The Young and the Restless Recap

At the Abbott mansion, Jack and Diane discussed shutting everything down and taking Jabot offline completely. Diane wondered if Jack was really willing to take the chance that Jabot would never recover, and he could lose his father’s company forever. Jack didn’t see any other option. He thought they could rebuild and be stronger than ever, but they couldn’t let Victor into their operating system.
Diane was surprised Jack wasn’t angrier. He said that was what Victor wanted, for them to let their emotions cloud their decisions. Diane thought that what Victor was doing was illegal, and he should be held accountable in a court of law and the court of public opinion. Diane told Jack to focus on getting the company ready to go offline, and she would look for ways to bring down Victor in court. Jack agreed, but thought they should go for a drink first.
At GCAC, Phyllis told Cane that running after Lily was just making the same mistakes. She said that doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results was the definition of insanity. Cane agreed and told her about his meeting with Victor. Phyllis imitated Victor’s insults, but Cane said that he deserved it for allowing his soul to be corrupted. He said he was a man who lost sight of what was important: family and trust. He had traded them for greed and power. Cane noted that he could still live quite comfortably with his personal cash and assets, and one day would rebuild and reinvent himself.
Phyllis asked what his future looked like. “You, Phyllis. I choose you,” Cane told her. He said he wanted to merge their talents and be with her, which meant she didn’t need Jabot. Phyllis claimed not to know what he was talking about.
Cane told her to come clean so they could move on. He told her that she planned that Victor would go after the Abbotts and give her Jabot when he was done. “You’re still accusing me of taking the software, and now colluding with Victor?” Phyllis lamented. She said Cane was hoping she’d trip up and incriminate herself, but Cane said he was better at it than she was. He said to be done with the cat-and-mouse game and just tell him the truth.
Phyllis tried changing the subject to him and Lily, but Cane stopped her. He said they had always been dissecting him and his motives; now it was her turn. Phyllis started to leave, but Cane yelled at her to sit down, so she did. He said he would even take responsibility for pushing her to do it. If anything, he thought she was brilliant for blowing right through his state-of-the-art software. He told her to take a bow.
Phyllis still denied it, so Cane added that she had a major flaw in her plan: trusting Victor. He warned Phyllis that she would lose him as an ally if she kept denying it. He suggested they put all the games and dishonesty behind them and build something new… together. Cane reminded her she had two offers — his and Victor’s — and only one of them wouldn’t betray her.
Cane said if they couldn’t trust one another now, how would they ever work together? His sign of good faith was not to punish her for stealing the AI app, but he needed her to make the same gesture to him by telling the truth. He told her to come clean so they could build their professional future together. Phyllis wondered what that meant.
Phyllis told him that she didn’t trust him because he’d been playing her for months. She wanted to know where Lily fit into his plan of “choosing Phyllis.”
Cane said there would be a never-ending supply of hurdles with Lily, and there was no future for them. He said it wouldn’t be easy, but he needed to move on from Lily. He also wanted ot move on from Dumas and only wanted to move forward. He said he wanted something positive and knew Phyllis needed that too. But he needed her to come clean because it was a dealbreaker if she didn’t.
Cane said that taking Jabot through stealing the software was something Dumas would have done. He was offering her a new beginning. “Are you in?” he asked. Phyllis said that all his talk about morals didn’t mean as much as the opportunity to show her worth to all the haters and doubters in town.
Phyllis wanted to be a star, shine bright, and wanted a platform to do it. She asked if Cane could give that to her. Cane told her to admit what she did, and then they’d see. Phyllis said that Cane won, and that she’d tell him the truth.
At Society, Billy found Sally and told Audra he was sorry things didn’t work out with their “finicky” investor. Sally assured her that she still wanted to hire her when the time was right. Audra left, and Sally told Billy that Audra was having a hard Thanksgiving being alone.
Billy told Sally about how Jack wanted to protect Jabot from Victor. They were just standing up to leave Society when Victor came in and approached them. Victor asked if they thought Abbott Communications’ launch party would go off without a hitch, and no one would pull the rug out from under them. Billy told him that the only one getting a rug pulled was him.
Victor went and sat down at the bar, and Sally and Billy left. Moments later, Jack and Diane came in. Jack told Victor that he thought he’d come for Jabot first rather than Arabesque, and Diane reminded him that what he was doing was illegal. Victor pretended like he had nothing to do with Cane’s problems but had no sympathy. Jack noted it was always about the last man standing with Victor.

At Crimson Lights, Victoria ran into Nate. She suggested they share their tea together. While they chatted and laughed, Audra came in and marched over to their table. Audra told Nate it was nice to see that he could be friends with at least one of his exes. Audra insisted she was changed and happy, and Nate asked her to let them get back to their conversation, so she walked away.
Audra could hear Nate and Victoria talking. Victoria got called away by Victor, and Audra came over once Nate was alone. She asked if he and Victoria were dating again, but Nate said it was none of her business. They wound up rehashing their breakup. Audra noted that the way he was looking at her that he was never going to forgive her, and it was obvious he was moving on with Victoria.
Nate repeated that his relationship with Victoria was none of her business and to stop prying. He said he loved what they had, where they were, and where they were headed. “So did I, Nate,” Audra pleaded. Nate said even if he could accept her apology, he could never trust her again. “So I suggest you find a way to deal with that,” Nate said before walking out.
Victoria found Victor at Society, and he told her that he was going to L.A. She wanted to know what was going on in L.A. that was so urgent and if she should go with him. Victor said that he was going to help Nicholas and that was all he could say.
Across the restaurant, Jack and Diane hoped Victor didn’t have the upper hand over them, and also hoped their conversation with him didn’t goad him into attacking Jabot before they were ready.
