Days of our Lives Recap Monday, December 1, 2025, it’s Thanksgiving in Salem, Theo is late, and Xander and Gwen are together

On the Days of our Lives episode on Monday, December 1st, 2025, Chad and Theo are late to dinner, Sarah is anxious to dive in, and Gwen crashes Xander’s a pity party for one.

What Happened on Days of our Lives

Abe and Paulina cooked Thanksgiving dinner at Chanel and Johnny’s, but they waited for Theo to arrive. Abe thought they should start without him as he wasn’t answering the phone, but the others wanted to wait as it was Trey’s first holiday, and they wanted everyone there to celebrate.

While they waited, Paulina told them that EJ would be in trouble if his cutbacks caused Marlena harm. Johnny told them that she was doing okay at the moment, and her pacemaker surgery went well. He also told everyone that Sarah recovered from pistachio poisoning but she and Xander had just signed their divorce papers.

Abe told the group about Liam trying to purse-snatch Cat. He explained that he’d never touched her purse, so it wasn’t a crime, and that he’d given him a stern talking to.

At the DiMera mansion, EJ was restless, hanging out with Gwen. Theo called him and told him about a licensing issue that needed to be handled after the holiday. EJ was happy to come to the office immediately to help instead. Left alone, Gwen decided to go find her own fun and went out as well.

At the office, EJ explained things to Theo on the issue he’d called about and gave him a pep talk. He said that Tony wanted him as CEO and he was good at it. Theo realized the time and had to leave for dinner, but noted they were having it at Johnny’s. EJ was sad that he was missing out.

Gwen ran into Xander in the square, who was hungover. She told him he was going to come with her and not be alone for the holiday. Gwen brought him back to the mansion and gave him a meal she’d prepared. Xander was hesitant to eat it so she took a bite first to prove it wasn’t drugged.

Gwen asked why he had gotten so drunk. Xander said he wasn’t going to use alcohol as therapy anymore, but his shrink and ex-wife were in the hospital at the same time. He added that he had gotten divorced and that Sarah was hanging out with Brady. He was accepting the situation; he just didn’t want to feel it.

Xander said he knew Gwen well enough that she didn’t do anything without getting something from it. Gwen said she didn’t have an ulterior motive. She knew that Xander wasn’t interested in giving them another go. “And unlike you with Sarah, I can take a hint,” she sniffed. Xander was relieved.

Sarah was home from the hospital and wanted to have a turkey dinner with Maggie and Holly. The three caught up on Holly’s school grades and how she was working for Stephanie. Holly said she got a lot of fanatical fan mail but most of it was complimentary.

Holly went to check on dinner, and Maggie told Sarah that Xander had been very well behaved. Sarah admitted that he’d come to see her at the hospital, but was respectful and left when asked. She said even if he’d changed, it was too little, too late.

Maggie said Sarah seemed evasive about her poisoning and wanted to know what she wasn’t saying. Sarah admitted she couldn’t say anything yet, but it wasn’t an accident. Maggie’s immediate thought was that Xander was behind it. “Xander is capable of many things, but he would never physically hurt me,” Sarah assured her. “Well then, who did?” Maggie asked.

When Theo arrived at Johnny and Chanel’s, everyone was happy to see him. Paulina noted to Abe that she was proud of him for being supportive of Theo and his work, even if he was with EJ. Abe didn’t say anything but recalled how he’d asked EJ to help get Theo away from the business.

EJ went to the lab and talked to the chamber. “Most people spend Thanksgiving with their loved ones. I guess paying a visit to you will be the closest I get to that this year,” he mused. He said that Dr. Rolf had told him he was nearing a breakthrough and thought that meant they could be seeing one another very soon.
