5 Pros and Cons of a Taylor and Deacon Romance on The Bold and the Beautiful

On The Bold and the Beautiful, viewers have been blindsided by a spark no one saw coming: the undeniable chemistry between world-renowned psychiatrist Taylor Hayes and reformed bad boy Deacon Sharpe.

When Deacon (Sean Kanan) was temporarily estranged from Sheila (Kimberlin Brown), and Taylor was moving on from another go on the Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) merry-go-round, the two crossed paths and bonded. Now, fans are debating if this is a recipe for romance or disaster, so we deep-dived the reasons “Teacon” works — and why they don’t.

Breaking the Cycle: For decades, Taylor has been trapped in the “Tridge” loop, often playing second fiddle to Brooke. Deacon offers Taylor a chance to be someone’s clear first choice — without having to share holiday dinners with the Logan sisters or at the Forrester mansion.

Shared Outsider Status: Both Taylor and Deacon know what it feels like to be on the outside looking in at the Logan/Forrester “destiny.” This shared pain creates a unique emotional intimacy and empathy with one another.

Undeniable Chemistry: Taylor and Deacon prove that opposites attract. There is a raw, fun energy between them that Taylor has lacked for years. Deacon brings out her looser, more playful side.

The Karma Factor: Let’s face it — a Taylor and Deacon union is the ultimate revenge. It unsettles Brooke (Deacon’s ex) and drives Sheila mad. And there’s never been any love lost between Deacon and Ridge, so that would also be a win.

Mutual Healing: Deacon wants growth, and Taylor is a healer by trade. While risky, their connection is currently built on solace and listening to one another during their respective low points.

5 Reasons They Are a Disaster Waiting to Happen

The Sheila Carter Problem: This one could take up spots 1 through 5. Deacon is currently married to the woman who shot Taylor and left her for dead, and has tried to kill her daughter, son-in-law, well, you get the picture. It is a massive betrayal of self-preservation for Taylor to even sleep with the husband of her attempted murderer; the danger to Taylor’s life is literal.

Professional Mismatch: Taylor is a distinguished psychiatrist; Deacon is a former conman with a criminal record. And, he’s her patient, kinda. There are some blurred lines there that go against her ethics.

The “ick” Factor with Brooke: Deacon is the father of Hope Logan (Annika Noelle). If Hope disapproves, it could reignite the tension that Hope and Steffy finally put behind them. Not to mention, she’d be, once again, with one of Brooke’s exes.

Family Warfare: Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) might have a harder time accepting her mother with Deacon than Hope. Even if Steffy could see past Deacon’s association with Sheila, or that she’d get free pizza, Steffy would know better than anyone what danger her mom would be in by dating Deacon.

Trust Issues: Can Taylor truly trust a man who looked at Sheila Carter and saw a soulmate? Deacon’s judgment is historically flawed, and Taylor risks being just another stop on his chaotic journey rather than a destination.

Verdict: While Teacon offers excitement in a twist we didn’t see coming, the looming shadow of Sheila Carter suggests this fling may be more dangerous than it’s worth. Regardless, if it’s keeping Ridge away from Taylor, we want to see it.
