday, December 10th, 2025, Hayley panics when Bill collapses, Dani gives Kat advice, and Nicole loves Kial’s touch.

At the brownstone, Samantha reveled about the library and decided that giving free access cards to people at the clinic was part of her plan. She was happily surprised when her dads gave her her phone back. After some jokes, Martin and Smitty had a pillow fight with Tyrell and Samantha.

The family talked about Samantha’s upcoming cotillion, a family tradition. And Martin’s political campaign, ensuring they were all reminded and ready of their involvement.

Nicole was surprised when Kial showed up at her office. He told her he couldn’t keep his hands off of her and gave her a shoulder massage. Kial noted how she’d tricked Ted into buying the gift certificate. He noted that he’d asked her for a second date but Nicole said she was still thinking about it. 

Nicole asked why he was a traveling doctor. Kial shared how his wife had died of a heart attack several years prior, and since then, nowhere had felt like home. He said it was hard moving on after losing the person you were supposed to grow old with, and Nicole could relate. Kial asked again, and Nicole agreed to a second date.

At the nurses’ station, Ashley told Shanice how she and Dani came to an understanding at Winterfest about Andre. Shanice commented on how fine that Richardson man was as Ted came up and asked if they were talking about him. Ted told Ashley how he and Shanice were trapped in an elevator and that they’d learned a lot about one another. 

After Ted walked away, Ashley teased Shanice that there seemed to be something between her and Ted. Derek stepped off the elevator using a hockey stick as a cane. “Oh no…it’s finally happening. He has lost his damn mind,” Shanice muttered.

Ashley helped Derek to a chair. They talked about their breakup again and Derek told her that he shouldn’t have tricked her into staying with him. He said if he’d let go earlier, things may have been different for her and Andre. Derek and Ashley forgave one another for their misdeeds and parted in a much more friendly way.

As Ashley and Derek talked, Randy came to the hospital. He told Shanice he was trying to check up on a friend who was brought in. She asked if he’d checked the emergency room first. When she asked for his friend’s name, Randy changed his mind and left.

Ted returned to the nurses’ station in time to see Nicole walk Kial to the elevator. He said he had ideas already for their second date and kissed her on the cheek as he said goodbye. Ted told Shanice it was hard watching her move on. Shanice said she’d be there for him to talk to anytime.

At Chelsea and Kat’s, Dani dropped by and took a look at their business plan. Kat got a message from Tomas and realized the similarities between him and Bill as workaholics. She asked Dani’s advice about living with Tomas, who told her to go for it but not to lose her identity in the relationship. 

Dani advised Kat that she was stuck in the in-between. She was basking in the feeling of finding the right guy but also struggling with doubts. She said it was normal, but knew that Tomas has slept with the “monster who ripped a hole in Kat’s life,” as Kat called her. Dani apologized in advance for what she would do to Tomas if he ever did anything like that again.

Dani asked what was next for Kat and Eva. “You forgave Tomas…are you going to do the same for Eva?” Dani asked. Kat went off about Eva and her mom and Kat’s hatred for them. Dani was blown away and surprised someone could hold a bigger grudge than she could.

Martin met Ted at Orphey Gene’s. Martin asked how Winterfest went, and how upset Kat was about him taking Eva. Martin played devil’s advocate to speak on Kat’s defense to remind Ted how she feels about dealing with her new sister. After Ted left, Martin told his campaign manager that he wanted lots of family time during the holidays.

At the law office, when Bill collapsed, the first person Hayley called was Randy. Hayley wasn’t sure whether or not Bill was still breathing, and didn’t want to touch him to find out. She panicked that it happened too soon, and she couldn’t make it look right yet. Hayley admitted she gave Bill extra tea, but Randy told her he wasn’t sure what he could do to help her since he couldn’t raise the dead. Frustrated, Hayley told him she’d figure it out herself as usual.

Hayley cried over Bill as she shook him to wake up. When it wasn’t working, she slapped him. Bill woke up and wondered why he was on the floor. He asked if he needed help but Hayley told him he only needed her, and she wasn’t going anywhere. 

After Hayley got Bill to the couch and chatted for a few minutes, she decided to call 9-1-1 but Bill stopped her. They determined he’d only had tea and hadn’t eaten anything yet that day. Hayley told him that must have been why he fainted, and left to find him something to eat in the break room.
