Days of our Lives Recap Dec 4: EJ remembers Cat, Rachel trusts Sophia

In the Days of our Lives recap for Thursday, December 4, 2025, EJ remembers knowing Cat in Italy, Steve and Alex worry about Stephanie, Chanel backs off, and Sophia befriends Rachel.

In Bayview, Rachel is unsure about Sophia when she tells her that she can trust her. Rachel points out that she watched Sophia lie to Tate about being able to speak, so how does she know she’s not lying to her as well? 

Sophia told Rachel they were both just misunderstood people, and that seemed to resonate with Rachel. Sophia advised her of how it worked at Bayview, that she’d have group and individual therapy. They ended up playing cards, and Sophia quickly befriended her.

Tate saw Holly in the square and told her that he wanted to be honest with her about Sophia and Rachel both being in Bayview. He noted he might see Sophia every time he’s there to see his sister. 

Chanel encouraged Johnny to go to Chicago to cover Stephanie’s tour. She told him that she wished she could’ve made the treats for Stephanie’s book signing, but she knew her limits. Chanel told Johnny that she was going to get someone else to run Sweet Bits, but didn’t want him to quit Titan or teaching.

Stephanie was getting ready for her trip to Chicago when Steve came by to wish her good luck. Stephanie said goodbye to him and Alex, but when she left, Steve told Alex he’d actually come by to see him. He updated Alex on the analyzed letter and said he knew a few things about the writer of the fan mail, like he was left-handed.

Just as Alex and Steve were wondering how concerned they should be, Holly came by with the letters she had from the same person, who sounded obsessed with Stephanie. 

Meanwhile, in Chicago, Stephanie checks into her hotel room. Outside of room 232, a man in a black leather jacket and gloves clenches his fist and paces.

At the DiMera mansion, Cat mentioned to EJ that Chad seemed to be missing, but EJ said he’d heard from him. Cat was surprised when EJ mentioned a text from Chad saying he’d gone to cool off and would be back for his court date with Jennifer about the kids. EJ didn’t see a cause for concern as he knew Chad wouldn’t miss it. 

When Cat asked questions anyway, EJ got defensive. Cat explained she just cared, but mentioned a quote from Wuthering Heights. EJ was taken aback and said it was she who used to read to him in the facility in Italy. Cat feigned surprise, like she was piecing together what he was saying. 

EJ noted that he had an inexplicable need to take care of Cat, and now he knew why: she had taken care of him when he needed it. They decided to deep dive into their memories a little more over dinner. Cat suggested they eat at the mansion and asked if his chef could make something Italian.
