The Bold and the Beautiful Dec 9: Ridge has second thoughts, Sheila is devastated
In The Bold and the Beautiful recap for Tuesday, December 9th, 2025, wedding preparations are in full swing as news of Eric’s retirement spreads.

At the Forrester mansion, Eric and Donna talked about his forced retirement. He said he felt needed not that long ago but once he’d helped, Ridge didn’t want him around anymore. Eric regretted some of the things he said to Ridge.
Donna suggested that Eric still show Ridge his designs but Eric said that Ridge didn’t want to see them. Eric wanted to talk about Hope and Liam’s wedding instead. He said he didn’t feel like going, but Donna would give the couple his best.
At the CEO’s office, Brooke and Ridge recounted their choices about Eric’s retirement. Ridge insisted that Eric didn’t really want to be back in the daily grind, no matter what he’d said. Still, now that they had ordered Eric to retire and put out an international press release, Ridge wondered if retiring should have been Eric’s own decision.
Ridge said that when the daily grind got too much, he knew Eric wouldn’t step away. He hoped that when his day came, someone would tell him his time was up.
Brooke assured Ridge that Eric would be busy doing other things, but it was Ridge’s turn. Ridge noted he couldn’t get the image of Eric leaving with his stapler out of his mind and was now doubting himself for making Eric retire against his will.
At Brooke’s, Liam and Hope looked forward to their wedding and noted how much planning Beth had done to make it happen. Hope said that their parents had hired so much security, no paparazzi would be getting in. They talked about Eric’s retirement and how he’d taught Hope everything she knew.
Hope and Liam talked about how Beth made it clear she’s not comfortable around Sheila, so they didn’t invite her. Beth came in, and they promised her not to peek at her plans. Beth happily told them that she couldn’t wait for them to be a family again.
At home, Deacon and Sheila talked about hearing the news that Eric had retired and Hope’s upcoming wedding. Sheila wanted to coordinate outfits, but Deacon got awkward. He reluctantly admitted that Sheila wasn’t invited to the wedding.
Deacon wanted to make it about it being Hope and Liam’s day, and that they should focus on what they want. Sheila was upset and said that Bill had done worse things than she had, but he was allowed to attend the wedding.
Sheila asked Deacon to try to get her an invitation, as it was a statement socially for them to go together, especially to his kids. Deacon said that he was sorry but he had to do what his daughter wanted.
