Days of our Lives Recap Dec 5: Cat drugs EJ, Chad is a no show
In the Days of our Lives recap for Friday, December 5, 2025, Chad misses his custody hearing, Kristen is even more determined to escape, and Cat drugs EJ.

At the Horton house, Jennifer and Jack readied for the custody hearing, but they realized Thomas had outgrown his suit. Jennifer left to get him a new one while Jack had a chat with Thomas and explained that Chad didn’t want them to move away, and he wouldn’t either if he were his dad.
In the square, Jennifer ran into Cat, who tried to explain that she and Chad were definitely over. Jennifer told Cat that Chad’s feelings for her were never real; they were just residual confusion from when she pretended to be Abigail. Jennifer called Cat a vile predator and said that Chad may have believed her “Clyde made me do it” excuse, but Jennifer never would.
After Jennifer left, Cat made a phone call. She asked Andrew to do her a favor but not tell anyone. “Can you put in a prescription for me, and put a rush on it?” she asked.
Gabi met Theo at the pub and signed the last of the paperwork to make Gabi Chic her own. They talked about Chad’s hearing and how they hoped he wouldn’t lose his kids. Theo told Gabi he had a date with Jada, and Gabi said how great she was. When EJ came in to get a milkshake for Thomas on his way to court, Gabi was more than frosty. She told Theo that EJ only did things for himself.
At the courthouse, EJ told Justin that he didn’t want Thomas to think that he and Chad were big mean monsters in the situation. Justin asked EJ if mediation was an option to avoid tearing the family apart. When Thomas arrived, EJ told him that he was there to speak on behalf of his father, but he was only doing what was best for Thomas and would respect whatever the judge said. He handed Thomas a milkshake.
When the judge came in, no one could explain why Chad was a no-show to the judge. Jack said they had a text from Chad explaining that he hadn’t seen the message inviting him to Thanksgiving, but he’d see them in court. EJ asked for a continuance to see what was going on. Justin asked Jennifer and Jack if they had any objection to agreeing to that. They didn’t, so the judge granted a one-week extension.
EJ met Cat as planned for dinner at the mansion. She was upset when he told her that Chad didn’t show up. EJ said that now he believed that Chad could be missing, like Tony. EJ told her that he had notified the police.
When EJ wasn’t looking, Cat put drops in his drink. A few moments after he drank it, EJ passed out on the couch.
Back at home, Jennifer and Jack realized how worried Thomas was for Chad. They assured him that everything would be okay but once alone, Jennifer was sure Chad’s no-show was related to Tony and Kristen being missing. She said it wasn’t safe being a DiMera, or being near one, and wanted more than ever to take the kids.
In the DiMera crypt, Chad woke up and recounted how he’d walked in the park, felt a sharp pain in his shoulder, and wound up there. When he found out what day it was, he was desperate to get out, knowing he’d lose his kids if he didn’t show up at court.
Kristen and Tony thought this could be a good thing. Everyone would know Chad would never miss his custody hearing, and they would start looking for him.
